  1. Well said Patty! and Mello, I agree.. give this another serious try.. it seems like you are working hard but something is missing. Maybe change the mind set just a little bit. As she said above, it is not suppose to make you full, I thought the same thing and after I read a link that Mis provided and I believe it's on her profile, I had a better understand on how to work better with my band. I to have been stuck and am stuck at the moment, granted I just had the band about a month ago. I suggest you get a my fitness pal, add me my name is destynee13 , we can help each other! It makes you accountable for what you are intaking, every little bite!! and it truly does help, you'd be astonished how a little of this and that can really add up!! As far as the bypass goes, The reason I choose the band is because it had the least complications. I know a few people with the band, and I honestly would rather stay fat or work my ass off with nothing then to get the bypass. Those few people are in and out of the hospital all the time, it's just not a life I know I would want for myself. When it works and things go smoothly .. they do work well, BUT! and thats a big BUT! I wouldn't want to take that chance. Believe in the band.. see a nutritionist and work it girl!! OOH! and also go to the food/nutrition area, there is a section on carb cycling.. a bunch are doing it, and seems to be going very well.. I am starting mine tomorrow! it's VERY interesting. look it up!! Good luck and send me a message whenever! You can do it!!!
  2. I am with you on this sandi. My scale hasn't moved either and I haven't eaten past 1200 cals. I got banded a day before you. I did read it was normal to be at a stand still for a couple weeks. I am on solids as per my doc when I went for my first appt, I pretty much skipped the mushie stage, was on it for about a day but as soon as I started to eat, I didn't lose. Just don't give up.. I few times I've wanted to mess up here and there but choose not to. also.. look in food/nutrition area, and find Carb cycling. quit a few are trying it out and seems to be working great! I am starting this tomorrow!

  7. I am so excited about how I will look! The only thing I really worry about is looking older. I don't want to look older.. but then if that is ever the case there is always ways to take care of it all! lifestyle life!? lol. its been way to long since I've been thin. I was never skinny, always a med/large in HS. but I felt good about myself.. Can't wait to have that confidence again.. I use to take pics with my friends/family and by my self.. posing.. now.. I HATE taking pictures.. takes awhile for me to approve a picture a friend can put on their facebook of me. Terrible.. but I really hate the way I look.

  13. I am so with you on this PBK! I am on MFP also and my daily recommendation seems high to me also. 1600cals? I stay around 1k-1100ish. I am making an appt with a nutritionish this week so I hope to get some better insight on that. Did you see Mis thread on food and nutrition called carb cycling? I bought the book she gives you a general idea and it has Awesome reviews.. so I suggest you find that thread and read it.. Gonna start that this week! Many people who are plateau'd ahve breakin that from the carb cycling. Try it out!!

  19. Wow, what an inspirational success story Robyn! I love to read these as it keeps me looking forward and making the right decisions. I know this will all be worth it. Post your before after pics! I am sure you look amazing! COngrats to you .. sorry your daughter had the bypass. I said I rather be fat than have that, way to many complications, the lap band was the only choice I would ever take. So far so good, I haven't had my 1st fill in my non filled band yet, not sure who that will feel.. but I am hoping things go smoothly. Thanks again for your story!
  20. Congrats on your weight loss !! See if you can find a Bariatric surgeon and maybe do as they suggested and have them cut that cord. I know it was painful when you had it done, but rather endure the pain for a bit then having to deal with the struggle for a very long time.. think about it. well I am sure you have.. Hope you feel better soon!
  21. thanks for that.. I did not know!! i haven't been drinking nearly as much as I should.. but have been good with eating .. I better start drinking a lot more!
