  1. I would love the info please... I think I need some mentoring. Was sleeved 8/21.... already having issues with my families habits of eating out. I'm losing but I can see where I'm going to start rationalizing if I don't get to a better place mentally.
  2. hahahaha....hahahaha.....*deep breath* hahahahaha hahahaha Seriously tho? I'm 12 days out now... so we just resumed the festivities last night....Fireworks!!! amazing...
  3. yes everyone please keep this going....I know dr's are all over the board about what to eat and when so it also helps to see where ya'll are in your journey....like.... 2 mos out ....or 6 mos out.... then we can kind of see how it all progresses....lets get this going again. I'm only 10 days out but heres my day b- protein shake from v8 strawberry/banana smoothie with 1 1/2 scoops of unflavored powder l- Yoplait greek yogurt d- 1 egg with turkey sausage bits and cheddar cheese.... I'm so sorry about this post... I can't make the spacing and new paragraphs work....idk!
  4. way to go!!! I hope my path is similar. You must be really happy!
  5. Sorry I'm no expert but have a daughter very active in MMA which weight is of utmost importance.....this is one strategy.
  6. Drop all sodium possible for a week.... keep working out but switch to more aerobic less anabolic. (weights/strength) up water if you are borderline. You will see a difference on the scale.
  7. Wowsers!!! You really look amazing. You oughta go on over to the thread about how it feels to be attractive to the opposite sex ALL THE TIME!!!! They probably wanted the feminine point of view but a man's view point would be refreshing to hear.
  8. Hi Justin... I was also sleeved 8/21. There are a bunch of us august sleevers here. You will find support... my biggest problem has been getting enough Protein/food.... upped myself to pureed also... My best tolerated food thus far besides the obvious liquids...is Greek yogurt! Didn't like it at first....but it grows on ya and you crave it. goes down easy. Good luck!!!
  9. you go!!! Im only one week out so I hope this is me by Christmas.....taking a BIG trip then.
  10. I am one week out... was sleeved 8/21. I went back to work yesterday. It was a little push but I am not sore at all.... mostly I think it's being tired from not enough food. Literally.... remember by 4 days out you really haven't eaten anything to speak of unless you want to count popsicles and jello. My job is pretty sedate. I own a salon and am a nail tech. So I sit....I even have done two pedis. If your job is more demanding I'd take more time. Every surgery is unique....you might feel great.... you might feel terrible. Prepare for both. That way you will be covered.
  11. 1 week out today... I'm doing full liquids now but I've squeezed in some applesauce and I also put shredded cheese into my soup because my stomach absolutely needed something of substance. NOTHING with lumps at all.....peanut butter goes down smooth long as I take it super slow. Do what your dr. says but also trust your body's signals. HINT.... I started using V8-splash smoothies with unflavored protein from unjury....makes a great shake and you can squeeze in like 30 grams ....works. I am craving food.....but only head hunger. Good luck!!! We are on our way!!!
  12. As my husband would say.... you're gonna havta pry the boys off with a crowbar!!!! congratulations!!! im only 6 days post op but I hope this is me soon.....
  13. you look great.... keep it up. Hope the gallbladder surgery went well.
  14. W OOOOOW.... I'm 5 days out....hoping to do as well as you... congrats!
  15. I was sleeved 8/21..... still some pain... not too bad. Hunger? yes, but I think it's really a different signal...not true hunger. Although you'd have to be inhuman to be NOT hungry on all clear liquids.... hard to get the protein in. I have to be back at work wed. Just wrap your brain around it... you can do this. It will get better soon.
  16. I'm only 5 days out right now and I had a companion who did the calling for me. BUT I was ok to talk maybe 4-6 hours after surgery was OVER. I did not feel good though, didn't even want to talk to my husband because I was afraid I'd cry that first day....after that, I was just fine. I guess I just don't do anesthesia too well.....lol
  17. I was sleeved wed 8/21 in MX and flew home fri 8/23. Today is Sunday and things have been pretty much text book for me. I also am not getting my protein in but I know once i'm off clear liquids it'll be a lot easier. Liquids in general are fine I'm getting SF popsicles, SF jello, water, herbal tea, apple juice, broth (I hated the broth so I started to drain cambells chicken noodle soup it is wonderful.)..... off all pain meds. Working tues....thinking that may have been a bit soon, but there is no replacement so my clients need me. All in all, things are good.....I just hope it keeps up.
  18. I'm 4 days out still a bit swollen from all the IV fluids I think. BUT still like 5 lbs for me as well IDK i'm on clear liquids so around 200 calories a day...seems like it would be flying off. My day will come.....congratulations on your new sleeve!!!
  19. My surgery was 8/22 and I've not worried too much about protein yet. Shakes didn't agree with me before and My sleeve is very picky. I'm worrying about healing it. BUT I am starving to death!!! Today was the first day It really truly bothered me to see my family have pizza while I had jello....... My dr has you do a CLEAR liquid diet for a week.... the full liquids for a week.... then pureed for a week.... then soft foods for two weeks.....then food!!!!!! that's a long time without real food....but it is a great chance to jump ahead with weight loss....
  20. I was sleeved 8/21.....only clear liquids for me till wed. So they said not to get too hung up on protein content. Just use this as a time to discover what I tolerate well and get iniquids so as not to dehydrate. So far so good.....
  21. Thanks. Its all over now and I'm on the bench. My experience was wonderful. Thanks again
  22. oh I'm "wanting" everything right now....but only 3 days post op. I do believe it's normal to not "trigger" the same as you used to. I think there may be different foods but you won't want much so it probably will not matter.
  23. unjury has a chicken soup flavored protein powder too...
  24. so besides shakes....what do you tolerate well? I'd try adding unflavored protein powder to it. Maybe yogurt? or crème soup? Just don't get the powder too hot. (140 degrees I think) if it gets too warm it'll clump...
  25. i'm 3 days out..... lol so water and anything cold (except a popsicle) doesn't sit well. Tea and broth (well actually I hated the broth so I just strained cambells chicken noodle)....that's the stuff. Right now though, honestly? I'm just hoping to be able to eat at all eventually!!!
