  1. NICE !!! We all wish for that birthday. My surgery # was 420.
  2. That is something you just have to deal with. Either eat a little snack or do something else. Im only 1 week new to the band, so I can't speak for others, but so far, I just drink a juice or eat a jello or something. You have to cut way back on what you usually eat anyway, so it wont hurt if you eat 2 jello cups in one night or something. And from what I read and hear once you get a couple fills in you, you really can't eat much of anything. So ill see how it goes the more times goes on. And I have smoked since I got home that day from the hospital. Of course not as much due to the good pain medication you get. But I did partake. And im healing up fine. But that is me, im not saying it would be the same for everyone.
  3. Hell yeah Sanjaya won. You see they didn't even hype it up. They said he stays and that is that. Americon Idol is going to be forced to officially come out and say something about Howard. Both Simon and Seacrest basically came out and said it last night. Keep Sanjaya on, He is my next American Idol Get the phones ready. We can do it again next week. If anyone dosen't want to watch and just vote for him, go check out HowardStern.com and you can find the phone # posted. DAMN BETH O is TALL !!!!!!!!!!
  4. I love this thread! It was hyped up for a second there. 1 week now, still kicking ass and eating sensable food. Not overdoing it but not underdoing it either. Thansk everyone for voting for Sanjaya. Lets get the phones ready for next week. p.s. the gas sucks!
  5. Not at all. So if you get hungry, have a snack. Who cares, no one is going to scold you if you get stoned and eat something. Life can be fun if you allow it to be.
  6. yeah, Sanjaya tonight ROCKED !!!!! The show is starting to suck anyway, no one has been as good as Clarkson or that Country girl. BOTH SMOKIN HOT !!! Im ready to vote and so is the Howard army tonight. Who cares if Howard has something to do with the Sanj-ster winning. It's a tv show that should have quit a long time ago. Remember everyone tune in tomorrow morning to Howard 100 for Sanjaya updates.
  7. Lol, I didn't have a psych consult. I saw the dr, he said cool, your young, good job doing it now. Set it up, in - out, wham bam thank you maam. and I have kick ass insurance! Remember everyone vote for Sanjaya tomorrow. And watch Beth O on The View as well. Hey Now ....
  8. Daytime, 2 pudding cups and 1 jello cup dinner: Cabage / groundmeat soup. Bit o Rice, couple tortilla chips. Full and feeling good. banded 3/21/07.... Nice !!!
  9. Everyone has their own opinions and lives their own lives. Everyone is different, and who cares why I decided to get the band or not. It was my choice to do it. Ive seen this lap band 1st hand for a year now. And I know what to be careful with and what not to be a titty about. I had the idea to eat mushy food from this web site. I was off couple days so I just spent my time on hear reading all these posts. Alot of people where all play by the rules Jones, but a few did things differenttly. They made it, I will make it and other people will make it after me. When your 1st banded the band isn't even full. Why mind F yourself w/ liquids for 4 weeks all scared about tearing this and that. Wwwaaahhh !!! Like I read on here, a DR can't really give you exact advise unless they had the same thing done and went through the same things before us. And my DR sure dosen't have a port sticking out of his stomach. People have the choice to act like adults and make decisions in their life that affect themselves and whomever they choose to join that life. Why does everyone have to follow the exact same rules. If that is how it's supposed to be I probably woudln't be typing this response right now. Kim Jong Yang (the Korean ruler at this juncture) could be our leader and there would be no Fatty Chatty for anyone. I sat here and wondered the same things. Would I hurt myself, would I get denied surgery for not following the liquid diet to the letter? Would I be crippled up on the couch crying about gas pain for days and days. And the answer Alex....X NO! And I may be a lucky one, but guess what, that's how it went for ME. So if someone can read this and form his or her own opinion about it then so be it. This was my experience and how I handled the situation. It's not for everyone. Any guy out there who wants to get this done, but worries being able to smoke after surgery or eat some kind of food sometime after surgery and basically dosen't want to be a pussy about it all. YOU DON'T HAVE TO ! You can get this Lap Band and still have fun in life. Yes there are things everyone needs to consider and weigh the risks. But if you can get a handle of all of it, why the hell not keep enjoying life. I loved life before this band and plan to love it even more after it. This band only changes my apperance, not the person who I am inside.
  10. Everyone Vote Sonjaya. No matter what. And watch Beth O on the View tomorrow. Howard Stern still the King.........
  11. I just had it done as well. Im a couple days post surgery and I have been eating mushy real food. The pre diet I never did the low fat anything. Was good w/ liquids, but ate pudding and jello and icecream. I know ALOT of people on here say stick to what the diet says, especially after surgery. Well I have not. It bothered me once when I ate to much I could feel the food just sitting over the band. But besided protein drinks I have had mashed potatos and Red Beans and Rice from Popeye's. DAMN it's good. Me personally, I can take this food and it's not hurting me. I would stick w/ moderete food you can take and just work up from there. I don't feel the liquid diet is completley needed for 2 weeks afterwards. Just try stuff a little at a time and see what your body can take. I would be loosing my mind right now if I was still only drinking liquids. But to each his own.
  12. Time to suck it up Berry, it will get better, but time to man up! Im taking gas x and tums. Tums seems to help the best. And if you feel like you can have something good to eat, try it. I recomend potato soup or something. Something to fill you up with. Protein drinks help alot to. They really will fill you up. Walking around will help you burp as well. Your now banded and on to a better life, don't sit around and tweak about it. Enjoy it.
  13. You will know that phase will be gone once us guys start hitting on you more and more. Just wait, you will see.
  14. Thaks for the above, that helped me out. Had mine done on Wed morning and having a problem w/ the gas. Scared to try and "get rid of it" due to I can feel the band inside me moving when I try. Just keep burping and am thankful when it's a good burp to release some pressure. Been eating hella tums though. p.s. the pain medication is the best
  15. Thanks Vickie, I knew ya'll where out there. Definetly 420 friendly. Did you try right after surgery?
  16. Thank you faith. How can you go wrong w/ someting that grows from the earth and is not man made? Neveragain, that post was for people out there wondering the same thing I was. Just trying to help them out and not have to ask the question they have been wondering about. This place answered it for me, so hopefully I answered for someone else as well.
  17. Yes thank you millions and millions of Stern fans. Together we will bring American Idol to it's knees. Remember to vote for Sanjay, no matter what!!
  18. Everyone vote for Sanjaya. The Howard army demands it. The show is starting to suck and what better way to end it w/ Sanjay being the winner. Everyone remember to listen to Howard 100 for more details.
  19. I can't speak for Gastric, but it is cool. you will be ok. I got the Big Boy Lap Band this morning and im up and about. Chatting it up. I don't think they will want to scare you at a seminar. It should be cool. I was fortunate enough not to have to do a seminar. NICE !!
  20. Ok guys and gals, all this food talk. My surgery went fine, no problems. I did eat applesauce and Popsicles w/ sugar, pudding and even 2 days before my surgery I ate 1 tortilla. So people out there struggling w/ that pre Diet, it will be ok if you have a sugar popsicle or regular pudding. Now don't go and get buck wild, but if you can't stand the lowfat stuff and have been good. TREAT YOURSELF, DON'T CHEAT YOURSELF !!! from somewhere in TEXAS, Sippin dat Siz-urp!
  21. Well just got home around 11am this morning. Anyone out there wondering about this topic. No problem! Calmed the nerves a bit just before I went in. Slept a little when I got home. Have been up and moving around no problem. Tried it, feeling GOOD !!! And my surgery # things was 420. NICE !!! Couldn't have scripted that any better. ABP, here I come! ( I know ABP stands for something, just can't remember. something about all bands pretty or something. lol Has anyone heard from the other guy who was getting surgery today? I can't seem to find the thread to see how it went.
  22. Hell yeah, I like the above answer. That's what im talking about. Thanks! Went to see 300 tonight as the family ate dinner. If anyone hasn't seen it yet. It's BAD ASS !!!!
  23. Don't worry, I get mine tomorrow night as well. Doc said I should be out by noon, so dosen't sound like a hard surgery. Told me some people go to work the next day, so should be smooth sailing. Mabye some pain, but I would not worry about staying over night and stuff. Im just ready to eat some cream of anything. Tired of this diet. Ready to catch some Reading Rainbow on tv. Old School Style!
  24. I went to an On the Border tonight to eat some chicken tortilla soup broth. I was good when the chips came out and didn't eat any. And then the soup came and I ate up some liquid real quick. Asked for more broth and ate it up real quick also. Now I was pouring the liquid in the bowl w/ the food to get the flavor and they had these tortilla strips on top of the soup. I ate just one and another and before you knew it I had eaten all the little strips. So my surgery is on Wed. I see the Dr tomorrow and I ate the equivilant of about 1 whole corn tortilla. So don't feel bad, man it's damn hard. Im kinda worried also, but im sure it will be ok.
  25. See I don't know. I know a lady that her Dr isn't telling her to quit anything. Another lady at my job did not follow instructions and just quit eating anything 1 day prior to her surgery and she hasn't looked back since. So I don't know what to think. Watch out cause this place will start to tweak you out the more you read. Im glad I didn't read this stuff before I had it all set up.
