  1. my full liquid diet is anything I can blend smooth and thin to pour off a spoon. Mix it up.
  2. My surgery was on the 22nd. I go tomorrow and have staples out then go for fill end of Feb.
  3. Prayers going to you. That will be a bummer.

  5. Chantelle hang in there everyday gets better. I am a couple days ahead of you and feeling much better. Today has been my best day yet. I was banded on the 22nd

  7. Surgery was about 84 hrs ago. Yes for me everyday has gotten better, I wish the nausea would go away. I know I did not eat enough today will try to do better tomorrow. Me not eat enough now that's funny.
  8. ok a little over 48 hrs post surgery. think I laid in bed way to long this morning. Now I am up and moving. feel better. just small amount of pain in shoulders and big incision. 1-10 probably a 3-4. the coughing to clear lungs is the worst. but it has to be done. it looked like a hair ball this morning helps to hold belly I was in hospital one night and stayed in hotel one block from hospital 2nd night. I am gonna gather my things and head home shortly.
  9. I am 36 hrs post op I feel pretty good. We went from softball size sore spot in each shoulder to golf ball sized overnight.(gas).
  10. I will be checking into hospital in one hour. I will see you all on the other side. Thanks for all the knowledge, advice, and encouragement.
  11. I love love love this post. I will be among the blessed and banded in about 14 hours. This was such good info. Everybody that has, is getting, or cares about someone with or getting lapband needs to read this.

  13. I love this. I was just talking to my sister last night and told her my new motto was gonna be, "Don't let your failure today be an excuse for failure tomorrow. We were talking about my struggle to quit smoking and it fits this battle of the bulge as well.

  16. Yes because my primary Dr gave the referral for everything. Had to have psych exam, cardiology, pulmonary, Drug test, and I think a couple other things I can't remember right now. All states are different. My primary dr and the surgeons office worked together to get it done.
  17. I have read this before I don't know if it was your post but thanks. I decided the first time I read it that is what I will do every time whether dr requires it or not. Dr. is a 35 mile drive so better safe then sorry.
  18. I was just approved on Nebraska Medicaid last month. Surgery is Jan 22. My surgeons insurance person was awesome letting me know exactly what I needed to do. She made sure we had jumped through all of there hoops before sending request. Could not have done it without her. So far as physical condition I have at least 3 condition's related to obesity my Bmi is off the chart. I am considered morbidly obese.
  19. thanks guys. I guess I gotta start measuring my ingredients. Doubt if a handful of this and a shake of that are in there.
  20. How do you determine the calories in something you made from scratch? For example I made homemade beef and drop noodles and had 1 cup. How do I determine the calories?

    I think there are a lot of people getting their lap band and care from bad places that don't educate and give proper info. They just wanna get em in get there money and if they succeed they succeed and if not oh well maybe we can make a little more off them with removal or revision. I am so glad I have the surgeon and his team that I do. Unfortunately I don't think everyone does. When you team that poor care/ info with a lack of common sense you get failure.
  22. Donna if you do the math and continue to lose 14lbs every 9 weeks that is 80lbs a year and you have the band to help you keep it off and continue losing. Can you say that about any diet you have ever been on.
