  3. Blerd girl I'm trying to figure out if it's the whey isolate or if it's any one of many ingredients in the premier protein rtd's all I know is my intestines are killing me.
  4. It's normal, don't worry you'll lose it during your preop diet.
  5. Im pre op as well with surgery next Tuesday so Im having issues with premier Protein I have had bad abdominal/intestinal cramps since starting my liquid diet last week it doesnt help that I also dont like the taste but thank goodness my kids have been helping me drink them. I know someone call the waaaahmbulance!
  6. Do your self a favor and follow your surgeons protocol do not start the preop diet earlier than you have to I'm on day six and have 8 days left of protein shakes and 2 cups of veggies a day and although it's not as terrible as I expected it's tough knowing I have 2 weeks of liquids after surgery as well. You miss chewing real food. Lol.
  7. Ok thanks Geminisleeve guess it's normal and I'll roll with it for now.
  8. Ok thanks Geminisleeve guess it's normal and I'll roll with it for now.
  9. Anyone having abdominal cramps on their preop diet? My intestines hurt idk if it's the shakes or the veggies.
  10. Usually means once a month and depending on which BCBS you have it can be anywhere between 3 & 6 months. For example I have BCBS through Emblem health in Ny and it was 3 months worth of weigh ins @ my surgeons office. Good luck!
  11. Sorry, thumbs down on the premier protein. Nutritionally it's good bang for your buck but in my opinion they just don't taste good. Vanilla is their best strawberry is so so and the chocolate is awful but they are super convenient.
  12. ^^^ Thank you go walking, she was recommended by my PCP but I hadn't heard from actual patients up until now.
  13. I have my surgery scheduled with Dr. Christine Ren on the 17th.
  14. Just started preop liquid diet (day3) and according to the great reviews I pulled the trigger on Premier Protein @ Costco all three flavors @ $25.00 for a case of 18 eleven ounce containers. Granted nutritionally you can't beat the numbers but Ugh they just taste awful I know everyone is different but wow these are just not what I expected, i'm going try the Syntrax brand next. Any recommendation's from the vets to this dumb rookie would be highly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
  15. My pre op diet has to equal 1000 calories 4-5 shakes, low sodium broth, sugar free jello or sf Popsicles and no more than 2 cups of low carb veggies. I'm on day two, too bad they don't have pizza flavored shakes!
  16. Surgery on the17th here as well my BMI is close to 40
  17. Thanks Big guy like some one said earlier maybe it's a guy "thing"?
  18. With Chinese food you can always ask them to adjust stuff like no msg and no cornstarch (which they put in almost all their dishes) and get meat and veggie dishes which there are plenty of. Also you can try their steamed dishes where they will give you the sauce on the side and you control the amount you put in.
  19. ^^^ thanks and good luck.
  20. @ Cowgirljane thank you I like the Christmas gift idea.
  21. @ Shortierock, me too just curious what protein shakes are you using?
  22. As always thanks for the support friends.
  23. Now I know we're supposed to be positive and the support here is awesome, but I wrote farewell letters to my two boys and my wife just in case ya' know? I know it's a safe procedure and I know the stats are in my favor but better safe than sorry I guess. Now I've seen some rough things in life and I've made some tough choices but that was probably the toughest thing I've ever had to do. I guess I'm trying to come to terms with my decision with my surgery which is rapidly approaching on the 17th or maybe it's my empty belly from the pre op diet talkin' . Just curious anyone else do this or am I just nuts? Thanks for listening friends.
  24. Feb. 17th, starting pre op diet tomorrow.
  25. About 3 months from initial orientation.
