  1. Lab work and EKG came back great... Psych eval this morning! I still have 3 of my 4 lbs to lose... Gotta focus! Hey can someone tell me when it comes to paying my inpatient "Copay" is that done how it is in the clinic (prior to the service)??? Or is it something they bill you for??? I'm assuming it gets paid before, but thought I'd ask.... kimi
  2. So today's visit went pretty amazing! I have lost another 5 lbs (since my orientation). That is a total of 16lbs down. Dr Chu has asked hat I lose another 4 lbs. I can sooooo do that! She told me that I am a perfect candidate for this surgery. Dietitian meeting went great. The coordinator told me that I need to knock out my psych eval, lose my 4lbs, have my lab work and EKG done and then I'm good to go. He told me once those things are done I will be placed on the wait list. I was told Dr Chu's wait list is about a month to a month and half out. I have my psych eval next Thursday morning. So things are mouth right along! Words cannot describe how excited I am!!! ???? Does anyone know about the process for the EKG??? kimi
  3. That's what I was told during my orientation. That my goal weight would be given at this appointment. In thinking it will be the normal 10% (less would be nice, but I'm preparing for 10%). If that is the case, I'll have about 12lbs to lose still. I'm down 11lbs or so from my original weigh in (highest weight). Fingers crossed!!! kimi
  4. Tomorrow is my consult with Dr. Chu, my dietitian and the Program Coordinator. Super excited!!! And slightly nervous... kimi
  5. Thank you for all of that information!!! I CAN NOT wait to run! That is one of the top things on my "to do list". Your breakdown if foods and exercise sound very reasonable. Nothing extreme. Congrats on your hard work. It's good to see people that use this tool to the best of its advantage, rather than expecting the weight to magically fall off. Super proud of you and your train of thought!!!!
  6. I'm scheduled with Dr Chu. She hosted my orientations and I loved her vibe.
  7. It's so crappy that you have to meet a certain requirement... Considering you have to lose weight before you can actually have your surgery anyway! (Or at least that's one of my requirements). So frustrating. You pay so much for your insurance... And then have to jump through so many dang hoops...
  8. Chiobani tasted like soap to me... Idk if I was having an off day or hat, but it tasted awful!
  9. I'm not a fan of Greek yogurt, however today I bought Dannon's Greek yogurt. I have to say that I was very impressed. It was black cherry fruit a the bottom. I will definitely buy more of these!!! The ratio if protein/calories in Greek yogurts vs. regular yogurt is worth trying it!
  10. Thank you!!! They said thy if all goes well, that surgery will be in TWO months!!! Happy holidays to you too!!!
  11. Orientation was great. I have my consult appointment on Thursday January 3rd!!!
  12. Ha! That's funny! That's good to know. I really want my husband to go to understand all that I will be going through and what will be expected of me.
  13. Does anyone know if I can take my husband with me to the orientation????
  14. I got my surgery orientation date!!! THIS Sunday the 23rd!!!! Woo-Hoo!!!
  15. That is so awesome!!! What is the date you start your process???
  16. I met with my doctor today... Got my referral to the bariatric program! Woo-Hoo!
  17. I too have mirena and I would HIGHLY recommend it! I have to be honest and say that the discomfort of the insertion is ridiculous... But it's completely worth the pain. I didn't have any bleeding or cramping after it was inserted. What use to be full 7 day heavy periods are now pretty much non existent. I might have one day or so at the most. I've had mine in for a little over two years now.
  18. It was pretty informative. A little disappointed in how vague the information was though. It was more of a "there are other options than surgery" kind I class. No specifics about the surgeries or the details about the process. I'm meeting with my PCP in Tuesday to ask for my referral.
  19. That is good to know! I'm so ready to start getting some of this weight off. Unfortunately, I have purposely gained weight (I know.. I know... Not a smart move) but I have my personal reasons for doing it. Anywho, I'm counting the days until I can start losing! And really looking forward to being able to start losing and keeping it off!!!
  20. That is great!!! Hearing your story makes me so happy and hopeful! I would ideally like to have my surgery done that last week of March. Mainly for missing work, but we shall see.
  21. Well glad that the first day wasn't too bad. Do you feel like you are getting around as "normal"? Or do you feel that you still have to take it easy? I am a medical biller, so I sit most of my days Ido walk on my 15 min breaks and sometimes at lunch. I'm very excited about my class on Thursday. Ready to get this ball rolling.
