  1. Hi Karen and Welcome!!!!! Congrats on being banded and hope you love this forum as much as I do!
  2. Well... I guess the Little Dutch Boy would have been at a loss for plugging that leak! Glad you are back minus the kinks and leaks.
  3. Well I'll tell ya... there is going to be another jump on the scale sometime this week because I am still up that one pound from last week... My rings are usually so loose that they won't stay straight and this morning they are too tight... oh and Aunt Flo is commin... WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Okay... done feelin sorry for myself... back to busting my butt for nuttin... okay... I guess I wasn't done feelin sorry for myself.
  4. Okay... now you made me cry... that is a wonderful NSV!
  5. I'm thinking if there is the slightest chance that a bit of carbonation could stretch my pouch... I'm not gonna do it! I accidentally took a sip of something with fizzzzz and felt like spitting it back out... so... I stick to the diet ice tea if I need something in a can. I do miss having a beer now and then but I certainly could replace it with one of Penni's drinks.
  6. Okay Paula... I'm in! My bandiversary is June 30th so this might really spur me on to be closer to my goal. We leave for vacation July 1st and I want to feel good about every picture we take! Ummmmm ... I'll skip the swimsuit thang... yep...definitely can't go there yet. First I have to get comfortable in my own skin... then maybe a second one.
  7. Woo Hooooo.... VERAAAAAA.... come baaaaaacccckkk and give us the goods! Hope everything is going okay!
  8. Penni... I am really glad to see this post it sounds much more like the great lady that I am sure you are. I think it is wonderful that all of our moderators bring a different personality facet into the melting pot and I hope the fences are on the way to being mended.
  9. Betty... I lost my father as well at age 16... I am so sorry that it has been such a rough day on a day that is already tough for you... ((((HUgs))))
  10. Watching this list grow day by day has brought a smile to my face on a frequent basis and It has crossed my mind that it would be a very comforting and encouraging list for those that are pre-banding. I have felt zero pressure... only joy to see so many having such great success with their bands!
  11. John... Dr. THomas Chua in Milwaukee... Dr. Wasco and Georgan in Neenah... Dr. Kemmerling in Green Bay. THere are others and they can be found on obesityhelp.com under the surgeon finder link. Darcy
  12. ((((HUGS))))) Betty... now... group (((((HUG)))))).... Betty... I think you are absolutely right... I refer people to this forum constantly because it is such a wonderful... kind and supportive site. When I first started this journey... I went to another site where there was a huge flame war going on and I immediately kept on searching for another place for support and information. I always twinge when controversy erupts for fear that the board is becoming like the "others"... BUT.... it always returns to being the happy supportive place that I've come to love so much.
  13. Janie... you look awesome!!!! WOWSA... oh... and I think I have fallen in love with your dog... yep... a bad case of big puppy love! I LOVE big dogs and have always wanted a Great Dane... hopefully someday! Maybe you'll have puppies available one day from your beautiful boy!
  14. Christina A ... "Fighter" ... I was riding home today and was singing and bouncing all over the driver's seat. Footloose... Kenny Loggins Great thread!
  15. (((Nancy))) It's just not fair that dogs have such a short life-span... I'm so sorry and it's a good thing that your dear friend doesn't have to suffer any longer...
  16. I tend to belch more in general now... it's worse when I skip a meal or when I eat too much or too quickly. My fill must really be kicking in because I find this is happening almost with every meal... When I don't eat I have yucky pain in my lt shoulder and belch like a grown man drinking beer.
  17. I literally haven't bought any new clothes along the way... have either continued wearing the hugely baggy clothes or hand me downs... or... clothes that I saved from my trip up the scales. I think that I will go shopping for PRETTY undies when I reach the 180 mark and... I never tan... but... I may trade in my casper look just this once and get a tan!
  18. WTG Penni!!! All of your hard work is paying off bigtime! Congrats!
  19. Betty... hang in there... the loss will show up! Don't forget... muscle weighs more than fat and sometimes I think we are building muscle faster than we are losing the fat. Don't forget to take measurements... sometimes the loss shows up that way if not on the scale. Melissa.. congrats on the loss!
  20. Rachel.... So glad you are feeling so great! Yes... a fill can change some of the foods you are able to eat... just be sure to eat slowly and chew... chew... chew when trying foods after your fill. Before my first fill I was able to eat nearly anything... after... bread and eggs and chicken were more difficult.
  21. Gained a pound this week... not surprised... I was on a mission of self-sabatoge this past week. Soooo... hopefully I'll get my self together and have a better week. Hope everyone had a good week!
  22. (((hugs))) Chantal... I hope your sis and baby are okay... please give us an update soon!
  23. Rachel... I sure wasn't a happy camper after surgery... but thank goodness it gets better with each passing day! Just keep walking and sipping and get plenty of rest!
  24. Yep Sharon... and you want to be able to feel it... more importantly you want your surgeon to be able to feel it so they can access it for fills. It used to give me the willies in the beginning but now it feels like it's always been there.
