  1. Hell yea, it's the weekend, so definetly in about 1 hr now, Im gonna put it in the air so it can reach the Heavens !! And it wont defeat the band. The band works period, I think it's just up to that individual on how quick you want it to work. Im so happy with life right now. I can still taste or eat all my favorite foods (except steak, damn i miss me some steak !!) and im still loosing weight. Now it's slow yes, but im not gaining and im happy inside and out !! And to ME ultimetly that is what I was looking for. 420 Bandsters unite !! Im here, I smoke, get used to it !!
  2. Man I don't even know what to say. lol But thanks Donna, I feel it's always healthier to laugh about things then to worry or fret over things. Substance abuse sounds so dirty to a pot head. I mean im not scratching my skin, or like stealing copper and stuff. (copper theft is real bad in Dallas these days) Im not like spending all my $$ on pot and like taking food off my familes table or anything. (unless they got like a nice box of fresh hot Fried chicken, then the might come up a lil short, lil shawt) I handle my business 1st, then I turn to my 3rd love. Food being 2nd to my family, probably explaning why I got banded in the 1st place huh? I mean food is a substance also right? Does that make me a junkie cause im addicted to food as well? Should I wear some ragady clothes next time I go to a buffet since I would be feeding my "bad addicting habit" by eating? (thought = I wonder if my DR could get some real good stuff? Like some medical stuff, mmmm... nice !!!) Anyway, lol what was I talking about? I guess in closing this post, um, more bacon, more smokin, and more fills !! And more discusions. I love this country!! p.s. Sorry for the random copper story, or my horrible spelling. JubJub - OUT !!
  3. Lets look at it like the glass is still half full. If you still have half a brain left, just means you got some more partying to do !! And Ninner, HELL YEA Bacon is hella good !!!
  4. my advice is get ready for alot of different views on things. So just sit back, rest and take it all in. Everyone on here should be bandsters, but we all have different experiences. Im a very laid back not a sticlar for the Lap Band rules, so I can give advice on that front. But if you are into following the Doctor to the tee, there are plenty of them out there as well. Go Spurs tonight against the Lakers. Go Spurs Go !! p.s. My lap band journey has been great, I love it, and it works for me the way I want it to. No complaints or problems !!
  5. What? Im not understanding the above post.
  6. What's all this Home Brew talk? I would not worry about not being able to sip your beers or even drink them. I can drink beer or wine easily. Im not a big drinker at all, but I have no problems. BUT !! enough home brew - let's try HOME GROWN !!
  7. Man I got to get on here more. I miss these spirited conversations. Im just happy if all this helps someone out who is going to have this surgery like all of us and is 420 friendly. Because I like to "smoke" this was a big thing for me, and I asked a question about it when I 1st signed up and someone answered me and helped me out with their experience. All kinds of questions are asked and answered on here. This just happens to be my answer. Peace and Love, Peace and Love everyone
  8. no beer - no problem !! Spark it up !!! Nice safe buzz without any calories gained. Just got to watch the munchies afterwards.
  9. Dallas, TX here. Peace and Love, Peace and Love to all the Dallas people
  10. Damn I haven't been on here in a long ass time !! How is everyone. Last time I was on, people got salty with me cause of my "poor" food choices and views on this whole thing. Well im doing good still. Loosing weight very slowly. But that' all cause of me. But im still loosing, so all is good. Still 420 friendly !!!!!!!!
  11. no breakfast, lunch was some chicken soup and a yogurt. Dinner..mmmm.. I had homemade pizza. It was so damn good ! I was lucky and able to eat the crust as well. 3 months banded and feeling good. Weight loss is slow going, but im the only one who controlls that and im happy with the results so far. And isn't that why we get this surgery? To make ourselves happy?
  12. Come to Texas!
  13. To much! Yes you can drink cokes again. Yes you will get a little pain if you take a big boy drink, but it ain't nothing. Now they do say it will expand your band, but you should have no problems drinking cokes. I stick with Sprite or 7-UP now. The dark cola's are to sweet and upset my stomach. I have had the band about 3 months now. Every now and then i'll have a glass of Dr-Pepper. Just not to fast or it will hurt for a second. I say to each his own, try it and just see if it is something you could handle. Trust me the pain is not bad, just for a second. O, don't eat and drink a coke at the same time, that will give you some major unwated air in your stomach.
  14. Ok here is a non related subject. What do ya'll think about the upcoming Football season. Weather it be pros or college. I live in Dallas, so Im a die hard Cowboys fan, but my college teams is from the North. GO BLUE !! the jugernaut that is The University of Michigan. p.s. Longhorns SUCK !!!
  15. Im 29 and a guy, how bout that? Did it in March, going ok so far. Had my 1st fill last Monday, but can still eat. I was like WTF! Why can I still eat, but I do notice I get fuller faster. One thing, I didn't no that the eating and drinking thing together was bad because it washed your food down for you. I thought you weren't supposed to cause you choke easy. But from reading today that's why. I love to drink and eat at the same time, but get choked up now. I have never "slimed" anything yet, but get close when I get greedy and eat and drink together. So it's Saturday morning, I got a good wake n bake right now and Im just a typing away on here. Jammin to some Siruis Satelite Radio and checking threads. Do ya'll know any guys, in person, who have had this surgery? I know alot of women, but no guys. I see them on here, but don't know any personally. And how do your friends take this. Mine are cool, I can still eat pretty much what I want so the BBQ's and Hooters outings haven't been affected to much yet w/ the guys. Im just jumping all over the place here.
  16. Ok, I haven't been on here in a long time and Im glad to see a guy thread. Now lets talk some sports. I live in Dallas and am a SPURS fan! It has been so fun bustin balls for like 2 weeks now that the mavs (typed in lower case letters to show disrespect) CHOKED away another season. Go Spurs tonight. And as always GO COWBOYS !!! (Jerry World is just around the corner) Bandster question now. Do ya'll notice clothes sizes droping more than weight? I got banded in May and have only lost 12 lbs so far, but can really tell in clothing. Is this that inches instead of pounds chics talk about?
  17. NICE answer Superrali72. NICE !!!
  18. Candle, some Dr's may be different, but I have never heard of them drug testing anyone. I know quite a few women that have had different Dr's in the area and no one ever mentioned that. If you do occasionally now don't worry about it. I do and had no complications at all before during or after the surgery. Your paying them and as long as you passed your stress test and jumped through all their hoops, you have noting to worry about at all. Unless you have insurance like some of these other people, and that sucks.
  19. O I forgot, a job with DAMN good Insurance helps alot! I was fortunate enough not to have to pay anything out of pocket except Dr visits. Round of applause for United Health Care !!!!
  20. Im having pizza tonight! NICE !! JeninCO I had the surgery done to help me control the amount of food I eat and loose some weight in the process. I did not get it to completly deprive myself of the food I love so much. I am a guy who loves red meat and has a mindset that thinks vitamin pills won't really give me the nutrients I need. Now I can't eat hamburgers, but I can eat hamburger meat and chicken no problem. I know people say that vitamis work just as well, but to me I want the real thing. I want the meat and vegtables and fruit. I want the taste of them, not some chewable pill. Don't cheat yourself, treat yourself. I have not tried pizza chain pizza yet. I have only eaten homemade because I can make the crust real thin and crispy. Reading this, mabye I could try a slice of thin crust Pizza Hut pepperoni.. mmm..... man I miss those days, pizza and a Dr Pepper w/ lots of ice! Damn that was some good eating. Ok, im going to close now. Everyone remember VOTE FOR SANJAYA !!! (Howard 100)
  21. jubjub posted a topic in Rants & Raves
Hey, im back. Sanjaya !!! Another week. He is cruising by each week. Simon won't even talk to him anymore. It's working! All Hail the King of all Media.... Howard Stern ! Howard, Howard, Howard !!!
  22. So it's been a while for me, but I saw Berry's name and knew he always had interesting threads. So im glad to see other people are like me. I to just had it done and do not have a fill. I am just now starting to try more and more food. I have eaten pizza already, but bread and red meat does not work. I can eat hamburger meat and chicken no problem. Now I am finally going to get my post op check up tomorrow. So I have no idea how much weight I have lost. I was worried that I was able to eat food with no problem. I know that will change when I get fills. But im very glad to see others are eating just like me.
  23. Sanjaya wins again !!! Take it one week at a time.
  24. Nice, good to see more guys on here.
  25. You should be cool after 9 days. You definetly should not lift things, but if your crane Jones it should be cool. It will be cool man, they give you good drugs so no pain. And you should be able to walk around pretty good at least the next day. I love that surgery date! Happy 4/20 !!
