  1. I have my last appt with my NUT on may 2nd. At that point everything *should* be ready to submit to insurance. They are thinking last week of may or first week of June for me. I am having surgery in Norman w/ Dr. Ronnie Keith.
  2. I think I have to buy them from the dr office for their prices.... At least pre-op not that I am wanting to go against dr orders but I'll shop where I want after the fact. This is all just a game until insurance accepts and the deed is done.
  3. I am pre-op and have been using the same gummies as jjoyce282 for now. My dr's office is making me buy the bariatric advantage vitamins though and it looks like its going to be a min of $150 for a 90 day supply. They say these and my current iron/ centrum orange chewables aren't a suitable substitute. Not too happy about that- it seems that plenty of people go the route I've been going for post-op
  4. Ditto to Kimmy's post! And personally I have my last appt with my NUT b4 surgery on May 2nd all of my pre-op appts are done and info submitted to the surgeons office so that after that appt they will be able to send everything off to insurance. We are thinking last week of may or first week of June for me... Every day my mood about it changes a little happy, excited, scared, ready to get it over with!!! I hope that I am one of the one's saying this is the best decision I could have made.
  5. Being a pre-op I am glad to see posts like this so that if it happens to me maybe I won't go into freak out mode.... I've read about a lot of people who don't lose much for the first few weeks so before I go for surgery I plan on hiding my scale from myself for the first few weeks if I can stand it
  6. Well I guess the part I didn't like and don't like the most about the whole deal is that in my study when sleeping on my side/tummy like I always do at home, I had zero hypopneas. I only had the issue on my back which is never how I sleep and when I do wear the mask I can't sleep like I have my entire life. My machine is very small maybe 8"x8" would be a pretty close guess. I should wear it but I know that they said I had a very slight case and my machine is set very low. I gave it a very hard try making it work but I honestly get better sleep and feel much better without it. So to each their own that's just my experience.
  7. Good luck DeeJack08 I hope all goes well for you and that your recovery is smooth and quick!
  8. Thanks! Yeah I work in a "man's world" hahaha good thing about that is I've got quite a few of those boys wrapped and they are usually pretty good about handling the tough stuff when I can't or just don't want to so I'm sure they will help me out if I tell them to
  9. Thank you! Some days I feel like its dragging and others I feel like it's flying by. I believe I am making the right decision and I hope I find it to be true.
  10. I have lots of lifting and pushing/pulling too... I just hope I can get accommodations for a few weeks
  11. I don't know how long until ill be cleared to lift 75lbs and I think that will be a minimum to be off of restrictions :/
  12. I am a sheetmetal mechanic so fairly labor intensive I am planning for 3 weeks off but hoping I can just take two and go back to work on limited duty.
  13. Looking fabulous! I am glad your journey has went so well!
  14. I have a machine from several years ago and I hated it. I tried 4 different masks I woke up every night with the tubes wrapped around me or I would take the mask off without realizing it. One time I woke up and the machine was knocked off the nightstand and upside down on the floor with the tube ripped out of it. My ex husband didn't like it because it was too loud for him and it made a big impact on his "playtime". Needless to say I packed it away and quit using it. I don't knock any other things off of the nightstand in my sleep and I generally sleep through the night and feel rested if I get around 5+ hours of sleep..... I'll take it for my surgery but I hate that thing
  15. On the premier protein you might check amazon too you can get it as an add on item for I think takes a while to ship but I think it comes out a little cheaper if you buy ahead for later on... I have been getting samples of different things to try to find what I think will work for me haven't tried those yet.... I'm pre op and it looks like I'm gonna be on the list for late may/ early June
  16. Nice to meet you Alisha! I'm Ashley! Congrats on your WLS glad to hear you are doing well!
  17. Good to know that it will probably just be for a while and not forever
  18. I am fine giving up coffee/caffeine for surgery and post op for a while and forever even if I find that it bothers me, but honestly once I am back to working overtime when I am post op I generally rely on that little boost getting up at 2 am for work on certain days.... I just really hope it's only for a short while
  19. Kind of what I was thinking.... I have to see this particular NUT 4xs pre op but never post op per my insurance.... This NUT is picked by my doc but I really don't like some of the things she says (like that I will never be able to eat breakfast again for my whole life only protein shakes) so I plan on seeing another one post op to get some additional ideas/ information. I'm not really understanding why the coffee protein shake is a supposed no-go pre op either... I am still a couple months away from surgery
  20. I asked my NUT if the coffee chike protein was ok because I had ordered their sample pack and really liked that flavor and she said that was not on plan.... But surely caffeine is not banned forever so does anyone know?
  21. Maybe you could make some ice with crystal light to give it some flavor
  22. Thanks for your post I am just starting out I think I will be looking at a late May or June surgery date but not sure just yet. I like hearing people's "real" accounts of things because I want to feel as knowledgeable and prepared as I can beforehand.
