  1. Also finding mint tea sweetened w stevia feels really nice on my throat.
  2. Can you see a nutritionist like from the approvl stage (if you had that pre op)? Maybe s/he can help figure out a way to reset and suggest a meal plan that allows you to breast feed, etc and get the best nutrients for you and your baby.
  3. Same here. I have reminders in Outlook to help me break up my day, eat, stretch. And found some great iPhone apps with quick exercises I can do in my office with a resistance band (all free - just search 'free exercise' in the App Store. Good luck!
  4. Hahahaha. I am surprised how much I've been peeing in comparison w my intake, tho I'm also hooked to an IV. With the unjury be careful not to heat the Water past 140 degrees. I ignored that b/c I didn't want warm liquid, I wanted hot and it got totally funky and had to throw it away.
  5. Asked my surgeon - he said there is just one standard size realize band and that is what I got. That there used to be a smaller and larger size and now they just use the larger. Also I have no fill to start with - had read some ppl get a small amt of fill in surgery. Just waiting in upper GI and then can get discharged. Ice pack on my belly is my new fave thing. Basically had it on for the last 16 hrs.
  6. My sister said she would dig up some kind of belly band she had from her pregnancy/post pregnancy and I might try that.
  7. I haven't had any coughing but I did have some broth that made me feel like my stomach was bloating and hurt a bit. Took a longer walk and that helped. Right now my incisions and a persistent headache are the pain sources but they are bearable. Of course the morphine helps
  8. My nurse said it was fine so long as the band doesn't press on the incision. It is helping a ton.
  9. Glad u are doing well on the whole, winkie! I also requested a fan. I could t sleep at all. Partly b/c it is so bright in my room from the hallway lights. I would add an eye mask to the list and also a sports bra if you are large chested. One of my breasts was pressing on an I incision and my sis brought over a pull over racerback sports bra that has helped a ton. I'm actually surprised I haven't seen this come up before since I'm guessing I am not the first with this issue. I have peed lots and walked lots and very little gas pain (so far). Mainly incision pain and headache. Still feel great about this decision!
  10. Anyone just banded having trouble sleeping? It's not fully discomfort - I'm just not sleepy. The nurse here at the hospital keeps telling me the morphine will make me sleepy but that just isn't happening
  11. Hope everyone banded yesterday is feeling empowered for this brave thing we did, and that the healing is already happening! Feel better every day!!
  12. Have you noticed of it happens with any patern? After you eat or drink a certain thing? Since you can't see your surgeon with ease, I'd recommend noting anything you can about the sensation for when you talk to him/her. Also is there a PCP closer by you who can help? Good luck!
  13. My sis brought a sports bra and it is helping a ton! Just have to keep the band from touching the incision but that hasn't been a problem. Highly recommend bringing one with you!
  14. I have been experiencing these today... Hiccurp. Or burcup.
  15. Had surgery today. This boob thing is causing som discomfort. I wedged a washcloth in there to prop it up a bit, but it isn't solving the situation. My sister is bringing me a sports bra to try. Anyone else have this happen? Did you find a solution?
  16. Just asked and my hospital doesn't have them. Th nurse did say it would be ok for my sister to bring me a sports bra to wear... One of my breasts is pressing on an incision and so long as the bra is pulled up high enough to avoid the incision I can try it out.
  17. That is an ambitious goal! I was just banded today so I can't speak from experience yet, but from what I've read the avg band loss is 1-2lbs/wk if you follow the band guidelines. I've also read that it isn't uncommon o plateau or gain a little when you switch back to solids/before you are filled. Good luck!
  18. Good tip - I will ask a about it. I think you we're also the one who recommended I bring Chapstick an that was sooooo needed today! Thank you
  19. Same here - walking allowed me to burp. I've been counting them and announcing them to my nurses
  20. I was also banded this morning and for hours try didn't want me sipping Water or having ice and that was the worst part, thank goodness. I am staying overnight - standard practice for my surgical group I guess - but was told all went very well and he was done in less than an hour. I am appreciating the morphine for sure - and have had some sips of water, broth, and SF Jello. Ice pack on the belly. Incision pain has been more acute than gas pain. Much love to everyone on this site - the support has been so amazing. I really felt comfortable and confident as I walked to the hospital this morning and I know a lot of that was from the ppl on LBT! High fives to my July bandsters and 7/11 band twins!!
  21. ... I don't have my period today (band day). I cannot imagine changing a tampon right now!
  22. You look great! Terrific job workin at it this year - it def shows.
