  1. Same problem here,, had my second fill on Wednesday, and now protein shakes give me that gurgling feeling, and have only been able to eat pudding and yogurt without getting discomfort.....only have 4cc in band, maybe band still irritated from Mondays fill? I have no idea
  2. Anyone else starting to stall out, I've been averaging about 6lbs a month, but seems like the dr really wants me hitting the 10lbs a month. I'm eating right, just don't have anytime to myself for serious exercise. I have a 3 year old and 1 year old and work nights. I got banded 12/12 and lost 64lbs and have 3ccs filled. Maybe get another fill next month to try to jump start things? Idk, feeling like I'm not doing enough...how is everyone else doing?
  3. okay...today's 3 months since surgery....43lbs down....which is an awesome feeling...but I really would like my hair to stop falling out everyday Apparently it should start going back to normal after 3 months...we'll see, taking biotin, upping my calcium in my food, hitting the protein goals, nobody can give me an answer though
  4. I think I am the majority of the time, I'm supposed to be getting 50-60g a day. Usually if I'm not cutting it with food, I throw in a shake. Skinny or Fat...bald is not going to be a good look for me
  5. I'm taking my vitamins, and have been taking biotin, my hair is still coming out like crazy. Anyone know of anything else I can do? Dr says it should go back to normal around 3 months, but we're almost at that point, and it just seems to be getting worse.
  6. My first fill was 1cc. He wouldnt give me second fill because I lost more than 5-10lbs he's looking for each month. Still hungry though...maybe he'll give me a second fill next month.
  7. ummm my hair is falling out...and although I do have plenty of it, I am not happy! Hoping for a fill on monday and more info on calorie intake, expected weight loss per week etc....you guys are doing great, all of you that are waiting for your first fill, you can do it! You are doing this for you, we all ate plenty of the wrong stuff before
  8. You'll be okay, it's all in your head. When my husband and kids snack, I find myself reaching for it, even though I'm not hungry. I make a cup of tea or something just to keep my hands and mouth busy lol. You're doing great, it's a change for life, it takes time
  9. I'm going to ask my dr. about any known local support groups, I really think that would help. Even if you met everyother week you know. Just to meet other people and share advice and know what each other is going through.
  10. Yeah I have to find out about how many calories and things like that too, all I know is 60g of protein, and no shakes unless I have to. Goodluck with the Dr, hope you get your fill soon!
  11. I wonder why your dr is waiting so long. I was banded 12/12 and got my first fill on 1/7, they said its up to me. I'm going to ask when I go back on 2/4 if I can get another fill. Did you have any complications or anything?
  12. Thank you so much for all your kind words. I don't know what I'd do without this group. You're a great person
  13. Really fighting the emotional eating this week. Was banded 12/12, got my first fill on 1/7, think I will get another one at my next appointment. I am proud of myself for not eating the crap that has surrounded me this week, but the scale is not my friend, and its the stress. My dad is very ill and just got diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. All I can say is, this band is not a "quick fix" like so many assume. You can still choose to eat the wrong things and not exercise at all, and it will not work. You make the decision at every meal to put yourself first and put the right food in your mouth. We can all do this, half of the hunger is in our heads, I'm proud of myself and all of you December bandsters, you all are doing great, and I really love this group.
  14. my dr just wants me to have 3 meals 1 snack. I have a 2 y/o and 1 y/o babies and work nights, 30 mins for each meal is just not working, gonna see if I can do 6 meals 15mins each spread throughout the day. Anyone know how many calories we are supposed to have? I know he wants me to get 60g protein.
  15. I became one with the treadmill today...good day today
  16. I was banded 12/12, had my first fill on 1/7, so there is a total of 3cc's in there. Down 30lbs total from preop diet to now. I still get hungry though so I'm thinking I may need another fill, but the Dr. thinks I'm doing fine. IDK, just don't know what's good and what's not at this point. Started exercising, but still struggling with the meal planning itself. Just joined fitness pal, so hopefully that helps.
  17. Thanks! I like the taco lettuce wrap idea. I really want to eat salad, but wasnt sure if raw veggie is ok to eat.
  18. For everyone that now gets to eat regular food, not post op mushies, Any ideas? I started regular food on wednesday and I kinda feel like I don't know what I'm doing. They said I dont need shakes anymore. thanks everyone, love this group. All of your stories and comments help so much
  19. Getting my first fill tomorrow, Dr said to eat regular food tonight to see how it goes down. Any suggestions? Going out with hubby, was going to have some soup and fish
  20. Maybeme

    Pain/recovery compared to c/section?

I had two csections as well, its easier than a csection, except the kids are so little I really didnt even rest lol
  21. Was banded on the 12th...still feeling hungry...trying to spread everything out as much as I can, but feel hungry and its making me emotional and want to cry! Can't wait for my first fill on the 7th, hopefully will be better after that. Chin up-fork down
  22. Was banded 12/12 can't believe its 2 weeks already. Love this site, thanks for all of your stories, it really helps, this is such a big change, and mostly its a mental challenge. Going to get my first fill on 1/07, anyone have a fill yet? know what to expect?
  23. I got banded on the 12th. I'm meeting my liquid and protein intake for the day and still feel hungry....is this normal??? I dont' know what to do, I don't want to go over my protein for the day so I just keep drinking, but still hungry.
  24. thanks guys! I will try to spread it more, hopefully that will help
  25. Miralax or something similar should help. The pain meds are what get you backed up. I was banded 12-12-12, down 19lbs, did a 2 week liquied preop diet, now on a 4 week puree diet. I'm hungry, its definitely more mental than anything. I see lots of people eating different things on here during their postop diet, and wonder why it varies so much.
