  1. I will be having my surgery in August also. I'm getting my lap band taken out in a few weeks. My insurance would only approve a 2 part procedure. Then I have to wait 3 months for the gastric sleeve.
  2. Thank you Rosettag & SlowJourney!!!SlowJourney, I missed a class before my surgery (didn't get all the information I needed to prepare me for after the surgery) & was on mostly liquids until December. It wasn't until the receptionist in the office & I were talking...come to find out, I wasn't feeling satisfied, along with getting fills. I'm at 7cc, I believe... Hang in there! I keep telling myself, 'Slowly but surely'... You are doing great!!! Thank you! You also stay strong!! We both will WIN!!!!
  3. I had my surgery last year, (August 2013) and of last Monday, February 17th, had only lost 30 pounds. Had another fill last Monday. Definitely feel restriction now. Started watching my carb intake very, very, closely. Have lost 5.5 pounds since last Monday ; ) For some reason, it all clicks now. The food intake, protein, exercise & no carbs!!! I'm very happy & ready to get the rest of my weight off......
  4. Awesome! So happy for you! I have read just a few of your threads & you have INSPIRED me!! Thank you!!
  5. Doing well thank you. I'm down 50 lbs since being banded on August 12th. I've had one fill (December) and have definitely noticed the difference in what I'm able to eat. No more apples with skin, no more bread, very little rice, and chicken remains a challenge. I've had my ups and downs though. I have eaten more than I should occassionally, both in terms of amount of food and type of food. For the most part though I don't eat anywhere near what I used to and many foods are treats of the past such as donuts, soda, and fried foods. My hair has been falling out a lot but I'm hoping my body's nutrition needs will even out eventually and the loss will stop. I need to hit the gym more consistently because I feel like it's the key to moving forward. Still feeling very positive bout my choice to be banded. How are you and everyone else doing? I'm doing well! Have only lost 30 pounds since August. I just had another fill this past Monday. I definitely feel restriction now. I'm so glad you replied ???? I need to exercise more too. I'm very happy I had the surgery. I cannot eat apple skins, rice or bread either.... Now that I feel more restriction, I know, I have eaten less... I have the same problem with hair loss. I actually have been experiencing that for 9 years now...Feeling good about everything.
  6. I'm from the US. However; looking for support buddies. Just had another fill yesterday....don't know if I'm in the 'green zone' yet....
  7. It took 6 months for me.....
  8. Good luck! I just had another fill today. I think, I'm at 7cc....I'm a little concerned. Having to have that much fluid. However; I never felt restriction, until today. Never thought, that there could be a leak. I definitely feel restriction now. I need to start exercising too. I hope our fills work!
  9. Glad you are feeling well & having energy! I'm doing well. Finally on regular foods....feeling good ; )
  10. How are doing healthydnp? How are you feeling? How is your job going? Hope all is well. Take Care!
  11. Thank you for the information, on your fill's. I will definitely need another one then. My doc said, I had the larger band (not sure how much cc's it holds). I'm at 2.5 cc's now. How are you getting your Protein in? Are you still doing Protein shakes? I'm still doing 2 a day.....I still haven't tried bread yet.... I'm scared. However; I have had crackers, etc.
  12. Hi Pooh Bear! You & I, had the same surgery date. I had my first fill 4 days ago. It was not bad. Don't feel discouraged! 20 pounds is a great loss!!
  13. Thank you so much!!! I feel a slight difference.....I just started yesterday on regular food again.....Are you in your green zone yet? I will probably have another fill.....
  14. Thank you, Rosianna! Congrats to you, too! Keep up the good work!!!
  15. Had my first fill today. Had 2.5 cc's. Have lost 22 pounds in 6 weeks. Probably would have been more, if, I would exercise more. However; I will take, what I can get ; ) Feeling elated! Hope all my banster buddies are doing well!!!!
  16. Finally eating foods! I'm a few days early eating salad, but, I needed to for other reasons......I'm feeling so much better! I hope my fellow bandsters are doing well!! Been thinking about you all!
  17. Thank you all for comforting comments ; ) It is very reassuring, when others can understand what your talking about.
  18. I will have my 1 month bandanniversary, this Sunday. When I went in 2 weeks ago (for my post-op), I had lost 17pounds, in 15 days. I weighed myself at work (not familiar with the electronic scale) (had to ask a nurse), & it was the same exact weight from 2 weeks ago. I was discouraged. I believe my swelling from the surgery has went down (I had hernia surgery too), I don't get full as fast, as I did 2 weeks ago. I go back in 2 weeks for my first fill. I'm staying focused. I have got a few comments from people who have no idea, I had surgery. This is a journey & I want to succeed. Thanks for all the advice & support!
