  1. Hi all - I recently started using myfitnesspal and notice that it says I only get 25 grams of sugar per day. Does that make sense? Seems super low.
  2. Congrats! Celebrate every victory!!
  3. I totally hear you. I told some select work people but then I heard about others talking about it. I really don't want to be the topic of conversation. My husband & I told our kids (10, 7, 4) just so they wouldn't worry when Mommy was in the hospital & didn't feel great after the procedure. All of a sudden I was getting concerned Inquiries from the day care & elementary school. So funny. People talk about other people all the time. Just ignore them. We all have our support systems - their opinions are the ones we need to count on.
  4. My drs office didn't offer the soups either but I asked the question & they were find with it. Good Luck! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  5. Optifast also has a chicken or tomato Soup mix which I found a nice change from eating all sweet things. I got them in amazon. Same stats as the shakes. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  6. Congrats on your surgery! I has my wls on 9/11 and am still somewhat itchy & red around my incision sites. As long as they are not hot or oozy, should be ok. Good that you'll see dr... S/he can confirm. Best of luck! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  7. Good luck w/ your pre-op! I recall being told (or reading in the post-op materials) not to drink from a straw. I believe because it's very easy to drink too much too fast. Pre-op straws, no issue. Where did you order the unjury? The chocolate is fantastic and I'd love to get more (a friend game me hers). Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  8. Hi - Do any of you spin? If so, how soon after wls did you start? I'm ~3 wks out and am signed up today. Been doing it for ~6 yrs. Thx!! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  9. Does everyone use artificial sweeteners? Pre wls, I used agave syrup in my coffee. I prefer to use things organic / natural and font really enjoy stevia or truvia. Thoughts/ suggestions? Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  10. Thx for your input. I was getting worried that it was something more serious. I will still call the dr though, just to be sure. It's a bit disconcerting! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  11. That is fantastic!!! Keep it up! You're a great role model!! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  12. Hi - I got banded on 9/11 and for the past week or so have had on and off pain in my left back : shoulder blade area. It comes & goes and I can't quite isolate what could be causing it. Has anyone ever experienced this? It's a dull ache. Any thoughts? Am calling my dr on Monday. Thx. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  13. Congratulations!! You should be so proud of your accomplishment!! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  14. I'm in the puréed stage now. Have mostly been using Perdue griller chicken strips chopped up finely in the mini-cuisinart. I will have ricotta, spinach, peas, sweet potato. All total 1/2 cup. I usually just mi it all together. Thought it would be yucky but It's actually pretty good! I also do scrambled egg and cooked oatmeal made w/ milk, cinnamon and vanilla. Oh, and Water & Protein shakes in between meals. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  15. I was banded on 9/11 and they just remove some of the steri-strips on Friday. The skin is totally red / raised and itchy so was wondering if it was allergic reaction to the glue on the tape. I can see the red under the other remaining tape. Has anyone experienced this? Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  16. Great point that you cannot untell someone. I purposely only told close friends & family but my little ones told others for me :-). I received some negative feedback from in-laws about leaving them in the dark, which made me angry. Their need to tell me their fears / concerns / thoughts does not = my need to hear it. Tell who you trust and who supports you and don't worry about the others. People judge - plain & simple, fat, thin, whatever! Best of luck & keep your eye on the prize!! Your good health!! 17. Congratulations! It's most likely gas pains but be sure to get in your fluids & Protein if that's what your dr recommended. Walk around if you can - helps get the gas out. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  18. What is the Green Zone? What is a PB? Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  19. I had my op on 9/11 and took off the whole week. I started back this week, working from home. Couldn't carry my computer bag etc as too heavy. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  20. It'll get easier! The hardest days for me were the two clear liquid only days right before the surgery. I was so hungry & cranky but it's all worth it! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
