  1. Bread and butter? I was never a big bread and butter person. I didn't eat it before a meal because I wouldn't be able to eat as much of my main course. About the only time I "craved" bread and butter was after a spaghetti and meatball (or the like) meal because my Dad and I would have bread, butter, and molasses. Mmmmmm. Yummy!! Yes, I'm 100% French Canadian. LOL Just wondering because I find myself fighting off the craving 99% of the time.

Am I the only one that craves...

Oooh! I love thin crust pizza and dill pickle chips!! Well, I'm happy I'm not alone with my bread and butter!! LOL

So crazy! I never cared about it.
  4. I am SO happy that I reached out to all of you!! What a difference a post makes! I am recording everything I eat on my new MyFitnessPal account. I am MUCH more mindful of everything that I eat because now I have to hold myself accountable. Now, I just need to keep doing it; create that habit. I'm watching my portions and I'm eating slower. Even when my husband is home we eat in front of the TV and as we all know, we don't pay attention to how or how much we are eating. I am incredibly aware now. I've used MRSINTO's ideas for meals and tonight I had 97% browned ground beef, Glory Foods - Sensibly Seasoned Lower Sodium Tomatoes, Okra, and Corn, and Margaret Holmes White Acre Peas, and sauteed sweet onion. It's a one pot meal and it's awesome!!! It will last me 5 days or maybe 6 (my portions are appropriate now...). I'm also not mixing my Protein with skim milk or almond milk before I mix it in my coffee. Nope, I'm putting just the protein into my black iced coffee. I'm also making sure that I am drinking/consuming a lot of protein. Today I've already had 65 grams. The icing on the cake so-to-speak? I have signed up for a 5k and I downloaded a Couch to 5k (C25K) app on my phone. I went to the gym this afternoon and not only did I do Week 1 Day 1's workout (all treadmill), but I also did another 40 minutes on the treadmill. In total I burned over 350 calories!! I will RUN this 5k!! I will!!! So, thank you everyone for being here and for giving me the push I so desperately needed. Whether you commented or didn't even know that I had posted; because of this forum we will all succeed. I couldn't do it without you!!! Much love! Bee
  5. I think you should start a new thread for this. More people need to read it because 1) I'm sure that you are not the only one going through this, and 2) you will have a better chance of finding a GOOD doctor in NC. Best of luck. Stay strong! Only you know your body.
  6. I have just had a long needed fill and I immediately felt better; stronger. I lost a few pounds, but now it's back. I'm eating low fat, low calorie, higher protein Healthy Choice dinners because my husband is away (military). I'm using my protein in my coffee rather than sugar and cream.... I need some strength from those in the know.

I am in desperate need of Motivation

I never really thought about that because I drink SO much Water every day (at least a gallon; I fill my 32oz bottle over and over...) and I don't use salt on anything. I'm going to try MRSINTO's recipe and cut out the boxed and see if that makes a difference. Tonight? I'm have a Greek yogurt for snack time!!!

I am in desperate need of Motivation

THANK YOU!!! I will try this. Although I feel great about my last fill I think I will need one more. I also need to remember not to drink while I eat. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Water and I drink a lot of it. Wow, I have forgotten my basic rules; I have really fallen off the wagon. Light has just dawned on marble head!! I haven't been portioning out my meals; chewing slowly and completely; stopping when I felt full or comfortable.... I'm a full-time student and when classes were in full swing and finals approached I lost focus on my weight loss. I stopped coming here.... I'm so thankful that I posted today.

I am in desperate need of Motivation

I will get on myfitnespal right now! Thanks everyone. I need to fight my head hunger and hopefully being more in control of counting my calories will help. Here's hoping.

I am in desperate need of Motivation

Thank you! A lot of it is head hunger and it's at night. I want to eat when I'm stressed, unhappy, etc.. I can keep busy during the day but not at night. Can you believe that we don't have a bathtub in our home?? Three bathrooms and not one bathtub! Can you share any of your dense Protein recipes?

    um, my band is broken...

I would just like to clarify my answer... Banded Betty Boop said : " I have drank Water & crystal light trying to curb the hunger. It's not working..." therefore I made my comment that she needs to be drinking Protein rather than plain water and Crystal Light. The protein will keep her feeling full longer. I don't believe I said that she should not be eating and should only be drinking protein drinks. I will reread and if I did I will correct myself I don't want to give the wrong info. Having said that, the #1 thing that we should all be having is protein. Any doctor will tell you that and any book you read says that same thing. If any of us are eating empty calories not only will we not lose weight but we will be hungry all the time.

    um, my band is broken...

Protein. Drinking Crystal Light and Water is not going to help you feel satisfied. You should be drinking Protein drinks. In Dr. Duc C. Vuong's book Ultimate Lap-Band Success he says the #1 rule to success is protein. If you're not getting enough protein you will be hungry all the time. Get yourself some unjury and succeed!! Good luck!!
  13. Some of you may have already tried this but it's like heaven to me!! 1 pkg Sugar Free/ Fat Free Cheesecake Jello pudding prepared 1 pkg sugar free Cherry Jello prepared (or any flavor you prefer) Put about 3 oz of pudding in a small bowl and about 1oz of the Jello on top of that. That is what I call a Cherry Cheesecake!!! YUMMY!! I hope you like it as much as I do!!
  14. I'm only 10 days out so no fruit for me yet but I can't wait to try that too!!
  15. I would like to mix my protein into my coffee; is that allowed?
  16. I am on Day 4 and I couldn't be happier!! Don't second guess a thing! Keep telling yourself that Today if the First day of the rest of your Life!! It is! I kept saying that to myself because it WAS!! I felt it, believed it, and trusted it. So will you!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You CAN do this!!

    Gas is killing me

Do you think that just Apple Juice and Tea will work? We don't have any fruit juice.
  18. Well, not really dizzy but almost like itsy bitsy black outs; does that make sense? Does or has any one else felt like this right after surgery? I had surgery on Monday.
  19. Thank you! I just took my blood pressure and it is 130/89. Not good, not bad. Unfortunately the pain meds he gave me didn't work at all so I'm only on Advil. I do drink a lot of Water.... I was thinking that maybe I'm not getting what my body needs but I'm following the diet. Does anyone take Vitamins or did you this early on? Thanks everyone!!

    Gas is killing me

Are you all using the heating pad on your belly? I need to try that!! Day three and I'm still uncomfortable.
  21. My doctor was not specific either so I drank lots of water (I do anyway), protein drinks (I LOVE UNJURY, Melaleuca, and the Adkins brands), had beef and chicken low sodium broth, and even had black coffee with some chocolate protein in it. I was not hungry until the day before when I wanted to stress eat. I just got myself in the frame of mind that it was easy and I could do it. SO WILL YOU!!!
  22. Tomorrow truly is the first day of the rest of my life!! I need to be there at 11am tomorrow. I'm excited to begin my new life, but I'm so afraid of failure. Crazy, huh? I've dieted so many times only to gain even more weight back; it's hard not to be nervous. Failure s NOT an option this time. It just isn't!
  23. They just called! They asked me to come in early! See you all on the other side!!
  24. Thanks so much!! You're right, failure is NOT an option!!
