Hi Terry: I called yesterday - both TR and BCBS and they didn't have any updates...I told you I'm behaving like a crazy woman. LOL GG

Patience has never been my strongest virtue and now I feel like a stark raving crazy woman waiting for the phone to ring from True Results or the Surgeon's office to give me the date (I've guessed May 20th...hoping it will be sooner) for my surgery. I say I'm crazy because I went for my initial consult on Thursday (April 11) had all of the labs done and the psych exam finished by Saturday - fast, huh? Why does it feel like an eternity? My insurance will cover the procedure because of my BMI, but there is still a fear that somehow I will be turned down. Does anyone else have BCBSTX? How fast was your response time? How soon after your requirements were complete before they scheduled your surgery? Anything input helps...

I know about the "seems like forever"...I don't have a date yet, just that it will be sometime in May. I'm on pins and needles waiting to hear back from the doctor that they have all of my documents and can schedule me. Waiting is sooo hard, but I'm hoping that the month ahead flies by quickly...like every other month this year! Good luck!!!

Don't be afraid Latacha...it's going to be okay! I'm still waiting on my surgery date...haven't started the preop diet yet. Keep us posted! Good luck to you!!!

I'm so sorry its necessary to remove your band, hopefully the bypass surgery will go well and you'll do even better than you did with the band.

What is it like to get a fill?

I've noticed that so many people are wearing shirts with sleeves in their "after" pictures. My main target and problem area(s) are my arms and I want to be able to wear sleeveless shirts and dresses without feeling self conscience for the first time in my life. I wondered is this just coincidence or has the weight loss left their arms very flabby? I hear conflicting reports - some say their skin was able to keep pace with the weightloss, still others say they needed surgery. Input please...

Hi Texas Bandsters! I'm in the Houston area and would like to join groups in the Woodlands, Spring, Willowbrook, Tomball region if at all possible. I have not yet been banded, but I am scheduled for sometime next month with Dr. Reilly through True Results. Does anyone have any advice???

I decided to share the news of my pending surgery with family and coworkers, although many are very supportive I can't get the negative comments out of my mind, such as: I know people who have done this and they are still fat, a girl I knew stretched out the stomach and it was a waste of time and money...blah, blah, blah. I have always been one to prove the nay-sayers wrong, I just pray I still have that in me. I need this to work, I've been overweight my entire life and although food isn't my world I am concerned that I'm going to make mistakes and end right back up where I am. I know...think positive! There are more successes than failures in this.
