  1. i am just a week away from surgery.... deliberating about weather to take my Voltaren (an anti-inflammatory drug i take for knee that is a mess) Surgeon recommends going off all NSAIDS 10 days prior to surgery, but says we can deal with it if i cannot manage to be off. the reason is the medication depleats your platelets. i work 12 hr shifts on my feet and cant imagine getting through without it. i usually take it twice a day and i have cut it down to once. any thoughts, questions, or concerns?
  2. sounds like once you do finally have your surgery you will be well prepared! i feel for you tho. im only thru one day of the pre op diet and cant imagine doing this for 13 more days. your post gave me perspective, so thanks. hang in there!! p.s. tell me it gets easier by at least the second week!!
  3. i work on the mother baby floor and was only planning on taking a week off, but i may heed all this advise and take two! surgery scheduled for the 10th of september. first day of preop protein shakes and im not digging it! all worth it in the end, i am sure good luck all!!
  4. started my preop diet today and have to go two weeks on it. my surgeon requires 3-4 protein shakes a day and that is it. i think im more concerned at this point of sticking to this preop stuff than the surgery or the aftermath. would love to hear how your journey goes .... with such close surgery dates, i think we could be a great support for each other!! and anyone else!!
