  1. Got the protein and it does taste good. I also found some protein mini bars which would work great for us because they are only .88 ounces per bar (they are mini). They have 10 grams of protein in each! I haven't eaten one yet but I got the chocolate deluxe and they look good. Today I have taken tylenol twice and so far this is the best I have felt. I'm down 10.6 lbs and am encouraged that I did do the right thing for my health. I hope that when I go back to work in 3 weeks I feel (and start to look) like a new person. How is everyone else doing?
  2. You are doing great on your preop diet! You will do great after surgery. We all just need to find other activities to occupy our time when we feel like munching. We developed bad habits and we can develop good ones! We may all end up with really clean houses!
  3. Next week! Good for you. I am sore just over my port. Otherwise no. I am feeling better each day. I don't have a lot of energy but that goes with the territory. I am concentrating on staying hydrated and getting my eating down. I took a month off of work as I had 2 other surgeries at the same time. I think it is important to take care of yourself and develop healthy habits. Make sure you take time to feel good.
  4. Thanks everyone! I will give them a try. I like the recipes. They look good. I will go to walmart and get the whey Brittini. The 30 g per serving will be good.
  5. Sounds like you are doing everything right! When is surgery? I am not really hungry. I am a week out from surgery and just getting used to the lifestyle. Goodluck and hang in there. I'm always glad to talk.
  6. Things are better today. Is the hungry getting less the longer you are on the diet? The protein will help you stay fuller longer plus it will help your hair post op and maintain muscle mass.
  7. Help! Not getting in enough protein. I am having a hard time getting in enough protein. I am getting about 20-25 grams day. I'm not eating a lot. Only able to tolerate about 3 oz at a time.
  8. How are you doing today? Are you having any problems getting in your Protein? I am getting about 20 grams a day need more like 40.
  9. Always good to have buddies. I'm in!
  10. Good luck! I am a week out and getting used to the lifestyle. Let us know how you do!
  11. How are you doing? I was banded the 6th. My BMI was 33. I caught a lot of flack for being banded with a lower BMI but knew I couldn't live this way forever.
  12. Oh Brittini hang in there. Sounds like you have had a rough day. I'm sorry. You are not alone. I asked my husband several times yesterday if I did the right thing or should I have it taken out. He reassured me that I did the right thing and it is just a rough patch. I cried a lot yesterday which made me hurt worse. Take your pain meds and see the doc tomorrow. But know that I am here for you emotionally because food is what we used to turn to when we bored, tired, sick, happy, mad. You did the right thing. Remember in the long run you will be healthier and live longer and better. Hang in there band sister.
