  1. I had "spotting" with my first child (I wouldn't categorize it as spotting because to me it was quite heavy) and was sure each time it happened that I had miscarried..I would call the Dr. crying telling them it was all over the baby is gone and they would have me come in anyway 'just to be sure'...well I delivered a beautiful healthy baby girl almost 5 years ago...so I can testify that spotting doesn't always mean anything...whatever you do...DO NOT get on the internet and research every little spasm, pain, cramp, spottiness etc...I drove myself NUTSO with all my symptoms and with this pregnancy i've avoided it and i'm much happier and more relaxed.
  2. I don't fully understand what is involved with stripping the membranes, but it sounds...painful? Let us know if this helps and/or if you just need to vent some more...you deserve it!
  3. I'm still here...i'm prego so not really living the lapband lifestyle...in fact I have been eating hamburgers....it's nice since I hadn't had one for almost 2 years..but once I deliver, I need to get back on the bandwagon!! Where is everyone else?? Has everyone just went and gotten all skinny on us and quit following lapbandtalk?
  4. I'm so sorry! I can feel your frustration. I pray you will go into labor soon. You may want to call your local masseusse, I have "heard" that there is a certain spot on your foot that can induce labor (I know there is no scientific proof, but I can see that you are ready to try anything at this point) or even have your husband give you a thorough foot rub and maybe he will hit the right spot...if not, you got a good foot rub out of the deal and hey what can that hurt??? Remember we are all here praying and for those who don't pray-sending positive energy your way. -Renee
  5. This week i'm starting to feel restriction again. On a bite of rice I had a PB! No kidding, it shocked me! I think with the growing baby inside of me it pushed what little fluid was still in my tubing up into the lapband and is causing it to be tighter, that and it could also be fluid retention...I would NOT recommend getting any fills while pregnant! You have WAY too many other things to worry about than your band. Renee
  6. I felt that way in the beginning but now i'm worried as I really didn't think with my newer healthier eating habits I would have gained this much this fast....thanks for the support though.
  7. I know what you mean about dog tired..my first trimester could barely make it from bed each morning down the stairs and to the couch....it passes when you get to your second trimester.....just think about it being natures was of making sure your baby gets a good strong hold on life in your uterus! I got online and ordered ALOT of books from the local library and picked them all up at once and started reading like crazy...it helps keep your mind off of how tired you feel. Renee
  8. Hi all...I haven't posted to lapband lately as i've been busy being pregnant...LOL Seriously, the first 3 months were awful, now i'm at 23 weeks and have been feeling better for a few weeks and actually out and about doing things... I need to vent though as i'm starting to get concerned. I had finally gotten down to 200 lbs before I got pregnant and was working HARD for onederland...when I got pregnant I said "i'm not going to worry about my weight" then I got an almost total unfill (there was a small amount left in there they couldn't get) but I was suddenly able to eat anything and I had a burger and it was (i'm not kidding) orgasmic! Well i've had a burger at least once a week since i've gotten pregnant and sometimes fries and/or onion rings and i've really put on the weight (I weighed in this am at 230 lbs!) my doctor told me at my last appointment (I was 225) that I shouldn't worry as i've only put on 13 lbs, but I told her the first 12 pounds happened before I even made it in for my first intake appointment!!!! So now i'm up 30 lbs and i'm starting to feel really scared. I walk 2-4x a week but the weather is getting pretty hot so if I spend alot of time cleaning house on hot days I feel my exercise level if adequate, I eat at least an apple a day to keep my fiber up, but my body is just packing on the pounds and I don't want to have to lose 50 lbs after this baby is born...I think the reason i'm packing on lbs alot is because I drink milk with every meal (I'm really craving it) but i've switched to 1% and i'm still packing on the lbs....thanks for letting me vent, now I feel better! On a lighter note, I found out the baby is a boy, he appears healthy and well developed and he is a mover and shaker!! He loves the sound of his big sisters voice, when she's a talking he's a movin! Daddy is really excited too and loves to put his head on my tummy to be close to his new son. This baby is going to be so loved and a valuable member of our family....regardless of how fat his mommy is. :crying:
  9. These days being 39 is not a huge concern...we have the BEST healthcare available to us...the doctors will put you through EXTRA tests etc. to be sure your baby is okay...as for your weight you are not doing bad at all! My first child I weighed 250 lbs when I got prego and I was 35, I actually didn't gain much weight with that baby because I ATE everything I wanted to anyway...that is WHY I was so heavy...now i'm banded, it's four years later and i'm at 200 lbs....all I have to say is take it easy on the sweets, try to get some walking in, do what your doctor says and be relaxed....trust me it will make a BIG difference on the temperament of your child by how relaxed or NOT you are!! oh and CONGRATS! :tongue_smilie:
  10. I'm pretty sure my port is flipped already...I sent Dr. Ortiz an email and he hasn't responded, I think I need to contact his office help but right now getting enough calories and nutrition in is my Main concern...i'm soooo tight...argh-I don't want a sickly baby...
  11. fyi: I'm scheduled for an unfill on the 27th.
  12. Okay its official! The test (s) came out positive this AM, we're having a baby! Yeah!!!!!!!!
  13. Dear God, I PRAY I AM PREGNANT. If not then I have a problem. I haven't had a fill in a year! If I am prego I can only be 2 -2 1/2 weeks along! I just can't seem to get much down (in the eves I can do soup, the rest of the day, water is a struggle), but I'm taking it slow to be sure to not make the issue worse with dehydration. Thank you for your input! Pray for me! I'm going to give it a couple more days before scheduling an appointment for an unfill. Renee
  14. I've heard from other bandsters that one of their first signs of pregnancy was that they were all of a sudden tight and doing liquids didn't help (this was of course before the test even showed positive) did you experience any unusual tightness? I've been experiencing all the signs of pregnancy these past few days but my tests are still showing negative...and i'm REALLY tight..argh
  15. So are we going to continue on this thread or start a 2009 one???
  16. Yes most definitely on liquids for the next 24 hours AT LEAST! Ouch i'm so sorry that happened to you, I can feel it just in sympathy....I HATE that feeling.
  17. I'm still stuck at 200! Sooooooo close yet not quite there. I've been hitting the gym but building muscle so I know it's just gonna Drop in a few days...
  18. I'm sorry you feel awful, I totally understand. Maybe you should tell them to be really aggressive on your fills and then when you do the liquid diet it will jumpstart the weight loss and you will start to feel better...which as you know will snowball the weight loss...as you FEEL better you move more and then lose faster..and so on..
  19. Welcome back and congrats on the healthy bouncing baby!! You'll lose it quickly (those new pounds are always the easiest to shed!!) and be back kicking all of our butts in no time!!
  20. I just put this up for sale on ebay if anyone is interested click here
  21. These are GREAT tools for bandsters, however, a tool I haven't used much and thought it was time to put it up for sale. If you are interested, I have it posted on ebay click here. Thanks for looking and good luck in the new year!!
  22. Happy New Year All! Well I have good news and I have bad news....bad news first...I didn't make my goal of Onderland by the end of 2008! HOWEVER, I weighed in at 200.00! So even one ounce more and i'm below 200!! Today i'm going to focus on water, exercise and not weigh myself for a few days (I seem to have contracted a cough over New Years-my husband said it was because I was kissing everybody which is soooo not true, I kissed two other guys and only because they didn't have anyone to kiss at midnight! So first I kissed my husband and then I gave two other sweeties little pecks and wished them a happy 2009) I really don't think such a sweet gesture could possibly have made me sick, I must have gotten it somewhere else...hm.. Wish me luck on the loss of another ounce (at least) over the course of this week.
  23. trust me, I understand, i've been at 201 for the past 2 months (during Halloween/Thanksgiving I fluctuated about 2lbs, now the scale finally dropped below 201), i'm happy as a clam, I want ONDERLAND so bad I can taste it...and hopefully it doesn't have any calories! I know once the Holidays are all done, i'll be fine as when sugar is around I tend to graze, but once it's gone I drop (slowly but steady) but when it's around i'm happy to just maintain! Good luck and I know we'll both be there by the NEW YEAR so just enjoy.
  24. Great job! I weighed in at 200.6 this am, maybe we'll cross Onderland together!!!!!!!
  25. that is so true! Stay strong. Get the water in and protein, you're like me, very slow loser, but it does add up over time...
