  1. Great! Absolutely! Next week we will start getting healthy.
  2. I had my HR director today ask me how I can be so excited about surgery and I said because it is a permanent change!
  3. I'm at my preop visit now. So excited. We will have to talk daily after for support. Nice to have people same stage I am in.
  4. 2 weeks til surgery. Can't wait. Wish it was tomorrow. Inspired by everyone's progress.
  5. I think sometimes people just dwell on the negative unfortunately. We are all on board here so keep your chin up as you are doing it for your health and that is what is important!

  7. Thanks. I am interested to see the variation in preop diets. Some are on full liquids and some don't have a preop diet.
  8. I am a dnp aprn and am glad to see this thread here. I gained about 40 lbs during my doctorate and have been really hard in myself. I decided to get banded about a month ago and am set for 4 weeks from tomorrow.
  9. Caffeine headaches ouch! Several articles I read say that diet soda causes weight gain and cravings. Hard because for a long time that's all I drank (not good). Who knew that diet pop was worse than regular? Ironic.
  10. What does your preop diet consist of? Some people are on protein shakes some on fluids.
  11. Have been doing that too. It is like saying goodbye to an old, faithful friend, unhealthy food. I am hoping that I will not want to eat them when I feel good and have energy.
  12. It's interesting that people that love us want to keep us overweight. I think they are threatened by our success. The bottom line is that you are doing this for you and hopefully as he sees your transformation he will help rather than hinder. Hang in there and let us know when you need help! I know I will be.
  13. I am excited that we have a support group. I can't wait til we meet our goals and become healthy.
  14. That would be great. I am 36 also and have 2 sons 13 and 10. I often wonder how I got here in my life. I feel sick all the time and have no energy. I can't live in regret so I am going to move forward! I don't start my preop diet til the week before. You are doing great! I will be here for support.
  15. That's great. I feel better knowing that there will be lots of support as we go through this process. I just keep telling myself how good it will be to be healthy and energetic. I feel like the weight is keeping me from living the best life I can have.
