  1. Saw that. Here is another article that is a great counterpoint to that article. http://www.medpagetoday.com/Cardiology/MyocardialInfarction/38422
  2. I've been taking it daily for about 2 weeks and feel a difference in my energy levels. There is an article that just came out poo-poo'ing it. Unread another from Mayo that said it was ok.
  3. Went to Costco today. Couldn't find them. Frisco Texas Costco. :-(
  4. Trying to avoid as much of the salt as possible. Mostly garlic and onion powder. Seems if you don't salt the heck out of it in some way (soy sauce etc) it doesn't taste good.
  5. I hope this gains some views. I bought a dehydrator for the exact same reason and so far my "healthy" jerky tastes like crap.
  6. I live off of Quest bars. I think they are some of the best out there. Mixed Berry is my favorite.
  7. We have the Blendtec. LOVE IT.
  8. 75...haven't updated the counter. :-)
  9. I hope you're right!
  10. How easy is it to stretch your stomach after surgery? I'm almost 5 months post op. noticed lately I can drink a ton more water than a month or two ago.
  11. I use Garden of Life Raw Meal. (Vanilla). I then it's amazing.
  12. Times vary. By week four I was on lumpy stuff but I wish I'd have stayed on clear liquids. I'm 3 months post op now. Check out Isopure Protein drinks. They are clear liquids with every flavor you can imagine and 40 grams of Whey Protein. I use them to this day. They are like kool-aide with no crap in them.
  13. I got one a few weeks ago. I find the counts are fairly off but I like to see the fuel in terms of knowing I need to go do more activity. I wish it would work on things like the stationary bike. I put it in on my shoe string but it still didn't work. I'd say anything that gets you motivated to move your butt is a good thing.
  14. Here is a great article on the nuts and bolts of Protein. http://www.menshealth.com/mhlists/guide-to-protein/?cm_mmc=YTPG-_-4%20Muscle%20Myths%20Debunked-_-Entry-_-The_Truth_about_Protein
  15. I'm 3 mos out and have similar problems. I think mine is in my head though. I'll eat a piece of prime rib no problem, then get nausea eating a plain piece of chicken.
  16. Are you all saying 50ish grams of carbs per DAY or per SERVING?
  17. I've settled on Quest Bars. More than tasty enough with a ton of protein and fiber. Heat them up a bit for a really tummy treat. Buy on Amazon for best price.
  18. Why not other forms of calcium?
  19. Following orders but curious as to why? Never had an acid problem prior to surgery.
  20. How much do you take and how often and in what?
  21. Men's clothing. Assorted. Jeans, shorts, Polo golf shirts, etc. 44-46 waist 2xl and 3xl on shirts. A lot of it is in excellent if not near new. Some worn but in good condition. More than happy to give away.
  22. How much do they cost?
  23. I've seen the video. The issue is with gastric bypass the stomach is bypassed which routes everything directly to the pylorus. With the sleeve the function of the pylorus totally remains the same as a normal stomach which means the premise of the apple sauce is not as applicable as it would be for a gastric bypass. Here is one site: http://drsimpson.net/07_surgery_stories%20(ss)/7_ss_02/duodenal%20switch/duodenal_switch.htm Go to third section, "With the Duodenal Switch the Pylorus remains functional"
