November 5th I will be a sleever!
Nope....this surgeon doesn't require one, just the day before clear liquids. He didn't say to flush out, but I'm doing that anyway. I went a bought some hello out of the kosher section (don't eat pork and gelatin is pork) to eat throughout that day. I'm going to make it tomorrow. My old surgeon had a 14 day diet though.

For you and Lipstick Lady let me say this: this is the Rant board and that's what I did.....after that I figured it out, so it was already over before either one of ya'll put your 2 cents in. If I was asking 'should I be upset' then ya'll words would be welcomed, but I Didn't, so your words aren't that.....welcomed. Why go on and debate with anyone so close to their date (that's rheoterical). Just let it go.- Just when you think it's about to be smooth sailing.......BAM!
- Some Whey can be bought with EBT
I'm on a fixed income and due to my job closing a few years ago I had to apply for stamps. I was wonder if any drinks could be bought with my EBT card. This is what I found out. Check out the product label on the back of Protein powders to determine if they can be purchased with EBT. If the label head reads “supplement facts,” it is considered a supplement and can not be purchased using EBT. If the label head reads “nutritional facts,” then the Protein powder is classified as a food, and EBT benefits can be used to purchase the product. That explained a lot because I had picked up some Power Core Light from Walmart thinking I was going to pay with cash and I didn't have to. And the label does say "nutrition facts". So just because its in the aisle with the Vitamins doesn't mean you cannot buy them with EBT.- The best surgeon on Hampton Roads, Va is: Dr. Terracina
I just went to my pre-op class yesterday Oct. 28th and met with my surgeon for the last time. When I started this journey I was with a female surgeon but once she told me that she 'Won't' do the sleeve but will do the bypass I searched out a second opinion.....besides he was the one I wanted in the first place, but he was not offered when I went to my seminar (found out that different surgeons are set up at different towns). Anyway, at the seminar we was told what Dr. T does: first he'll staple your stomach, then he will hand stitch the line, then he'll apply 'surgical snow' (its a sealant). So he reinforces your stomach three times! .....I love that. Also he has performed over 700 Sleeves, more than all the surgeons in Hampton Roads..COMBINED! And all he does is baraitric surgery. The staff is great and been along with him for many years. I am so comfortable with him. To anyone in the 7 cities of Hampton Roads Virginia if your looking to get surgery Dr. T is your man.- Just when you think it's about to be smooth sailing.......BAM!
Thankfully everything is now in place. My child will spend the night with the neighbors kids and go to school from there the next day. I'm putting them on the list so he can be picked up after school and he'll remain there until I get home. My mother is coming to the house to sit with me once I'm home (she's 77 and has a walker so she'll just be around to make sure I don't get a fever) I'm her youngest so she's the type that will just sit at the foot of the bed and look at me..."Mom go watch tv or something!" Ha ha I am ready to go and comfortable with my plans.....My Plan C: To drive myself, bring my bag in and say I was dropped off. I figure I can find someone to pick up me & my car for the trip home, most of my friends work til 5pm so it will be easier for them to get me than it is to drop me off.- Just when you think it's about to be smooth sailing.......BAM!
I told my story to my neighbor who called our friend across the hall who has a drivers license and she is more than happy to drive me there in my car. You don't know what a relief it is for her to do that and Barbara will ride along with her. They are both going to stay until I get my room then bring me my belongings before heading back home. And don't know what Bianca's problem is but I am grateful that my neighbours stepped up. Funny thing is I stay to myself most of the time and even though we laughed from time to time in the breeze way I don't mix that much. I am truly blessed. Now I have to just focus on making this last check to hold me over until I get back to work. 7 days and a wake up.....I am sooo ready! Today at the doctors office. Weighed in at 370.5 (home scale read 366.6....but then again I was naked at home. Ha ha)- Just when you think it's about to be smooth sailing.......BAM!
I went to my pre-op class today and got all the information I needed for surgery Nov. 5th. I needed to get babysitting so went next door and asked my neighbors if they could watch the kids because Bianca (my daughter) will be at the hospital with me all day and three kids with her would just be too much. They said it wouldn't be no problem and I just waited for my daughter to come so I can let her know the details of next week. Well......she came in and told her that she signed up for school, it's from 9am til 2pm and she needed my help for the next two weeks. I asked her when did the classes start, she told me Monday. What!!!!!! I asked her how the f%ck was I getting to surgery on Tuesday? She asked what time was my surgery, then said she would drop me off (she doesn't even know that my stuff is suppose to stay in the car until I get a room). She left out after that and when I went to the store with her baby she decided to go hang out. That's children for ya! I am so upset that I can't even see straight. If the shoe was on the other foot I would be expected to bust my %ss so I could be there...why?....cause i'm her mother? I was told to go talk to her about her classes, she said she forgot the date (I just gave her the date thursday October 24th). I asked could she change her class, she said that she would call and try but she's not trying to wait 9 months for a class to start. I told her that I've been working on this for 7 months.....then added "it seems like she just wants to see me stay fat!" she claimed it's not that....I just walked off. This is straight bull and I don't know what i'm going to do, if I have to i'm just going to drive myself and let that be that. I went through too many humps to get here just to let it fall by the wayside by an inconsiderate child. Just needed to get this off my chest.- November buddies where are you?
- Pre-op cleansing and deodorant
Ha ha ha...they never said Do Not Bathe lol. It just said that after you clean yourself no deodorant. Since I'll be doing this for three days its only the morning if that I dont wear deodorant.- Pre-op cleansing and deodorant
I'm sitting here early in my pre-op class reading the information about showering the 3 days prior to surgery. If says that I'm not to use deodorant for each if the 3 days. I work in healthcare and moving patients all day long. Question: will you smell if you're a heavy sweater? I'm at work both mornings of this prep and I don't want to be blowing up the place. Can you use baking soda? I'm going to ask at this meeting. Just wanted to prepare myself if need be.- November buddies where are you?
We are sleeve sisters...ha ha I'm having mine done on the 5th in Newport News, Va.- Did nerves ever mess with your period?
I just found out Thursday that my surgery is Nov 5th and my nerves is all over the place. I already been getting my period every 21-23days down for every 28 (which suck as it is) but I woke up this morning and it was here.....I checked my period calendar (yeah they have an app for that) and realized that I'm not even due for the next eight days. So my question is: dis anyone experience an early period due to stress?- Did nerves ever mess with your period?

- Approved!Surgery Date Nov. 5th
#Sassy......Thanks, people always said that when I put my mind to something that I don't let the grass grow beneath my feet. Ha ha Congrats on Nov. 1st, they wanted to do mines on Halloween but I needed to get taken off my work schedule. All is good now.- Any Virginia sleevers...?
I'm getting sleeved with doctor Terracina Nov. 5th. I've been going to the support groups in vabch since I lived in Norfolk, but I have went to one in suffolk that I liked. I'm planning on Chesapeake & Newport News next to get a feel of the whole Hampton Roads Bon Secours network. I'm so glad Dr. T doesn't do a pre-op diet.- November 5th I will be a sleever!
I got my date today, within four hours. I was blessed to have such a caring team of people working my papers. Plus No two week diet! Yes....just clear liquids the day before. I'll find out what time I'm have surgery Monday when I go to the pre-op class.- November buddies where are you?
November 5th here, I just love saying that today, seems like forever before I was able to do it.- Will I have a pre-op diet?
My first surgeon was going to put me on a 14 day diet, but the one I changed to doesn't require it, just clear liquids the day before surgery. - Just when you think it's about to be smooth sailing.......BAM!
