Bracing myself for the impact my sleeve will have on my relationship
Yeah I was married before and I was his second wife. He was 25 and I was 15 when we first got together got married when I was 18 divorced at 21. He got married again about two months after our divorce was finalized. The guy I'm with now is 29 and I am now 24 he's been married twice before and has a child. My ex-husband also had a kid and I swore to myself I would stay away from men with children. I like kids but there are always issues with the mother and weird boundary issues. But anyways I just know I need to focus on making myself happy and I won't struggle because I'm dragging some man along with me. Either he can be the kind of support that I need or I'll drop his butt and move on.

PB2...dry peanut butter
Has anyone tried the chocolate pb2? I just ordered a two pack on amazon that came with the regular and a chocolate version. I was thinking maybe it would give things a little Nutella type feel but didn't know.

Bracing myself for the impact my sleeve will have on my relationship
Thanks Key... I really will try to open up a bit in there and I hope I do find someone that I could lean on a bit. It seems with this, people that haven't been where we've been just don't understand. And I just don't know about the boy. I think I will do my very best to take it one moment at a time and pray for guidance through it.

Bracing myself for the impact my sleeve will have on my relationship
And I did sit down and explain my reasonings and also talked to him about his mom and dad both having heart surgery in their 50s and early 60s and he doesn't care. He doesn't see the correlation of health and what u put in your mouth

Bracing myself for the impact my sleeve will have on my relationship
I live in a small town and there's no support group around here... Lol that's one of the other "issues" I want to move(and was promised two years ago that it would be happening soon) He and I are forced to carpool because we work an hour away from the house and the babysitter is about that far away as well. My surgeon is about an hour away and the support group meetings are just too late in the evening to make it feasible to go on a regular basis right now. I do have to make one before I can schedule surgery but it will mean only getting about 4 hours of sleep max that night before work.

Bracing myself for the impact my sleeve will have on my relationship
Glad to have a place to vent for now... I've got a sucky support system. I just feel that me finally doing something for myself, something I am not doing for anyone but me, is not going to be the best thing for this relationship. And if that's the way it is, so be it. I am just bracing for impact.

There are other things that I'm not so happy with as well, I just think that this is going to be what eventually tips it all over.

Bracing myself for the impact my sleeve will have on my relationship
Lol I promise you all that he will not change I know that for sure. He is very stuck and a VERY picky eater. The only "vegetables" (he says these count) he will eat are ranch styled beans (branded kind ONLY) and instant mashed potatoes. No fruits at all. I know that food will be a constant battle in our house. The only reason it hasn't been is because I generally just give in because I am not a picky eater but I do refuse to cook two separate meals at dinner.

Bracing myself for the impact my sleeve will have on my relationship
I can feel it already. I am currently engaged (been together for 2 1/2 years) and I just know that our relationship won't make it through this. We haven't had any big issues throughout our relationship. At first when I told him I was thinking about WLS he told me I "wasn't that big" ( he didn't know my weight but I was 295 and am 5' 5") He eats VERY unhealthy and he was told his 5 year old daughter needs to lose weight at her last dr appt. I try to talk to him about eating better but he wants no part of it although he says he is "supportive" he doesn't realize that to me that means we all need to make changes. I just know that after my sleeve I will be forced to choose either taking care of myself or staying with him. I have never broken up with anyone (always been the dumpee) I can't stand the thought of it but I know where it's headed.... This sucks

What helps with preventing hair loss?
I am pre op and was wondering if all the people who say they have hair loss post op (after the initial 3 or 6 months or so) are sure that they have enough fat in their diet. Low fat diets are notorious for hair loss and I was wondering about how much fat we should eat... Does anyone post op keep track?

24 Newb in Ok-Scared, Excited, Nervous
I went to their seminar ( my mom's boyfriend/man friend/whatever they are had dr Walton about a year and a half ago) they won't accept my insurance and since I do have coverage for it, I looked around a bit more. Their program does look nice though and lots of happy people from there. If I were self pay I would go there way before traveling out of the country.

Frustrated by the NUTs hard sells
No this doc uses specific NUT.... I also was a little put off because they don't accept insurance... My ins pays for 6 nut. visits/year so that was a bummer too

Frustrated by the NUTs hard sells
Thanks for making me feel like I'm not crazy everyone! She told me I would need these for the rest of my life and that no protein shake or ensure or blah blah blah would be an adequate substitute. She said maybe I should think about the surgery more because a lifetime of shakes would be my reality. Now don't get me wrong I don't hate all I those things I like the Atkins shakes and EAS low carb (can't remember the name exactly) I am not against them I am against her pushing their over priced for-profit supplements. It made me feel like she was out to get a buck and not there to help me achieve my goals... Which I thought was her job...?

Frustrated by the NUTs hard sells
I just had my first appointment with my surgeon, and then my nutritionist. I like my doc pretty well and I feel confident having him as my surgeon. After the visit with the doc I met w/ the nut.. Per my ins. I have to have a 3 month supervised diet and as part of that she told me that we would start with replacing 2 meals a week with meal replacement shake and work our way up. Then she goes on to hard sell me this stuff that's $60! "Specially formulated for bariatric patients." Whatever! She told me I would have to be on this for the REST OF MY LIFE if I had the surgery. I told her I thought that you worked towards getting what you need from actual food and she said that's not what she recommends..... WHAT???!?! so after a little back and forth she pulls a magic list of other options that can be purchased from gnc or whatever. It really pissed me off that she was hard core hard selling that crap! I bought it because I will not let this disagreement delay anything, but after surgery I will find a different nutritionist and do what I feel is best for me. I want to experiment and find a brand that I like and am willing to work with I don't want her shoving one or two options down my throat and saying that's my only option, because I know that's not true. There are tons of meal replacements out there to choose from!

Mexico?
I have my first visit with my surgeon and NUT today... I went to a few seminars before I picked a place and I guess I am a "lucky one" too with the ins. BCBS FEP and from what I understand I've gotta do a 3 month supervised diet and the other prerequisites have already been met or will be by this docs program... I am nervous about what they will say. So far the only thing I know isn't going my way is that my doc uses a certain NUT and she doesn't accept my ins. Even though I get 6 visits free a year to someone in-network. The pre-op NUT visits are going to cost over half of what the surgery will cost but I won't let that hold me back one single day! The more I read and learn about this the more I wonder why I haven't already done it!

Best websites for lingerie?
I've been able to find things in my size it's just that I don't WANT to wear them anymore because of that.... I have never been small but at some point I just stopped feeling sexy in them. Like I said, I sure hope the confidence comes back because I did enjoy it. I guess time will tell...

Awesome... I haven't really bought any in recent years but I hope sometime after surgery that I will gain my confidence back. I used to really love dressing up!

Federal Blue Cross And Plastic Surgery
I have FEP Blue and haven't had my surgery yet but this possibility makes me hopeful! I don't know how bad the skin issues will be and I have already been trying to think up a plan to round up funding so any coverage would be awesome
