  1. Thank you so much for your story! It's is inspiring ad nice to hear from someone that had the same surgery I am going to have. Hat were some of your biggest es "issues" post op? Any problem healing etc?
  2. Regardless we are both having something done in dec lol. It'll be great to support each other as I'm sure everyone is nervous doing any sort of wls:)
  3. Thank you Carolina! So nice to hear this. A person can feel a little alone at times Lol:)
  4. Do you have the sleeve or plication?
  5. I'm so happy to get a response! Well I am booked to get the plication dec3 and am excited, but anxious tht it's such a new procedure. I am self pay and am going to Mexico. I feel confident about it after all my research and talking with the surgeon and his team. Were you scared of getting this procedure? What was our recovery time like when you got home? Physical limitations? Are you happy you got this instead of other wls procedures? I made the Mistake of looking at the sleeve forum last night ( never again) and such anxiety of at that something would go wrong. Could you tell me of your experience? Thank you:)
  6. How do you feel? I've done all the reaearch I can think of... Maybe too much lol( checked out the sleeve forum- big no no!) I've got my drs in place here, already stalked up for the postop diet, talked to the surgeon and other people that have had it done. I am only telling my husband and mom too... Hopefully I feel we'll enough when I get Back that no one will notice. The only thing I am unsure of is travel insurance? Like what if something goes wrong and I am in there for longer? Am I gonna get a bi bill in the mail or can one get insurance? Congrats btw, I am excited and anxious!
  7. Well I decided on the plication, but he won't do the band as well. Oh we'll I e made up my mind and am excited! I made the mistake of looking in the sleeves forum ( because barely anyone is on the plication forum) what a mistake that was. Such horror stories and trashing of every other wls that is not the sleeve. Had anxiety all night then. I'm just gonna delet that app, I was literally sick to my stomach. Hope the people here don't mind if I stay on for support even though I'm getting the plication!
  8. Oh before me! I am dec 3, when are you? His your dr?
  9. Not a very busy forum hey?? Hopefully because everyone is so successful with the plication that they don't need to worry about issues, support etc. lol
  10. I am dec 3... Plication though, but the forum is pretty empty lol. So I joined this one for the wl journey support! Nice to meet you all:)
  11. It's tough to say... I think it still depends on the person and third willingness to change their eating habits. My aunt, uncle and cousin all had the bi pass. They all lost the weight. My aunt then had a Ty and boob job. Then she put most her weight back on and looks "different" because of her tt. My uncle has put a good amount of weight on. My mom had the sleeve and seems to be doing well but she's only 8 mos out. Her surgeon told her that anyone will put the weight back on if they don't change their eating. Here goes nothing... I'm having the plication done, lets hope I can overpower my head hunger too!
  12. It's nice to see someone Post recently on here... It's a bit Of a slow forum hey?
  13. How did it mb? I'm havering the same done soon in the same place! How was your experience?
  14. How did it go? Who was your dr? I'm having the same done dec3!
  15. Hi all! I've finally decided on plication after many months! Would love to hear anyone's experience or story as I am a bit nervous being that its a newer procedure. I am excited though, but nervous:)
  16. Well we had the big talk! I am decided! Plication it is! The band is great too, but for the above reasons I chose plication. Also the dr who would have done my fills lives 2 hrs away ( I'm from a small town). So I was worried I I ever needed a emerg unfill what would I do?? So there it is... Honestly I'm excited and relieved that I made a decision! The lapband forum is way better than the plication one though and there are some wonderful people on here so I am still gonna creep lol
  17. Good luck Mandy! I talked to my surgeon today and that's what we be decided on too! I'm so excited and honestly relieved at finally making a decision!
  18. And by restriction I mean restricted foods... No getting stuck, no pbing, I don't know. I'm talking to my surgeon today hopefully I will make a decision! It's less invasive like the band but hasn't been aroun as long...
  19. Have you thought of plication at all? I've been back and forth too, my date is dec3. I started a thread leaning towed Plication because it has way less restriction than lb and I am confused as well. No one replied though:(
