Next summer
I would keep going and get all of that out of the way if I were you.

is there any restriction when you first get a band?
I was banded with 3cc's but I needed a fill 3 weeks after my surgery, fortunately my surgeon told me to schedule it as soon as I felt better. Two days before my first fill was due, I was starving like nobody's business! I've lost a great deal of weight, but that is after 3 fills. I'm glad I got them at the time I did, I was in the green zone after the 3rd one and haven't needed another one since.

Saw an Ex-boyfriend Yesterday

nervous!!
Don't stress over the surgery, it's a piece of cake. It's the after effects that should make you nervous - the day after you'll feel like a bus ran over your stomach and would rip the band out if you could. It gets better and it's all worth it. I wouldn't trade this journey for anything except a 100 lb. bag of unmarked $100 bills.

Question
Please tell us more about them? I've never heard of Rev Wraps before.

Kind of an NSV?
That is an NSV! I was happy when I could no longer eat chocolate. I tried a few sips of soda over the weekend and I don't like the feeling of the carbonation anymore. I'm happy about that, I was addicted to coca-cola in the worst way.

I'm So Glad I Didn't Get the Sleeve
I have two coworkers who have gotten the sleeve and two who have gotten the band. The two that have the sleeve wish they had gotten the band for several reasons, here are a few of the problems they have to deal with: Coworker 1: Husband worried she would lose weight and not want him anymore, after 19 years. She insisted that she'd loved him since she was 14 years old and losing weight wasn't going to change that. For her, it didn't. He couldn't deal with the new her and ended up leaving her and filing for a divorce. She'd already lost enough weight before he left her, but after he filed for divorce she lost even more weight and is battling a number of ailments as a result. Coworker 2: She ate Beans soon after her surgery and had to be hospitalized for 43 days from the complications. She use to look 30 in her 40's, now she looks at least 60. She went from 265 to 119 in 11 months, she wanted to stop at 140. She looks like a walking skeleton and wants to stop the weight loss desperately, but can't. Eating high calorie foods isn't working because more often than not, it makes her sick. They both look older and have a ton of excess skin. I feel bad for them, especially since there is no end in sight for them to stop losing weight. I love my band even more now.

Peanut Butter
Thanks, I'm going to try that because I can't tolerate regular peanut butter anymore. It's unbelieveable the way it makes me slime.

Saw an Ex-boyfriend Yesterday
Yesterday I was out and about and ran into an ex-boyfriend. His greeting was "OMG...look at you, you're tiny!" After he finished showering me with compliments, he wanted to know if I was single and if he could call me sometime. I was a bit ga-ga over this guy for about a year and he didn't treat me as well as I deserved, so it was soooooo nice to tell him, "it was nice seeing you, take care". Then walking away without answering his relationship questions or giving him my phone number. Well, he turned facebook stalker on me late last night. Even though he's not a FBF he was still able to send me a message, it was late so I didn't reply and he sent another one this morning. I am now thinking of ways to let him know how I feel about our shot at a relationship the first time without sounding bitter - or coming off as conceited that I've changed so much since then, not just my physical appearance - I've done a lot of "me" work over the past 5 or 6 years and I think the lap band is the icing on that multi-layer cake.

It looks great on you, too! Good job!

Grits
The only way I can eat eggs now is if they are mixed in grits. I think I'll have that for breakfast tomorrow, thanks!

The Thrill Is Gone
I just had my very first piece of chocolate cake (my former addiction) since being banded 3 months ago and I'm happy to say that it's not as good as I thought it was. I'm officially over it and find more pleasure in a single piece of Jolly Rancher or Worther's hard candy. Yay me! I think it gave me a headache, I know I was feeling better than I do before I ate it.

I feel very lucky to be having surgery on Oct. 2.
Shhhhhh...don't jinx yourself! My process was super quick, too and I thought I was out of the woods after I got my preop instructions, but lo and behold my surgeon had me going for a sleep study 3 days before my surgery. LOL Thankfully it had no bearing on my scheduled surgery, he simply wanted to know if I had sleep apnea - it wasn't even required by insurance. I don't think a Psych eval should be avoided though, I definitely think it has it's place in this process. But as long as you have a decent support system and follow doctor's orders you'll be fine. Good luck, I hope you come to find that it was the best thing you could have done for yourself...I know I do!

How do you know when you have had to much before it is to late.
You were likely banded with saline in the band, I had 3cc's put in mine during surgery. Getting full quickly sounds like you might still be a bit swolen, the determining factor for a fill is how long you stay full. If you can't make it at least 3 hours or you're experiencing poor weight loss you need a fill. The person who does the fill will be able to determine if you need one though. It's been my experience that I don't feel like I need one until about a week before one is due. You'll know when it's time...you'll be hungry often and will feel like you can eat anything and everything.

My goal reward system
My reward won't come until I've reached my final goal...I'm treating myself to a huge Gucci handbag and wallet.

a question on lap band removal
I'm sorry you are experiencing these issues and will say a prayer for you.

How do you know when you have had to much before it is to late.
I'd like to add that eventually you will discover your "soft stop" for me it is an involuntary sigh or recently it's coming up as a burp. Until then, you should measure your food and wait 1 minute between swallow and your next bite. If you feel full, you have eaten too much. Full for a bandster is simply the absence of hunger. You'll get use to it and in time, feeling full will become a bit uncomfortable.

It sounds like you can't tolerate eggs anymore. That happened to me after my first fill, I'm on my 3rd fill now and slowly getting able to eat very small amounts of scrambled eggs but still can't eat boiled or any other style eggs. Give it time, you could be able to eat them again in a couple of months or so.

Is this normal pre-op?
This is normal for many people. I think the difference for me was that I had tried so many other ways of losing weight (Quick Weight Loss, Jenny and WW and a physician assisted program using phentermine for a year). I honestly think that made the difference and was why I didn't have to go through the 6-month supervised diet plan. I guess I got off lucky, I went in to True Results one day then had a psych evaluation two days later. Two weeks later I was scheduling my surgery. Don't question the process, all will be well.

I have no desire for protein shakes
Don't feel bad if you go through a couple of days of not wanting to eat anything...I did that and it didn't hurt me.
