  1. So I am super bummed because this is my first weight gain since surgery 4 months ago. I haven't been doing bad eating wise and I have upped my workout these last 2 weeks so I don't know why I not only losing but am gaining. It's so discouraging becuase here I am being active and kicking butt and then I get this news and it totally knocks you down. The only think I can think of that made me gain was either gaining muscle or Water retention. Other than that nothing makes sense. I should still be losing. I have another 90 pounds to go. Any words from the wise out there. Is this something that can happen when you start consistantly working out? I lost 5 pounds last week. Thanks guys. This sucks! P.S. I did accomplish another one of my goals though, went hiking twice this weekend, woohooo!
  2. My doc said the same also. It's from the stress of losing the weight so fast. Nothing is going to stop it but biotin or other things might help it grow back quicker
  3. See I think most people do hate working out but it's something we all HAVE to do to be as successful as we can. I hear about those people who start working out, that were total couch potatoes, and turn into these work out freaks. I want to be one of those. I don't know if it is possible but I hope haha. Thanks for your encouragement!
  4. Haha me too. I am sooo bad at it but I have been pretty motivated these last 2 weeks. Hopefully it sticks. You just have to have the aha moment and what my friend said to me was mine. It takes time but it will come to you. Just try and push yourself till then. Remember we will be so dissappointed if we lose all the weight and have all this skin and we didn't do anything to try to minimiz it. I know I would so it's time to get serious, take advantage of having the surgery and change my old lifestyle. You can do it too. Lets go!
  5. We can do it if we pay more attention and seriously sip allllll day. It's just annoying and you have to dedicate yourself. That's hard to do but I guess we better do it before something really bad happens. We didn't have this surgery to get sick from it right. We want to get better from it. Let's do it!
  6. So my thought of the day is how important working out is and how we all NEED to be doing it. I am the worst with working out because I just hate it but it is something we have to do in order to get the full benefit of this surgery and to be the healthiest we can be. I had a reality check from a friend whom I reached out too when I felt like I was going down the wrong path already at 4 months, I know horrible but hey bad habits die hard. And you know what she said that really made me think was "Please don't spit in the face of this surgery," and wow that really hit me cause that was what I was doing. I was slowly inching my way back to the old way I use to be and I just can't do that. That's what got me where I was in the first place, fat and miserable. Sooooo I took her advice and put it into action. She said promise yourself to exercise at least 3 times a week for 30 min. That's really not a lot to ask if you think about it. 3 times a week is totally do-able so I made that promise to myself that night. This is only my second week since my promise but I have kept my promise and even worked out 2 days in a row this week so far because I am feeling so good. It's funny how when you respect yourself and keep promises you make how great you feel inside. And on another positive note I lost 5 pounds last week from exercising and eating better. Hey what more can you ask for. I still have like 90 pounds to lose so this is not the time to be lax and lazy so for anyone who is having trouble just remember what my friend said. Don't spit in the face of this surgery. Use it and take full advantage of being lucky enough to of gotten this surgery. It's only a TOOL. You still have to do ALL the work. Good luck to everyone and get your butt moving. Remember it doesn't matter how slow you go, you are still lapping the people that are sitting on the couch. I love that one! I totally got off track with my rant but I was also trying to say that we all need to make working out a priority. Just like taking our vitamines, drinking our Water and eating our Protein. It's a priority and we HAVE to do it in order to stay healthy and strong. The same goes for working out. When people want to make plans or go out you have to say NO not till I am done working out cause you know if you miss it you probably are not going to end up doing it later. Plus when you get off your routine it just messes up the whole day anyways. Sooooo remember working out is a PRIORITY and you need to make TIME for it. Ok I am done running my mouth. Love you all
  7. You are doing a great job. Losing more than 100 pounds in less than a year is anyone's dream. Keep up the good work and get your butt working out. I have found already that you lose more working out so I have started to do it at least 3 times a week. This is my second week doing it. 3 times a week is totally do-able and not asking for much I don't think. Just have to make it a priority like eating, drinking and taking your vitamines. I have to say no sorry I am working out at that time but I can after. It's hard to get use to it but it has to be part of your new lifestyle now. Keep it up you look great
  8. I am always scared that something is going to happen to me because I don't drink enough. It is just so hard to do it but I am going to try harder. I probably only get like 1 to 2 16 oz bottle waters in a day. thats not good. I hope you feel better. That is so scary
  9. sounds like you are doing amazing and are so happy. I am very happy for you too. Keep up the good work and don't ever give up. You are worth it!
  10. AMAZING! keep it up girl you are doing great
  11. U need to talk to your surgeon. Have you?
  12. I will tell you what everyone else told me and still tells me. Give it time. The one thing you will learn going through this journey is that you will have days and weeks where you only lose 1 pound or 2 pounds or none at all. Your body is trying to get use to what you are doing to it and it doesnt understand. It takes a long time for it to catch up but it will come off if you are doing what you are suppose to be doing and exercising and drinking your water. Try and get through the tough times of not losing its hard but you will lose. The biggest thing is to find patients.. Good luck girl you can do this
  13. Wow amazing. I can't wait to get there. Keep it up girl. You are doing great.
  14. You look great and soo tiny. It takes everyone a different amount of time to relize it was worth it. Mine was about 3 months yours was 8. Who cares we all have our own demons to fight. But you look wonderful
  15. Congrats girl keep it up. It is al worth it
  16. You are right. Everyone losing differently. My doc said I am on the high end of weight loss but I didn't know if he was just being nice, LOL. I guess your doc won't really do that. He isn't here to be nice but to keep you on the right track and help you lose all your weight. Thanks girl you are right!
  17. I don't think you have stopped losing. I think you are at a stall. Those are not fun and can last up to months I have heard. Maybe try looking at what you are eating (getting in all your Protein before carbs) and doing more exercising or changing up your exercising. I was losing like 1 or 2 pounds for like a month or so so I started working out again and paying more attention to my protetin and I lost 5 this last week. Your body will get use to the same thing everyday so you have to change it up. You can do this girl it just takes time. Our bodies are still in shock. We still don't eat that much or as much as our bodies are use to us eating ya know. Keep your head up. You will start to lose again!
  18. Well when you put it that way it is great, LOL.. Thank you!!!! ;-D
  19. LOL you are great. I can't wait for them to really show. Its funny how that is one of the things that people notice when they start losing weight. We can't wait to see that, haha. I appreciate the congrats. That makes me feel really good. Just remember it is a tool. I was told that too but I didn't really know what it meant till I was going through it. Good luck and success to you during your journey. YOu can do it!
  20. I was wondering how much weight everyone had lost at 4 months out from surgery. I was wondering if I was on track or if I should be doing better for how big I started out. My starting weight when I got home from surgery was 342 and I am now at 261 that is 81 pounds lost. Is this good? I am happy with it but I wanted to know if I should be doing better. Thanks family!
  21. Haven't done a post in awhile so I thougt I would update you all that care, LOL. I am officially 4 months out from surgery and down 81 pounds. I feel great and am so happy I did this surgery so far. There are many things I have to fight in order to stay on track and push myself to workout, just like before surgery, but I fight it all the time. I am learning more and more everyday how much this surgery is just a TOOL and not an answer. Yes it helps you lose more weight than you would on your own, but only if you are staying on track with eating right, getting in all your Protein and exercising. If you don't do what you are suppose to do you are NOT going to lose very good or fast. That would be my one piece of advice. RELIZE it's just a TOOL not an answer.
