  1. If you are on narcotic pain relievers that can cause you to flush.
  2. I had horrible diahhrea post surgery. It was so bad that i started on mushies 5 days early to get it to stop. I don't recommend doing that but i was desperate.
  3. I had hiccups right after surgery also for about two months...and then randomly after that. Eventually they weren't so constant and now i i only get them when its time to stop eating add an indication to stop.
  4. I named mine Donny. I used to love hostess donettes and since the bands resembles that, i call her the name of my former favorite food.
  5. Hi David if after two days you aren't able to eat any solid protien you might be to tight. You can't live on gatorade and water. You should be back to mushies by the2nd day after a fill, then regular food.
  6. Where do you live? I have two pairs of crop pants, two pair of jeans, and 4 summer tops right now. I'll have more as i keep moving down. I need to check on shipping costs and then we can talk? You can email me at turtlesoup21230 at gmail
  7. I told two people...my boyfriend that i live with and who has been with me every step of the way, and my best friend who lives 12 hours away. I told my coworkers that i had my gall bladder out. I work with nosy women who would be like are you sure you should be eating that, or constantly asking me how much i had lost. Its easier this way. I didn't tell my family anything...i live 6 hrs away and only see them a few times a year. A far as anyone knows, i meet with a nutritionist and i watch what i eat and i exercise.
  8. I told none about mine. I tell them its eating healthier after seeing a nutritionist, and exercise. And those are changes they can see and have been seeing since before my surgery. I was out for surgery but i told them i was having my gall bladder out. The band just helps me make better choices.
  9. Its common to gain weight the first month post surgery, ESP if you were on a liquid preop diet. you have time to lose once you are healed...focus on healing and not on the scale.
  10. I've been eating shirataki for years. True its not real pasta, but to avoid the carbs its worth it. I make turkey marinara or i put into stirfry where the flavors are not solely the noodles alone. You have to rinse then microwave in water for about 5 minutes then rinse again then add to your recipe.
  11. I make iced coffee protien shake for breakfast every morning. Mix protien powder with 8 oz of soy milk and a shot of sf Torani syrup. Poor over ice. In a separate container prepare your coffee. I use maxwell house instant, double shot, with about 4-6 oz hot water. Pour over the iced shake and stir until mixed well. I usually drink on this most of the morning. As your ice melts, you get extra water in.
  12. If you use unjury be aware that it clumps at temps over 140F. I would suggest either mixing the unjury with cold milk or water and tempting into your coffee. I make a shake with soy milk and one scoop of unjury then temper in the coffee and have it iced so it doesn't get gross.
  13. It could be that i had a stick then didn't go on liquids and just ate regularly...which could have kept the swelling which made me feel tighter than normal. Which caused another stick...etc. Sounds like a cycle i need to break although i haven had a stick in about a week and an feeling less tight than i did when i made the original Post.
  14. I'm in between sizes and could use some size 28 avg dress pants/jeans. I have some size 30/32 crop pants and tops to get rid of from the Avenue.
  15. I haven't had any Pasta in over a year. It was just a bit concerning because i had some restriction for 5 weeks, but then the past few weeks its just been tighter than it was. I have an appt on the 28th. I was going to ask my surgeon then but was wondering if anyone else had a change of restriction feeling almost a month after their fill.
  16. I got my second fill in june...putting me at 5.5 in my 10cc band. I have restriction and have been losing ok....but the past 3 weeks or so i have noticed ALOT more restriction...to the point that i have been getting stuck almost daily. I was great for a month and then sudden tightness. I'm still able to eat...just seem to be having more sticks...not every day, just more. Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen. I don't think i need an unfill...but was wondering if this could be a slip? Or if its normal.
  17. My doc works out of Franklin square hospital north of Baltimore. So that probably won't help. There is a bariatric center at Washington hospital center. That might be closer to you.
  18. Only my boyfriend that lives with Me and my best friend know. I choose to not tell anyone else.my coworkers think i had my gall bladder out. This was a very personal decision for me and i didn't want the constant questions of how much i Had lost or should i be eating something. I began losing weight before surgery and implementing healthy changes so the loss didn't suddenly start after surgery.now they ask me how much I've lost but not all the time.. .they SEe the healthy changes and the resulting weight loss and don't know about my little helper.
  19. I made lasagna cups as part of my post op using small ramekins. 1 cup low fat/fat free cottage cheese 1 cup low fat/fat free ricotta cheese 1 egg beaten 1/2 cup parmesan cheese Mix it all together and divide into sprayed ramekins. It should make about 8 of them. Top with a little bit of your favorite marinara and bake at 350 for about 30 mins.
  20. I was banded march 25 2013. So four months.
  21. I do the same thing with drinking water if i think I'm hungry. A lot of times its thirst masquerading as hunger. I have a little sign over my desk at work that says "you are not hungry, you are thirsty...drink some water and learn the difference" i probably look at that 100x a day and every time i do i drink.
  22. Surgeon said no fill because i lost 7lbs from previous month...so he wants me to keep doing what I'm doing and check in again next month.he thinks I'm close to the green.
  23. Face neck shoulders and wrists and hands. I'm happy my girls are hanging in there...if anything boobs are getting bigger. Weird.
