  1. I was sleeved January 9th 2013 and everything was going great and then on February 16th I started having a pain in my stomach like someone punched me whenever I ate or drank anything and I mean ANYTHING. I went from eating 6 small meals a day to a couple of bites every other day just so I wouldn't have to feel the pain. It has since increase in not only frequentcy but it happens without me having to be eating or drinking. I have had sooo many tests done to find the source. Nothing but gallstones or so they thought. Two weeks ago I had them removed along with my galbladder. Today was my two weeks followup. The pain is still there. My surgeon is all out of answers and seem very confused by my stomach pain. His only answer was that this may have to be my new normal...What!!! Nothing normal about this punched in the gut pain. I will waste away to nothing. I need some relief. Anyone have any answers or have the same issue??? On the bright side being almost 4 months out, I have lost 56 pounds. Aroseofbeauty

A wonderful hot plate for sleevers!

A hot plate....now why didn't I think of that. I thought eating cold meals was just something I had to learn to live with. Aroseofbeauty

I got my date! June 12!

I know what you mean. I had to lose 10 to 15 pounds before they would do surgery. I was put on a low carb diet for 7 months prior to getting a date. Aroseofbeauty

    Help...I'm being deprived!

You need protein to fill you up. Try whey portein smoothies with a couple of frozen strawberry slices or some other fruit. The protien and the fiber will keep you full.

    nauseated

Well I recently had to get an ultrasound and it appears I have gallstones. So now I have to meet with my suregon to see how to proceed aka...surgery. They really should tell u or put it in a brochure that ur risk for gallstones increases with weight loss surgery.

    Pain

I was sore for about 3 days after my surgery and then I started feeling a burning sensation especially around my incisions and the left side of my stomache. It was SO PAINFUL and I could take the pain meds they gave me because it damages my liver so I just had to try to deal with the pain. I won't lie to you. It usually takes 4 weeks for the pain to go away. And whatever you do...avoid snezzing!!!

I will not find out the results until Tuesday. I hope they can tell me somthing. My cousin doctor told her it was all in her head. I wish my doctor would say that to me...that's fighting words...lol

I'm having the same issue at 8 weeks out. Also, having stomach pain anytime I eat or drink. I had to go do a swallow test so the surgeon can try to figure out what's going on. I went from eating 6 small meals to eating barely two for over 4 weeks now. I'm so low of energy.
  11. On Jan 9th I took the biggest decision I ever made into action and had the operation in Rocky Mount, NC. A week before my operation, my cousin underwent the same surgery. She was having some difficulties that left me second guessing on going through with it. Other family members were also telling me things they had heard about it. Needless to say walking into the hospital that day, I was very nerves but I prayed to GOD and a calmness settled over me. The surgery went very well and I only spent two days in the hospital. I have been staying with my parents for 2 weeks with no vomitting, no fever, some burning pain on my left side that is suppose to go away in a couple more weeks. Just had my 2 weeks follow up. I have lost 26 pounds, able to go back to work and to drive...so excited about that...lol. The hardest part for me was that my taste buds changed after surgery...might have been the meds...but everything including ice either tasted very sweet or salty to me which I didn't like. The shakes I had to take every 2 hrs became a problem after the first week bc of it's sweetness. U think u would love something that taste like a milkshake??? Now I'm on puree food for the next 4 weeks...so far I like it!
  12. I had my operation January 9th. Everything went very well to my greatest relief. I spent two days in the hospital and have been recovering at my parent's house for the past two weeks. The hardest part for me so far with this surgery as been the left side burning pain on my stomach I get sometimes when I sit down, stand up or "try" to lay down. It's slowly getting better. They "the doctors" tells me the pain will go away after 4 weeks...waiting to get there. I have not had any set backs what so ever. No vomiting, no fever, no overwhelming pain, etc. Of course I thank God every day for making this easy as possible. The other hard part for me is the two weeks of shakes every two hours. The shakes I use taste very good...too good...too sweet to me that I struggled with it after the first week. Gladly I have now moved on to puree which I will be doing for 4 weeks. Just had my follow up visit yesterday and I have lost 26 pounds.
