  1. This is the only place besides my doc file that shows my weight. It feels safe here. My husband and fam know I found a site I love, and I've told my surgeon about it so he can pass the word to other patients - but I don't think anyone who knows I'm on here has gone looking for me. I'm sure my hubs is able to otherwise occupy his time online with porn and videos of kittens sneezing and falling off of things.
  2. I also have Cigna. The first response (denied) took abt 2 weeks. But it was easy to appeal - they just needed one other piece of documentation we already had. Once your review is started with them there should be a specific person reviewing your case - that is how it was with mine. So when I was denied my surgeon's nurse was able to call this person directly and then the appeal/approval happened in less then a week. Then it took 5 weeks until my surgery date. Hang in there!
  3. Good luck girl! Congrats on loss so far. Let us know how u r doing!
  4. Day 5 post op and attempted to work a half day f home office. 90 min at desk did me in. I'm pooped.
  5. I'd walk - even slowly - to see if that helps, and call your doctor.
  6. Oh dear lord. I had my first BM today (5 days post op). I sooo regret not taking a stool softener from the jump. It was the most pain I've experienced yet as part of this. I will try to spare the worst parts but will say it took about 35 min and it was bloody. Everything was compacted it was like expelling dry, hard rocks. I can't promise stool softeners will help because I didn't use them but I'm damn sure buying some today.
  7. I skipped the pain meds last night in favor of Tylenol PM and slept 9 hrs last night!
  8. Got in 88g of Protein today. 4 isopures and one unjury protein scoop in skim milk. Stomach continues to be swollen in lumpy ways. Maybe I will try the scale tomorrow. Don't wanna get discouraged with adema from surgery tho. I have a follow up with my surgeon in about a week (10 days post surg). I think I am also supposed to make one with my PCP. Started to feel hungry today. Looking fwd to puréed Soups and applesauce on thurs!
  9. I'm supposed to have 70+g protein and at least 64oz liquid (protein shakes count). Those goals are true for recovery time as well as just for the foreseeable future.
  10. I'm pretty swollen too - tho it is now swollen in lumps around the incisions vs uniformly swollen.
  11. I've been in my own bed since being discharged on fri. It is kinda high which I find helps. I can get on:off the bed, couch, chairs, toilet by myself. Today is the first day I've felt hungry at all. My diet stipulates "full" liquids for 1 week. So far I've stayed on clears because they seemed more appealing o sip over long periods. I will try a shake tonight tho. My incision soreness remains my top pain. Gas hasn't been too bad. I have ice packs on me most of the time. I'm planning to work a half day tomorrow afternoon (work from home office). About to try a longer walk now... Wish me luck!
  12. I'm doing a half day tomorrow (I work from home).
  13. If you are large chested I recommend a sports bra. I have heard some docs rec against them but mine was fine with it so long as the band didn't press on any incisions. Without it, one of my breasts was pressing on an incision and causing lots of discomfort. The bra helped a lot.
  14. I have a little party every time I burp or fart these days.
  15. I walk a block or so several times a day.
  16. Yes on the pain meds/constipation. Not sure abt the lower gas pains
  17. U wanna keep liquids coming in tho - ward off dehydration. I sip all day long.
