  1. Way to go. I also could see a huge difference in the arms.
  2. I find I can still have most chickens but if it's chicken breast or a little dry I dip in a little ranch. I've had problems with pork chips but I think I didn't chew it well. It traumatized me and I haven't tried it since. I still haven't tried steak.
  3. I set aside a bedtime snack. My favorite is 1/4 cup pecans. Lots of fiber and some good protein. I also make sure I allow for it in my calories. Pork rinds are sorta high fat but no carbs and I use them cuz they fill me really fast and stop cravings. These are only if a tall bottle of water doesn't work. I find that if I have a high carb snack of any kind it just makes me crave and I snack all night.
  4. And I've heard Obama embrace the term obamacare....guess that makes him a racist? This administration is notorious for putting attractive labels or changing the name so people will forget the dis function and ugliness. The plan is to make them palatable. But what it amounts to is you can change the name of #%^* to manure. But you can't change the fact that it stinks and it's still #%^*!!!
  5. And I don't want to pay for any of this either. Thats my beef. I don't want to be on the hook for everybody elses perks. Yes, I say perks because if they can afford all of this other stuff they should be able to pay for their own healthcare. But they also should be given the choice. I visit the slums often in my work and see people who live in houses with holes in the ceilings and floors with nice tvs and furniture cars and cellphones, many paid for by our tax dollars. I'll also be the one paying for their healthcare.
  6. When we mandate that everyone has healthcare, how are we going to "mandate" enough health care providers to take care of them. It already takes months to get in to see your doctor. Doctors are not buying into this. I saw a poll yesterday that said 44 percent of doctors won't take this, 42 percent said they probably won't. They are shoving nurse practioners through the courses so fast it'll make your head spin, many will not be qualified or compitent. You will be putting your life in their hands. And, what about people who already had insurance that no longer will and will be on the market looking to see who is trying to rip them off. Theres not going to be much oversight as confusing as this thing is. I'm done with it. I'll just have to wait and see what happens and hope it caves in. I believe the 2014 elections are going to say alot more than we will on this forum. Even the dems are jumping ship like rats on the titanic right now.
  7. Sorry Mis73, my mistake. But you are right about the diabolical mess this has turned out to be and it hasnt even gotten out of the shute yet. I can't image the confusion that it'll be Jan 1st.
  8. Truely, I work in the medical field as does Missy, I believe. I see the suffering thats going on by people losing their insurance or their premiums and deductable shooting up, Doctors taking early retirement or opting to go into total private practice so they don't have to deal with obamacare. I see people on Medicare getting their benefits stripped and I see that the hospitals are going to pay for it in the end up having to see more people without insurance cuz they can't turn them away. This is going to be a domino affect that will destroy our health care system. I'm actually one of the lucky ones, I don't have children at home. I make ok money and am relatively healthy for now but I have coworkers that are not so fortunate and are trying to figure out how to pay those deductables and copays if their child has strep throat or some common illness that kids just get. Seriously? I personally don't care if you agree with my vp or not. The proof is in th puddin.
  9. Unfortunately politics made my fills go from 35 dollars deductable to 70 as of Jan 1st. I think it has everything to do with this site. Also, lots of folks are losing their fills totally and alot of insurances are taking WLS totally out of coverage because they can't afford to keep it in there and meet the demands of the "politics". We all won't agree, but seriously, ranting doesn't hurt anyone and if reading it offends, don't read.
  10. By the way, the prediction is now that more like 80% will lose their insurance. Its the middleclass, the very people that are scoped out to pay for this stuff that are losing their insurance. Kind of ironic isn't it?
  11. Wait for it. This is imploding quickly. Hey guys remember the koolaide that Jim Jones fed his followers of the Peoples Temple in Guyana in the 70s. So goes the Obama Koolaide. Sorry, not racist, just not gullible either.
  12. I don't know, but I'd say drink lots of water and flush out your system.
  13. Wow. That is a great goal. I think I'm going to steal this idea from you guys
  14. Believe it or not, they would still likely do your surgery even without a loss. Its just less risky to damaging your liver and alot less strenuous on them if the liver is shrunk.
  15. You look great. Bet you feel that way as well.
  16. Thyroid Stimulating Hormones. What is too low. I keep mine at nearly zero. Have been hypothyroid for 20 years and I've always kept mine as close to 0 as possible.
  17. Sounds like you are on the right track. It just keeps getting better doesn't it?
  18. I had to go to walmart on my way home for liquids. I hated that, but I think it did help me to get up and active as soon as I was able. I had almost no gas pain. My biggest pain was caused by throwing my back out before surgery. It made it twice as hard for me to move. Keep moving and doing your deep breathing and coughing.
  19. I had surgery on Friday afternoon and was back to work Monday morning. I wish I'd taken a couple days. It really was too soon.
  20. Believe me, I'm seeing it with my insurance. My premiums didn't go up much, but my copays, dedudctables and out of pocket shot through the roof. People were warned that this would happen. I know some people who think they are pretty intelligent and argued like crazy for this thing. Now all I hear from them is complaining or they sit back and say absolutely nothing. Sometimes I think those people deserve what they get. Problem is, we all have to chew on this one.
  21. Sounds like water retention. Try backing off of the bouillonn a little and see if that helps.
  22. you didn't fly to the convention did you?
  23. I understand your frustration, I bounce a lbs around for 4 to 5 days before it falls off. Just remember, especially if you are exercising, the water weight alone is gonna cause your scales to fluctuate. Do yourself a favor and get some measurements and start watching that instead of the scales. I watch the way my clothes fit me. The scales will eventually will catch up. Consider each measurement of the scales a temporary stopping point to the final journey. You'll eventually get there.
  24. I also drink the premier protein from Sams. Now our sams sells the snack pack which is 100 calories and 17 or 18 grams of protein. I like those when I'm just filling in and not using it for breakfast. I tried the vanilla and not crazy about it but I love the chocolate. Wish they had strawberry.
