The other day while doing a little bit of research I found a paper written on the lap band and there were many comments on the bottom and one lady said that at the beginning stages of her lapband she ate with a baby fork and spoon until she retrained her self to eat small bits! Has any one done this? And does it work if so?

At first I wanted the sleeve and at the last minute as of 2 weeks ago my insurance will not cover it! I am not trying to be rude or hateful and I understand that people have bad days but I have been noticing a lot of rude comments from cheznole from my very first post when I asked about protien shakes!I was under the impression this is a support group! I am finding support from a friend that had the gastric bypass and another that had the sleeve!

I am not sure that paying out of pocket wouldn't be cheaper than your insurance cost per month some doctors have payment plans I would check it out and it might speed up your surgery!

I googled it and everything that I am reading says it does as long as you have a bmi over 40 and one commobity such as sleep apena, high blood pressure,dieabites! Good luck honey in you journey!

I know the feeling and congrats I got my approval from my insurance today! The first day of our new lives! So very excited! my doctors office said I could be banded be as little as 3 weeks!

I have done all my classes but now I am just waiting on the surgicial staff to call to meet with the surgeion! They told me I would only have to do a week of pre op diet! I nerveous about that part but I am going to make that week go by real fast with house work and I mean deep cleaning!

Well this is a good way to release some of the pain! So when I was in high school I had the biggest crush on this guy I mean honestly to the point of stocking him (so stupid) well someone told him and he basiclly said I wouldn't go out with her what so ever but if you put a flag over her I would f**k her for the glory! Ever since I have had low self esteem but always made it seem like it didn't bother me this young boy hurt me and honestly I don't think I have ever forgiven him but even thou him and I are friends but his life is kinda sad he is a drunk.

I am now waiting and its driving me nuts! Please no one jump down my neck cause you don't know my story!

I am setting here waiting on the approval from my insurance and I am wondering (stressing) on the pre op diet? I am worried I am going to fail! I understand that the hole purpose of the pre op diet is to shrink the liver but I am scared I am going to cheat having to do liquids only!

How did you all go about telling your family and Friends you wanted/needed the lapband! My family and Friends are very supportive but I am worried about telling them?
