  1. Hi! I had my BOB (band over bypass) open! Since my rny was open the scar tissue made this be open too. I was in the hospital 4 days. I feel like I have bounced back pretty quickly. I am down 22 lbs (including preop liquid). My surgeon doesn't do a fill until February and I feel like I can eat a good amount actually so I am worried I am going up hit a brick wall.
  2. Sorry you are struggling. The way you are feeling when dieting sounds like you are "detoxing" off carbs ( I assume you avoid carbs while dieting). It does get better the longer you go without. I know what it is like to fail because I just had aBOB ( band over bypass.... Like carnie Wilson). This is my second chance. I have determined that I need to stay away from the crap foods and stop looking at food as my entertainment. It is not going to be easy, I know, but WLS is NOT enough to get rid of the weight. After my bypass i was doing amazing until ihad kids. I thought I could eat anything. At first I could but it doesn't last. I am seeing a therapist who specializes in WLS patients. Highly recommend this and read the book the end of overeating. The Dukan diet also has a long term plan on how to lose and maintain forever. Good luck!
  3. My surgeon does liquid for a month and puréed for a month after that. That seems really long to me. And no fill for 2-3 months. What do others say?
  4. FYI.... Ehow is wrong on acetominophen(Tylenol) is not an anti inflammatory. It is safer.
  5. Wow! That is unbelievable! I am so glad you are doing well now! Scary stuff!
  6. Yes, it can strengthen it as well as the nails.
  7. No. It typically resolves in 3-6 months. As long as the problem that caused it has resolved.
  8. Hair loss, google telogen effluvium, can be brought on by stress, weight loss itself, thyroid disorders, anemia, malnutrition, anesthesia, and other stuff. It is less likely with lap band because the weight loss is slower but it certainly does happen. Make sure you get all your protein in that helps. Biotin helps with hair quality but won't prevent loss. ( dermatology Physican assistant here )
  9. Just tried the Unjury Chicken Soup Protein... It is awesome. That is, if you like the taste of the broth for Ramen Noodles... It tastes exactly like it! I might survive this liquid diet after all!!! No thickness, no chalk.... Yum!
  10. Can you email me the packet too, pretty please! Stefaniedelaney@aol.com
  11. Hi! I am on Oct 29 as well.... Looking forward to cheering everyone on!!!!
  12. Ok ordered the book through PayPal. Yes, Carnie Wilson had a BOB. I try googling her for progress reports but there are none :/
  13. Thanks everyone! I really appreciate it!!! I will definitely get the book.... If I can only figure out where in the link to buy it;)
  14. Thanks for your reply. I am more than aware that it isn't magic ... Now! I got cocky after losing 90% of my excess weight and went back to old habits. I know now that I must look at bad goods like a drug addict looks at drugs... I simply cannot eat them if I to be successful. I just need a bit of help & hopefully a return to the hunger control. Any tips?
