  1. I didn't get a fill my 1st 2 visits but that was due to my progress. You will discuss this with your surgeon and it will probably be on a visit by visit basis.
  2. Was addicted, but now don't miss it
  3. Coach, this isn't really a great comparison, but it will do. Compare it to adjusting your belt. If you take it in one hole at a time it is eventually where you want it. If you get it too tight, you may be able to move but not freely and eventually if you kept tightening it it would reach a point of impossibility. The band needs to be a comfort zone fit for you and will not be the same for everyone. As for the topping of a slice if pizza, that's not that much food really. Before I had restriction I could eat 2 slices of pizza thin slice.
  4. Coach, til you get restriction, your feeling of full won't be much different than before surgery though you will be taking in much less. Try to focus more on eating good lean proteins as they stay in the actual stomach longer. If you take in a lot of carbs, they pass through faster and give you that bloated "thanksgiving" full feeling. After a few fills , it will be much harder to experience that type of full feeling though still possible with a lot of simple carbs. That old feeling is caused by the gaseous broken down components of the carbs. The new feeling of full will likely be a sensation somewhere in the chest/anatomical stomach area. You learn to recognize it and everyone's is different. My "full feelin" feels like a large bubble, course I've had plication and that could be a contributor. I stop when I think I feel that bubble coming on. This is all just my personal experience. But in the beginning I separated my carbs from my proteins in my meals so I would get the full sensation sooner.
  5. The sliming is the constant production of saliva which is being produced to help the food go down. Pbing (productive burping) is when the food comes back up because either it can't pass through or it is assisted. I slime occasionally, but have only pb'd a few times. Mine usually passes through. My band is snug enough But I can eat just about anything but slower. The band isn't supposed to limit what you eat or even how much, the size of your stomach will limit how much; hence the advantage of the plication. The band is supposed to slow you down, limiting how fast you eat, allowing the brain to realize the full sensation faster. If you are a "grazer" or eat a lot of sliders, it doesn't work well.
  6. I think my brain is finally catching up with my habits. I see a coke box at walmart a and automatically look for water and don't give the sodas a 2nd thought. When I see the junk foods, I instantly look away and start telling myself why it's good not to eat that. This is also how I quit dmoking
  7. My band is Miss Daisy
  8. That's what I'd do, except for the baby spoon
  9. Great, the first few days are the hardest
  10. Ladies check back in with us and let us know how you're doing.
  11. Relax Terry, she's already called her docs office.
  12. When I reach goal, I'm rewarding myself with a can am spyder. I rewarded myself with a leather jacket last week;)
  13. I think she was just hoping for some reassurance.
  14. Actually, I know the post you speak of. The original poster stated that she had called her clinic and they wanted her to come in on Monday. So no harm done with any advice that you might have given her or not have given her. She had already done what was necessary.
  15. Miralax will help with the constipation. Stay hydrated and keep moving. You'll do good.
  16. Excited for both of you.
  17. Try this. Though, I personally prefer casein Protein. Its more filling. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whey_protein_isolate
  18. Wow. Sorry to hear that. But like I said your romp prolly didn't cause it
  19. Funny thing is, tonight I was walking thru walmart past the huge containers of super sized candybars and the thought that ran through my head was "wow, I can't believe I don't even want it". It was so liberating. My hope is that someday, this will be my normal thinking all the time. Kinda like the urges when I first quit smoking compared to now where I have no desire for cigarettes at all.
  20. Lee, generally those who have plication seem to have more hunger control and don't seem to require as much fill. Some on here, carolinagirl for one, have never had a fill.
  21. The disease you are fighting first and foremost is the eating disorder then the obesity. We all are. Getting the fluid taken out of the band is just giving yourself permission to submit again. Did you have the same amt of fluid put back in? I would think that since the anatomy changes you will have to sneak up on the green zone again and it may not be the same fill amount. Plus, sound like what you are experiencing is bandster hell. I would probably start my postop diet over then go for another fill about the time I move to solid foods. That's just the way I would approach it, everyone is different
  22. Guess it could have come lose on one side, tho if it did, prolly was going to even without your activities. If it is still moving Monday I would get it looked at even if just to give yourself peace of mind. My port doesn't move at all. Does yours move when you are lying down?
  23. Yep kinda like an overweight WW instructor. If it's not good enough for them, I don't want it. My surgeon team, man and wife are both very fit as are their staff. My surgeons spend a big part of our appt discussing exercise and mechanics of wt loss. The female team member discusses her home diet and exercise routine as well as how her children eat. It's really pretty impressive how far they go to practice what they preach.
