  1. I'm sorry, I guess mentioning that I'm fresh out from surgery would have helped in this conversation! I honesty believe that I will be fine getting my protein intake in once I'm able to have soft foods and so forth, it's this liquid stage with my senses being out of wack that us getting the best of me. Things that tasted good prior to surgery, now taste bad to me. Same with smell. It's off. I have made sure to keep my Protein Shake chilled, and I drink it over ice. It's not "frozen cold" but it's cold enough to tolerate. I couldn't imagine trying to drink them at room temp. Yikes!
  2. Okay... I need some help. I was absolutely wild about Premier Protein prior to surgery. I could drink them no problem. I had an ounce of one today, and it made me want to gag. Not so much the taste, but the consistency. Are there any alternatives to protein shakes (and please don't say Greek Yogurt!!! Can't handle that stuff either)....
  3. Same here! I have it trapped in my abdomen and my upper back... Feels like I need to be burped. Ha!
  4. Ha! I am so glad to hear that I am not alone with this issue. I don't understand how it can effect our sense of smell, but it definitely has taken its toll. My husband went to the vending machine in the hospital, and came back to my room with a bad of Funions and a soda. I told him that if he was going to eat this chips, he was going to have to do it fast! Sure enough, as soon as he opened the bag it was instant nausea for me.
  5. I had my surgery on the 26th, and I'm noticing that my sense of smell has gone wild! Am I alone in this? Everything the people eat around me makes me want to vomit. Smelling things that never bothered me before now makes me in edge. Is this a side effect of the surgery? It is this just me being crazy???
  6. Best of luck to you!!! I had mine done on the 26th. Just remember everyday does get a bit easier.
  7. Thank you! Surgery went great. Now I just need to get all of the gases out of my system and I will be doing great. Had minimal pain after surgery, but horrible nausea. I couldn't get up without vomiting. I would walk the hallways of the hospital at night have to make out stops at every garbage can along with way. I think this nausea was partially from the Morohine and partial from the gases. I only took a dose or two of Morohine as then figured that I would rather deal with pain than vomiting... Needless to say it didn't make a huge difference. Vomiting continued well until I was home and resting.
  8. Surgery went great! My pain is minimal... Nausea is horrific!!! I keep dry heaving.
  9. Awesome!!! I'm checking in at 8am! Best of luck!
  10. Thanks! I will post as soon as I'm coherent enough to. Ha! I'm willing to push through some pain and discomfort for a second chance at getting this right. I grew up skinny and fit. I didn't gain my weight until I had my daughter. I gained a little weight and thought I was doomed. I just kind of gave up. If only I would have changed my mindset at that point, and worked out and ate better, I wouldn't be here where I'm at today. I'm just grateful to have a chance to get back there and do it right this time.
  11. Congrats!!! You are looking beautiful and full of confidence!!! That's PRICELESS!!!
  12. Auggghhh... As I just titled my new post as "Surgery TOMORROW".... LOOOOL! I read your post and couldn't help but laugh.
  13. Are you having yours tomorrow too????
  14. OMG! My surgery is tomorrow morning! I am so very excited to get this show on the road! I'm having the normal "day before" fears, but I think I'm good to go. I've been blessed with such a great support team to be me this far.
