Missy what symptoms did you have for them to rule it was your gallbladder?BTW your recent pic of your and your daughter is such an accomplishment. Be proud... you look awesome. The weight has been coming off slow and I still feel very overweight (have another 40 to go) I am so looking forward to when I can feel thinner.

Anyone using Gwynnie Bee for clothing?

I have been very luck at my local Goodwill.. I have found $200.00 jeans for only $4.50... it is a perfect place for me while I am losing weight and going down in sizes.
  3. Hello everyone... Yesterday I went in for my 4th fill... I believe I have 6.7cc's in 10cc band. I started doing strenuous walking over a month ago... I have developed a small discomfort under my right breast area. The Dr. told me yesterday he thinks it is my gallbladder... this makes me very nervous. Has anyone encountered gallbladder issues? If so, what did you do about it?
  4. would love to know what you ate to lose so much weight! you look fantastic! an Inspiration! My weight loss has been slow... I hope I can look as good as you one day.
  5. I was also banded May 6th but have only lost 23 lbs. I can't belive how much weight you have lost... I thought I would have lost a whole lot more by now...can you please tell me what your daily diet consists of? I started at 218 and I am now 196. Any advice would help...PS I have 6.2ccs in a 10cc band.
  6. So you have not lost any weight with the band? I was banded on Mya 6th and have lost about 22lbs. It is been a slow process for me. I have had 2 fills. I have 5.5cc in a 10cc band. I go for another fill on Aug 9th. I will tell you that I am watching what I eat... no sugar and no carbs. PROTEIN 1st! It isn't easy... and I do feel like I am on a diet BUT I do not get hungry and I do not want any bad foods, (Mcdonalds etc...) to go into me. So I am eating a lot healthier now. I would not say it has been easy but it hasn't been all that difficult either. Having no or very little hungry has helped alot. Good luck to you...remember the band is just the tool WE have to make the right foods choices...the band will never do that for us.
  7. I was banded on May 6th. I have had two fills a total of 5.5 in a 10cc band. I have only lost 20lbs. I did not have to do a pre op diet. I am however wondering why I have not lost more. After the second fill, I tried to eat rice and got stuck so bad. The pain was unbearable and then I thrwe up and felt fine. It scared me so I chew very well now. (I have not tried rice since) I see in my clothes they are fitting me better or are loose. I am thankful that I have not gained weight... so like you all say slow and steady wins the race... I cannot wait to get to the finish line!!!!!!!
  8. WOW... I was banded on May 6th too. I have only lost 20lbs.... What are you eating? I barely eat but do try to get protein in first, either egg whites, shakes or fish... I have had two fills... everyoje around me (family and friends) keep asking why is it going slow for me? I know that I am doing everything right. I started at 218 and now weigh 198 I am 5'4 female age 50 could that make a difference?

  10. Okay so I had my first "stuck" episode last night. Scared me so bad... But I did a full flown vomiting episode 30 seconds after. I threw up violently. I thought after a stuck episode it just comes back up. Last night scared me and this morning I am sore from throwing up. Yesterday I received my 2nd fill I have 5.5cc in a 10cc band. I was on full liquids yesterday and did a very stupid thing and attempted to eat a half a spoon of rice... I will NEVER do that again. Now I am afraid to eat food... I will take it easy toay with liquids and then I will progress to mushy food... wow this band has alot in store for me... the good news.. down 19 lbs.

  12. I was very bloated for three weeks after my surgery... all I can say is all your symptoms will go away... patience... things do get better... try Gax x too that helped with the gas for me...
  13. When she starts to notice that you are losing weight and looking and feeling better...she will get it. Just wait... keep telling her and anyone else that you did it for YOU. It is not the easy way out... we want to eat all the bad foods and cant... if you ask me... having the band is a mind game... you have to tell yourself that you are worth losing weight and you deserve the band to help you do it. My daughter has been so negative, but now that she sees me lose weight and feel better about myself she is happy for me.
  14. Kinda weird feeling I am having... it's like a discomfort that I cannot explain. I know the port is there and is aches at times. Last night Had to take some of my lortab from surgery just to calm it down... is this temporary?

it gets better... all of these first few days will be a blur soon. I was banded on 5/6 and had a serious complication from the surgery and was readmitted for three days after the surgery. I am happy to say that I feel sooo much better and I am loving the weight coming off. I put on a pair of jeans today that I have not worn in over a year and boy does it make the bad memories go away!!! hang in there....

    Just a little rant...

Hey I was also banded on May 6th! I have only lost 13lbs. Your weight loss is unbelievable! Did you have to do a pre op diet? I did not...but my weight is coming off slowly... just had my first fill yesterday, they put in 4cc's and I am not hungry... all I had yesterday was Clear liquids and I am attempting to have some Soup now, but not very hungry. I just wanted to congratulate you on your weight loss. I want to lose a total of 70 lbs. My weight started at 216 and I was 203 this morning. What are some of the foods that you are eating?
  17. Hi Everyone! I had my surgery for LB on May 6th. I had a serious complication called Ileus, (trapped gas in intentines)which required me to stay in the hospital for three days after surgery with a NG tube down to my stomach! I am three weeks post op and I still have severe bloating in my stomach. For example today I ate Carnation instant Breakfast (SF) for breakfast, 4 oz of tuna fish for lunch and 4 oz of creamed spinach for dinner. Thats All I could get in. My stomach tonight looks like I am 7 months pregnant! I have not lost any more weight since my second week. (total 10lbs) I am barely eating, but definitely getting my Water in. Has anyone else experience this?

    Bloated!

Thanks to all of your responses! It is always good to hear feedback from others going through similar issues. I do feel better everyday and I did a 2 mile walk today. I am going to stay away from milk products to see if this helps. It seems I am also lactose intolerant. Good luck to all of you...good news...down 2 more lbs today!!!!!

6 days post band replacement surgery

I can't believe how amazing you look! I am also 5'4" and staring weight was 215. I was banded on May 6th, 2013. I had a serious complication called Ileus. it is gas caught in the intestines and you feel like a balloon inside that is going to burst! So I was admitted the very next day (May 7th) and had A NG tube inserted thru my nose down into my stomach for 2 days! Not fun. I am home now and do not feel well and have had regret over doing this to myself. Not to mention all the pain my family and friends are going through watching me suffer. So my question is, does it get better? does the nausea go away? Does the bloat and gas go away? I am actually eating normal solid foods like, cream of wheat, cottage cheese, and soups. Could this be why I am so bloated? The dr ordered a normal diet for me in the hospital when the tube came out and they brought up pancakes, sausage and oatmeal. Of which I could not eat any of it! I just attempted to go out to dinner with my daughter and I ordered French onion soup and just sipped on the broth, now I feel like I am so full that I am going to explode! Any help will be appreciated. I am from Davie, Florida along way from you!
  22. Hi Everyone! I was banded this Monday May 6th. I came home same day and violently threw up Monday night. On Tuesday the pain in my abdomen was severe... I also started to bloat. I called the dr and they readmitted me for ILEUS. I never heard of this. As a result I had to have a NG tube inserted thru my nose down to my stomach for two days for the gas to release. I am home now (late Thursday) and need all the help I can get to get this gas out of me... Anyhelp will be appreciated. Walking has given me some relief but not enough.

    JUST A PICK ME UP:)

I am always looking for long term bandits. It is so good to see how well the band has worked for you and that you have kept the weight off. Be proud of yourself! Can you tell us some secrets to losing the weight?
  24. Okay So I'm not banded yet have three weeks to go and all my head keeps saying is I need sugar. I know the band is a tool for my stomach... how do you all get over the mind asking for sugar?
  25. Thanks to all of you for you suggestions and advice. I try to practice chewing my food to mush now to see how it is going to be after the band. I also trey not to drink which is weird. I see all of you have made so much progress and I can't be to different from all of you so this must work for me too. I know struggling with my weight since I was nine has been my life's topic for so many years. I am over it... I am over watching the scale go up and up...
