  1. Thanks everybody! Looks like there will be a bunch of us June sleevers (hoping I get a June date too!)... Excited to be on this journey with you all
  2. Thanks! Yes - I was so stressed out- I managed to convince myself I was getting declined and was so shocked when I got the call. But elated...
  3. Thanks! Good luck tomorrow - it's certainly an exciting time
  4. Thanks! That's fantastic news for you as well hoping I have a June date as well but not sure since I still need to do part 2 of the sleep study Wednesday night... Looks like we're both on our way now
  5. I just got the call - APPROVED!!!! I am beyond relieved and excited They said they'll call me tomorrow morning to schedule surgery since I'm done all of the Pre-op tests and evaluations except part 2 of the sleep study (which I have scheduled for this Wednesday) and Pre-admission testing... Did I mention how relieved I am, lol?!??

  7. Congrats to you both!! I can only imagine how happy you are
  8. I think that accurately describes how I've been acting too! I probably talk about it too much and think about it even more. But it's the first time I have ever felt like I was truly empowering myself to change my life and my health - like taking control of my weight rather than letting it control me - which is how I have always felt!
  9. Hopefully the longer response time is a good thing and that means you'll get an approval the second time around - good luck!
  10. Thanks! Even though it was just submitted Friday I've already been watching my phone like a crazy person, lol!
  11. I had these concerns as well but my surgeon said for insurance purposes they usually go with your weight from your initial visit since they want you to lose weight in the Pre-op phase if possible. Not sure if that's the case with all insurances... I was right over a BMI of 40 and for the first time in my life was worried I would have to try to not lose weight, lol...
  12. I just heard from the insurance coordinator that she just submitted everything to the insurance company. Now the waiting game begins. She said it can take from a few days to a few weeks. And they schedule 4 weeks out. So... If I am lucky enough to be approved the first time around I am looking at surgery some time in June. Hopefully anyway!
  13. Thanks!! Congrats on your weight loss so far I hear you on just wanting to be free from the excess weight - it seems to always be a factor for me no matter what other positives there are in my life - it just always brings me down - tired of it and ready to take control
  14. Good luck! Fingers crossed you'll get a quick approval
  15. Hi All, I've been silently checking out this forum for some time but waited until today to post. I am still in the Pre-approval phase - I've met with my surgeon, completed the lab work and H. Pylori, the psych evaluation etc... All the paperwork from my primary care doc and special requirements from my employer's bariatric resource program have been completed as well. Just need one more meeting with the nutritionist before they submit all of my paperwork to insurance (and also completing a sleep study next week as part of my Pre-op clearances). Nervous but excited at the same time - actually nervous to become excited if that makes any sense, lol - won't feel at ease until I make it through the insurance approval process! I've been overweight my whole life and went through some really difficult years because of deaths of multiple loved ones and dealing with my ex-husband's drug addiction issues - needless to say I'm happier than I've ever been in my life now and the only thing I would change is my weight. Tired of the lifelong battle with food and self-hate etc... Looking forward to starting a new chapter where I can feel physically the way I feel emotionally and be a better mom and wife because of it. I know it's going to be a long road and am as ready as I think I'll ever be for the challenges WLS will present - but also excited about the opportunity to improve my health and overall well-being. Good luck to all of the others in the Pre-op phase and continued success to those of you already in the post-op phase. I look forward to interacting with you all
