  1. I had surgery on 03/29/13, so I'm almost 8 months post op. I started out at 256 lbs. and my goal weight is 150 lbs. Today, I weighed in at 190 lbs. Because of my height and the fact that I have huge boobs (LOL), I really just wanted to fit into Size 12 jeans. I figured that would make me look well proportioned. I wanted to wait to buy clothes, but everything is falling off of me. I caved in today and went to buy a new pair of jeans. I bought a Size 14, but was too embarrassed to try them on in the store. I just tried them on...they're too big!!! Yippee!!!
  2. I'm 8 months post op and I think I waited 6 months. Pre band, I could drink a whole bottle of Moscato and what seems like a gallon of margaritas, don't judge me...LOL! I can barely drink half a wineglass full of alcohol before I get tipsy now. Whatever you choose to drink, sip it slowly. I don't drink any alcohol now because I look like a lush after a few sips!!!
  3. Never heard of this! You're a genius! I'm giving this a try.
  4. Add me too! I'm wynnebell
  5. Apparently, I'm a wuss! I was off work for 6 weeks!!!
  6. You look GREAT! Your 'before' picture is the size I am now. I've lost 60 also and am hoping to lose 45 more. How did you break your plateau? I've made it to ONEderland but have been stuck for a month almost!
  7. There are very few people who know I have a lap band. Today, after church, myself and a group of friends went out to eat. My 8 year old daughter was ravenous, and in the process of shoveling her food down, apparently something got stuck. Someone asked her if she was okay. She replied, LOUDLY, "Something is stuck in the port of my lap band, that's all!" Wasn't expecting that one...I laughed way too loud and changed the subject very quickly!
  8. Don't get discouraged! 23 lbs is good! I agree with the other replies...check with your nutritionist and see if you're eating enough. Increasing your protein is a great idea also.
  9. You look GREAT! Keep up the good work!!!
  10. These E's aren't small by any means, LOL! I want fullness and lift though. I need to start saving now. When I went to my surgeon's office last Tues., the nurse was showing me their newest implants. They are not cheap!!! Geez... Are you already at your goal weight hazelsbliss?
  11. I have only been banded 6 mos. but I know I want a tummy tuck. I've heard some people say that their insurance covers it. I'm going to start researching tomorrow to see if mine will possibly be covered. I'm hoping that my breasts don't decrease a lot. Like you, I'm used to being larger chested. I've lost almost 60 lbs and they've already gone from a 42 DD to a 38 E!?!?
  12. Hi SandyM!!! Glad to see some more Texarkana bandsters on this forum. Dr. Hekier did my surgery and has done all of my fills so far. Good luck on your fill tomorrow. I've had 5 fills but didn't get one at my visit last week. I had lost 14 lbs in a month, and Dr. H thinks I'm in the green zone! When were you banded SandyM?
  13. Darn! We could've talked and stuff! I really did have to get to class though, so maybe it's for the better. We should still meet up sometime, because it's so cool that we met through this and we live so nearby, you know? We can help each other on the way! <3 Thank you for the compliment. I really, really love art, it's my passion. It was Tuesday!! Yay!! =D That was me!! Sometime around 11-ish? My appointment was early o'clock and I walked into my 11:00 history class at TAMUT a little late, at around 11:30. Really? I look that much different? I feel different, healthier, and I cannot remember the last time I've been sick or had a really, really bad HS attack. I was just getting out of the car to go inside when I spotted you! I would love to meet up sometime though. Have you attended any of the support groups they offer yet? I haven't... My appointment was at 11:20, but I got there right around 11. You do look different from your initial profile picture! I'm really hoping that your continued weight loss helps your HS attacks even more! YAYYYY YOU!!!
  14. You look MARVELOUS! You look beautiful, even your 'before' pictures!!! Congrats on all your achievements thus far, and good luck on your continuing journey!!! Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I am sending prayers for your mom as well!
  15. I'm really glad that you're doing so well!!! We were at the dr's office the same day last week and I'm almost positive that you were leaving when I was arriving. I was hesitant about saying anything because your initial profile picture and the Allie I saw Tues. look like two different people! When I saw your new profile picture, I'm convinced that it was you, LOL! When you go to Lane Bryant again, see if my BFF is there. She's the manager, Tiffeny. She's on a non lap band weight loss journey and she's super sweet and very helpful! LOVE your beautiful artwork! Good luck on your continuing journey!!!
  16. If you had surgery Aug. 9, you probably haven't had many fills. Sometimes, it takes quite a few fills to feel restriction. I was banded in March and had 5 fills before I felt restricted. Also, based on the food you listed, it doesn't look like you're consuming a lot of calories. Depending on your current weight, maybe it's too few calories and your body is on 'starvation mode'. I reached a plateau after 4 mos. and was sure that eating fewer calories and exercising more would restart my weight loss. However, the lbs still wouldn't come off. When I added more calories, in the form of lean protein, cheese, Greek yogurt...the lbs started coming off again. Don't get discouraged. You'll be posting your 'skinny pics' in no time!
  17. southernqt, LOL...I bet it was so much fun!!! haven't been on a carnival or amusement park ride in at least 15 years! I went to the local fair last month, but I was too scared to try. Next year, I'm going for it and I can't wait!!!
  18. Yes, I am. Sorry, I just saw your post. They're $10 a pair, including shipping.
  19. I love these posts!!! I can't wait to ride on a carnival ride with my kids. My NSV's so far are: Being able to wear an XL shirt that my son gave me 2 yrs ago (He kept asking why I hadn't worn it and thought I didn't like it. I didn't have the heart to admit that I couldn't wear it!), having a coworker tell me I needed new jeans because I'm almost mooning her in the old ones every time I bend over, having to sell brand new winter clothes that I bought last year because they are way too big and being able to complete the HipHop Abs workout DVD with my 8 year old daughter without passing out!
  20. You look GREAT! Your haircut is very hip and stylish too!
  21. One if them is pictured twice. I have another pair that are brown with orange stripes. I have the orange suede like zip front top to match them.
  22. I have 5 pairs of pinstriped, "dressy" slacks that are brand new w/tags.
  23. That's GREAT! I have BCBS of IL I'm going to start doing some research to see if they will cover mine when I get closer to goal!
  24. Yes jamilyne 102668...we can do this!!! Everyone needs a little encouragement along this journey!!! Thank you ZinniaMT! Stivers4097...30 lbs is GREAT progress! I hit a plateau at 216 and the scale wouldn't budge! I changed up my workout plan and got back on track! It has been said that everyone will hit a plateau at some point. Hang in there...this too shall pass! CHEZNOEL...I will from now on, LOL! ))
