  1. Take the pain meds before you leave the hospital. At least it will be sorta ok. Also, find a halfway point for you to stop to walk around for a few minutes! Good luck
  2. Yay! I'm so happy for you! Welcome!!!
  3. You are going to do great! Good luck and keep us posted!
  4. For me, the pre op diet was easy the first two days. It hit me on the third and fourth. Then it was easy again. Look over your food list. Measure everything! You can do it!!! Mind over matter. Good luck, you're going to be great!
  5. Good luck! You're going to be a rock star!!!
  6. They gave me liquid pain meds. Plus very small pills for nausea.
  7. Oh, and Dr. Northup did my surgery!
  8. From Amelia here! Was banded 3/13/13
  9. That is great that your doing so well! Congrats!!!
  10. I was told around 40-60 oz a day! But I could only get around 40-50 a day. Just work hard to get as much as you can in. It really does help.
  11. Thank you all so much. All of your answers were so helpful and put my mind at ease!
  12. Ok, thanks for the feed back! I just thought it was easy for it to slip and I didn't want it to! But I guess it is hard to get it to slip. Thanks again
  13. Oh mine was too! My doctor told me to put some unscented lotion on!
  14. Well, I don't have a really good reason for thinking I do. Just worried that it "might" happen. I'm a little on the paranoid side.
  15. How can you tell if your band has slipped! I go in two weeks for my first fill. What if my band has slipped in that amount of time?
  16. I'm a 3/13/13 too!
  17. I was given 12 hours before surgery to fast. And the 24 prior to that I was only allowed clear liquids. I don't think it makes for an easier recovery. But I don't think it hurts! Good luck! Keep us posted!
  18. I'm sorry you are nauseous. The medicine and gas x strips worked great for me. But maybe your surgeon could prescribe another med for you! Feel better!
  19. Congrats! I was banded 9 days ago! I'm at 100% now! Good luck to you!!!

I'm so glad you had a positive experience. I'm going for my two week post op appointment on monday. I'm hoping they will start to fill me. I am finding myself hungry and am looking for a wall to stop me from eating.
  21. I go for my two week on Monday! I have lost (since surgery) 14 pounds. I wonder if they are going to do a fill monday? I was banded on 3/13 and am doing really well. I took the gas strips to the hospital with me. I found that it helped me to walk every hour or so. The gas really went away. I am waiting for my "mushie" stage too. Can't wait! Hope you are all doing well.
  22. I had my surgery March 13. I was up walking that night and had very little to no pain. Just around the wounds. They are a bit tiner. Good luck to everyone who still is waiting for their day! You are gonna love this!
  23. I am two days away from getting my band! Yay! I'm so sick of soup and jello. I have to stay overnight and I can't be more excited for this process to begin.
