  1. I went to go do my favorite thing with the family and friends this evening. We went to watch the races at the dirt track! I had a blast, but everyone was eating my favorite things, nachos and cheese, French fries with cheese and chili, burritos....... Kept asking me want some, and I of course said yes I do, but No thanks. It was so hard to not touch any of it. I just drank my water and watched the race. So very challenging. All in all I made it through the evening without giving into my indulgences:) I am proud of myself, but it was so hard!
  2. I am on MFP, but I have no idea how to add friends? It wont let me without an email address. my username is judyrobinette1
  3. I agree here, I am feeling the hunger part, but I am just over a week into it, but I have been watching what I am eating. I am going to start the treadmill today along side swimming, (swimming in AZ is a necessity). I use my fitness pal and it is SUCH A HUGE help:)
  4. It's funny the little things that we notice. I am glad to see everyone reply:) I love this site and all of the friends I am making here
  5. I was advised against it as well, HOWEVER, I opted for the Gas X gel caps at 120 dose recommended by the pharmacists. I told him what I did, and oddly enough he also got banded and took what he recommended. It doesn't make it go away but it does truly help. Keep a heating pad close, and you'll be ok in a feel days:) I am proud and happy for you!
  6. I have been wondering where the weight was coming off at? couldn't really tell. I took a shower and stepped on the scale and yes down pounds but still not sure where......Until I put a night gown on that when I used to put it on I would move my arms out threw it to stretch it so that it fits better, Come on ladies I am sure others have done this, and low and behold AH-HA! I put it on without having to stretch it out:) My AH-HA moment shared, so what was yours?
  7. Don't let us scare you, honestly is the best medicine! I can assure you that the gas pains will go away, but yes they are horrible! I can barely feel mine now and I am just 1 week fresh out of surgery. I feel 110% better, but hungry.
  8. I feel the same way gents and ladies! I am just 1 week post surgery and I am hungry!! GROWL GROWL GROWL. But yes this is normal, I can't wait till my first fill:)
  9. I took the actual Gas X gel pill versus the strips. I used the maximum strength which was recommended by the pharmacists once I told him what I needed it for. He said that the low dose gas strips won't work, that I needed a higher strength 120 or more. They didn't take it all away, but it helped a lot.
  10. Take a deep breathe and realize that your close family and friends love you and just want to help. Now with that being said, you made this decision and I am sure you are making good choices when it comes to what you should and shouldn't eat. I had the same problem with a family member and I basically said please stop. I explained to her that I wouldn't do something that could potentially hurt me or prolong my recovery or weight loss. I also told her that I appreciate the help, but I can do this on my own:) It is so hard when you have people nagging at you, most of the time it's genuinely them trying to help you, but it can be irritating. GREAT job on the weight loss!
  11. Congratulations!! Now the bad new! The gas will go away, but it's going to be rough the next couple of days. Walk, Walk, Walk. Laying on your belly on a bed or couch for a few minutes at a time will apply pressure and help the gas come out. Definitely roll your shoulders. I am 1 week 1 day and I barely feel the gas anymore, so relief is in sight.
  12. That is awesome! I too went through the True Results in Scottsdale. It took me just over a year to finally decide, and I am now 1 week post-surgery. I can tell you that it might seem like you made a bad decision the first couple of days, but believe me, you will SO learn that you made the right choice! Welcome to the family:)
  13. I just hit my 1 week today! The first week I will admit was horrible. The gas pains were bad and I contemplated what I had done to myself, but when I started to notice that I was loosing a few pounds, I realized that what I had done to myself wasn't the question I should have been asking, so instead I thought "Why didn't I do this earlier'? I am only down 16 pound pre-surgery to now, but I am not at all upset. I broke the yucky 200 mark and I never thought I would do that. I am SO proud of myself. I feel for you ladies with the gas, it will get better I promise. Heating pads can also be your best friend, use them on your back and it dulls the pain. Walk, walk, walk, sip, sip, sip! I am drinking iced tea without the ice with sweetener instead of sugar and water. I have been eating soups and yogurts. I am thinking of incorporating mashed potatoes for a more full feeling as I am starting to get really hungry and don't go back to see the doctor till 07/24. Congratulations to all of us:)
  14. How are you doing today? I wonder if the fill is going to hurt? I am nervous about my 1st appointment, I don't go till 07/24, but I hope I get filled as I am starveling!!
  15. I finally reached onederland, down 16 pounds since pre-surgery to now! I never thought I would get below it!
  16. Okay great thanks a bunch! I am looking forward to the visit to see what my new steps will be:)
  17. I was just banded on Thursday 06/13. I don't have my first appointment till 07/24 which is about 6 weeks after surgery. Does that seem normal? I am not even sure if I had a fill in surgery.
  18. I will have to try that! Gatorade and Ice in a blender, sounds good:)
  19. I would have to agree here, I think a new Doctor would be up my alley. You need those vitamins from the foods. Hang in there!
  20. I am doing pretty good my dear:) Thanks for asking. Still have gassy issues, but they are subsiding. I also has a hernia repair at the same time of my band, so I think the pain in the chest is also that. I am hanging in there though. I don't go for a visit till 07/24/2013 and not sure if I had a fill at surgery or not. I will have so many questions when I go back. I love this site, you all are so very helpful and supportive:)
  21. I agree, I actually moved the wrong way earlier today and I has a sharp pain there, but it seems to be getting better. I would also suggest watching it for 24 hours and call your DOC if it gets worse. You are still very tender in there lady, so just take it easy. No Super Woman for a few weeks:)
  22. Don't give into them sweety:) Bullies are people who prey on other people because they have something bothering them in their own lives. Let you inner beauty shine through your eyes and as the weight comes off, they will be eating your dust! You Got THS!!
  23. Hi To all of my fellow June Banders:) I just had mine done 06/13/13. It's only been a few days, But I am so excited to start my journey.
  24. Don't be nervous:) Honestly, yes the gas pains hurt, but I am thinking about how great I am going to feel inside and look outside as I progress once I get past this phase. You will be okay!
