Port Pain
I was banded over two years ago and I occasionally have pain around my port. The doc said it's because it's attached to my muscle. So sometimes eating or certain activities will cause some discomfort. If it's for a little while I wouldn't worry but if it's ongoing, I would tell my doctor.

Someone scream at me
Don't feel bad. I stayed hungry too. The difference for me was my doc office gave me a fill each time I went especially if I was eating too much. I love that about them. Just try to add jello, eggs, yogurt, etc to your diet. It does get better. Good luck!

Did anyone have a problem with pop/soda?
My doc said no soda so I don't drink it. I finally had one this past Friday because one of my parents at work made lunch for us and brought sodas. So I didn't want to be rude and not drink one. I had a 7 up. It was really good. I had forgotten what carbonated drinks taste like.

Just had an unfill..advice please!
Yes I have gone through this problem about 3 times in the last two years. I gained weight because I could eat what I had been missing because of the unfill. But when I got filled again I relost and then had to get unfilled again and gained again. Like Mis73 said, you don't have to gain if you stick to your diet regime. I gained because I didn't. Big difference. It's all up to you. Good luck.

Home vs. Work
My home activity varies depending on the amount of errands I have so I'm pretty busy. On days like today I'm not busy but relaxing and I'm just not hungry. Weird!

Home vs. Work
I'm not nervous about anything since I've been doing what I do for the past 9 years. I guess I'm more bored with what I'm doing than anything. My fill level is awesome and I drink so much water that the restroom and I are best friends. LOL

Home vs. Work
Do any of you experience this? While I am home on the weekend or vacation, I tend to not be very hungry and eat less. However, when I'm at work, my body acts like its starving to death. Is it because I am burning more energy at work than at home? Just trying to understand.

Night Time Eating
This is a very interesting topic. I am actually the opposite of all of you. I am tight in the morning; however, I still eat a small breakfast because by mid morning, I will be starving. I eat my lunch and am hungry around dinner time. I eat between 5 and 6 p.m. and after that, I am not hungry anymore. Weird. Everybody's bodies are different.

New here!
Hi Kara, I was banded in December 2010 and I weighed 231 pre-op and on the day of surgery I was 255 because they had me on a special diet for 8 days prior to the surgery. Today, I weighed on my digital scale and it said 158.8. Yes, I have had a couple problems along the way. One, I was too tight and food got stuck so they had to unliquify me so that made me gain weight because I could eat a lot more than I should. They slowly added fluid and again I allowed them to put too much and we found that my stoma was slumping over my band. So more fluid had to be taken out once again. Then I began to eat a lot again as I absolutely LOVE food. Once my band and stoma were back the way they are supposed to be, I had to make up my mind to get back in the habit of eating well and finally 8 months later, I have finally lost what I gained and then some. It all begins with you. Good luck!

Banded yesterday!
Well congratulations to you and good luck on your journey. I unfortunately had the dreaded pains of gas. My shoulder pain was unbearable at times, but it eventually got better. Keep taking it easy.

Just curious and I don't know the answer???
My doc and team suggests for me to way two hours after I eat. Unfortuantely, I am one that just doesn't follow the rules all the time and I always drink while I eat because sometimes my food will just sit in the stoma or inbetween the band and that is a painful feeling. So for my body, I drink Water to help my food pass through the band. I will wait at least two minutes or so before I continue to eat when that happens and I haven't had any dilation problems thank God. My band and method is fine. @Obieewok, I don't eat more if I drink with or without water. I eat the same regardless but that's me. @donna12, I guess you need to ask different surgeons to get the best answer. Only a surgeon can answer for him or herself. Just a friendly suggestion.

Has anyone flipped their port?
I have never heard of this but I do think you are on the right track by seeing you doc's office. Take it easy until then and good luck. Hope you feel better.
