  2. Good luck on your weight loss journey! This page has a very supportive group of people on it. So many times, there are questions that we need answered about this journey. This is a great forum to get answers to those questions. Keep us informed of your progress.
  3. My face and neck are smaller, also my waist and butt. Despite my size, I've always had really skinny, firm arms. Now, I have bingo wings! If I wave hard at someone, they're still moving 45 seconds after I stop waving!
  4. I'm at 216 now, 5 lbs lost in July, 40 lbs lost since being banded on 03/29/2013
  5. Thank you! I'm fairly new to the page and was so excited when I saw a Texarkana group. I've only been banded for 3 1/2 mos. and was just looking for some local support groups. I'm glad you replied. You're right, the lap band is an excellent tool. I have only had 2 fills and don't feel much restriction yet, but I'll be getting my 3rd fill next week and am looking forward to getting to that mysterious 'sweet spot' I've heard so much about!
  6. I'm close to Texarkana and wish this post was active again.
  7. I'm about 20 miles from Texarkana
  8. Last week I lost 3 and was down to 218. This week I gained that 3 back, so I'm at 221 again...UGHHHHHHHH
  9. ladyjordan, LOL! Toooooo funny 'the beast in you'! I'm going to have to use that one next time!
  10. I do it too! My huge man burps, as I call them, are random. They might come directly after a meal, or 30-40 minutes later. I don't feel them coming. They come with no warning at all. I can't tell you the number of strange looks I have gotten in restaurants, stores, etc., probably because when it happens, my kids, bf and myself, laugh uncontrollably because I'm usually so 'ladylike'!
  11. I weighed in at 218 this a.m. Down 3 lbs. from last week.

  13. I do heavy lifting at my job and was off work for 6 weeks.
  14. missmudd, yes! I was frustrated because I didn't think that was normal. From what everyone is saying, it seems to be though. I've only had 1 fill, so I'll see what happens.
  15. mrsinto...thank you! We were banded close to the same date and our weight loss is similar so far. I'm learning to navigate this page and will post profile info ASAP! 72 lbs to go! Good luck on your weight loss journey!
  16. Thank you Sharpie! My surgeon says that slow weight loss is best, but I guess I was expecting a miracle. I want to lose 100 lbs in all and I know I'll get there! You're doing GREAT! Good luck on your last 35 lbs!!!
  17. Thank you so much Tomander! These replies are really helping to ease my frustration. WAY TO GO on your 156 lb weight loss!!!
  18. Hello Steph04! Thank you I'm slowly learning to not compare my weight loss to anyone else's. I just started the Couch to 5K app, so maybe that will help with my progress. Best wishes to you on your journey as well!
  19. Robbswife, I guess we are progressing like we should be! Hopefully, the frustration will go away when we make it to the green zone. It's good to talk to other people who understand what we're going through!
  20. Thank you LapBandAnna! You're sooooo right. It took me years to put on all of this extra weight, I can't expect it to miraculously go away overnight. I've been practicing my chewing too, although sometimes, I forget. Even though I stalk the boards, for some reason I thought that my first fill would take effect immediately and cause me restriction! I've seen people post that it can take up to a month to even feel a little restriction after a fill.
  21. Thank you Lapbandster! I thought I was doing something wrong. Baby steps...I'm in it for the long haul though! Thanks again!
  22. Also, I forgot to mention...I feel very little restriction. I can eat large bites of food without chewing 25-30 times. I gulp my water and have none of the sliming or pb'ing I've heard about. I have no problem swallowing bread or any other food.
  23. Hi! This is my first post, but I've been 'stalking' the page for months, LOL! I was banded on March 29, 2013. My doctor required a 2 week pre-op diet that I started on March 14, 2013. I lost 12 lbs on the pre-op diet and have lost another 16 lbs in the 2 mos after surgery. I was off work 6 weeks and since I've been back, nobody even notices the weight loss! I was expecting to have lost more than 28 lbs by now, but how isn't a 28 lb weight loss noticeable? I feel like such a failure! The dr put a little bit of fluid in my band during surgery, but removed it after 9 days because I dehydrated. I got my first fill on May 7, 2013 and will be getting another fill at my next appt on June 17, 2013. Is this normal weight loss or should I have lost more by now???
