    Gas in my chest

The gas x strips that dissolve in your mouth help. Walking helps a lot too. I was just sleeved on 4/14.. It gets better!
  2. Had sleeve done 4/14/15. Currently am on clear liquids. However the broths are killing me, so much sodium and making my mouth dry. I'm still trying to consume enough water as it is daily. Any suggestions or brands to look out for? Appreciate any help!
  3. I agree. I sleep on my stomach as well. I was sleeved last Tuesday by Thursday I was on my side with a pillow then gradually back to my stomach. As long as I moved slow, I found it comfortable.

    Completely Frustrated

I have never had the Nectar fuzzy navel protein.. I am looking for some other protein shakes to mix it up. I have had some luck with just the powder and Carbmaster Vanilla flavored milk. That's pretty good too!

    Completely Frustrated

It just takes time. You didn't put the weight on overnight and you won't lose it overnight. We all have bad days or little bumps in the road.. It's normal. Try making small goals for yourself. See the victories in your accomplishments throughout the day, no matter how small you think it may be.. Give yourself some credit and don't be so hard on yourself. We are our own worst judge and critic sometime. Keep your head up!

    Pain After Surgery

Last April I had to have emergency removal of my lap band. That was a very hard and painful ordeal for me. I overcame many fears and I was just sleeved on 4/14/15. This surgery recovery and healing is much better than what I experienced last year. I truly am surprised at how it's been going well. I was very nauseous the first few days. It was difficult to function this way and with such low calorie intake. But after about 3 days, it got a lot better. I was able to start taking in more fluids and even small bits of my protein shake. The Pepcid complete, gas X strips and vitamins daily really do help!! Just be patient and don't over due yourself. I know everyone's journey is different. But just know it will get better. Just one day at a time.

    Completely Frustrated

Hang in there. Everybody is different. I too myself was sleeved 8 days ago and am trying to adjust to different things. For me it's mainly a mental game. The mental hunger, the desires for foods I ate before. I personally have become comfortable with others eating and I am not. It's not easy, but just try to keep the focus on you and your goals. I have had a lot of luck with premiere protein shakes from Sam's club. It helps to make me feel fuller and cut cravings. Do you have a protein shake you like?

    Panic attacks and anxiety post-op

I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks too. I do have medication to help assist with that. I just had the sleeve on 4/14/15. I am actually feeling pretty good so far post op. I honestly haven't had any panic attacks in relation to the sleeve. It's usually everything else around I dwell on and think about constantly that stresses me out. This would lead to me feeding my anxiety and stress with eating or going to have drinks. Just try to find different outlets for you to control or deflect your anxiety. This is an exciting new time for you. Take it just one day at a time, everything else will fall in place.

    Post Op diet questions.

Yeah. Premier protein is working really well. I'm just trying to mix it up. This week I can have cream soups, so maybe that will help a little. I just hate having dry mouth all day.
  10. Hi. My weight loss journey has been filled with many ups and downs my whole life. This especially started in Dec of 2012 when I was banded. I started at 339lbs after about 7months I kept throwing up. I had band released as well had upper GI tests done. I was told everything was fin and in place. By April 2014, I spent 1 week hospitalized and had emergency removal of the band. I couldn't even hold down water and was 257lbs. I have had so many emotional struggles with this, eating too much, not wanting to eat at all. Each day is a constant battle. I still continue to workout and use what I've learned with the band. However, my surgeon wants to make it right and has suggested I get the sleeve. My body is healed, but I don't know if I can go through all this again. I've been reading on the sleeve. I just would like honest and real thoughts, experiences and opinions on the sleeve. I currently am 283lbs now.
  11. Thank you very much for your feedback. I think the scariest for me is going through it all again. But this time, they are actually taking part of my stomach out. I just keep thinking of that... Kind of makes me frazzled. I do want this though. I want to be able to start enjoying life again. Thank you for sharing and good luck on your journey.
  12. For the past several weeks I have been throwing up more often. I have terrible burning in my throat. I have eaten slowly, less portions, ect. I do not know if this is acid reflux or what. I am becoming quite concerned because I do not want to eat anything anymore. I have notified my doc and they set me up for a UGI test. I did the test and my band has not slipped, thank God. But at this point I do not know what to do. Maybe just get some fluid out? What are good OTC acid meds to take? My surgeon is 6hours away and I haven't gotten the help/advice i expect from them. I know I'm not supposed to be throwing up at all so I'm kind of frazzled by this. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.
  13. I too am from Ohio and have been living in SWLA for a few years! That's crazy! I was banded 12/4/12 in Dallas. I'm going through some struggles now in week 6, but am happy so far. I just found it funny we both lived in the same place going through this. I wish you all the best!! I'm glad I have some southern buddies!
  14. Hi all. I just recently got banded this past Tuesday. It happened in Dallas,Tx and I couldn't be happier with the doctor, staff & process so far.. However day 4 now and I'm trying to get back to normal somewhat. Each morning I feel nauseous so far but haven't thrown up. I am keeping my liquids down but still am feeling hungry and not too restricted. I'm quite frazzled by this and don't want to be discouraged. Starting my pre-op diet 11/20 I was 363lbs. 12/4 I weighed in at 339 before surgery. I am excited to continue this journey. But I want to make sure what I'm feeling is normal or any other suggestions.

    Newly banded 12/4/12

Although it's been one week since surgery I'm still feeling kinda the same. I will eat my yogurt, sugar free jello, broth ect but still hungry. I'm trying so hard not to cheat and god forbid eat a cracker or something : ( however, I just have this sick taste in my mouth that makes me not even want my yogurt, ect anymore. So then I'm worried about my energy, blood sugar ect..
