  1. I had my first fill at five weeks post op and my surgeon told me the first fill really gives you very little restriction. I am experiencing just that. Think I will call for another. My head now can take good control Most of the time but this adjustable band is just for this reason. Call for a fill and don't feel bad. That is why we got the band vs other options. I agree that good food choices are still very important. Good luck to you!
  2. No I started with an empty band. The ban itself has given me decent restriction but eventually my head took over. I can eat a cup of food and be satisfied but should prolly only eat 4oz. So my surgeon injected 4ccs. I have heard on this site about some prep for a fill so I thought for sure I would not be getting one today. I guess my surgeon does not require prep. Lol
  3. i got my first fill today too! congrats on your success so far!
  4. im five weeks post op and saw my surgeon today for a regular post op visit. i have been feeling like im in the green zone these days, but my head is also doing alot of the food choices and restriction, which .... im happy after many years of self sabotage. my surgeon decides to give me my first fill, much to my surprise! all of you who have yet to get one, its not a big deal, pain wise. anxious to see how different things go here in the weeks to come with fluid now in my band.
  5. im 4 weeks post op and noticing every once in a while, major nausea 1-2 hours post meal. those meals i ate slowly, felt satisfied after, waited to drink water etc. am i alone? anyone, anyone?
  6. like internal port pain? i think that is what i have. its not the incision site or anything... well, how young are you? lol i have felt the same way... like i should be good to go, but my body seems to be telling me it is still doing some healing!
  7. you are right.... i feel like i have been banded forever and i should be totally normal now, but i am sure there is some healing still going on. it feels inflamed..... gonna try and take your advise... that and pray work slows down a tad
  8. i am defiantly seeing stress "tighten" my band if that is indeed what i am feeling.... i am 3 weeks post op and when im stressed my stomach feels like week one. its not a good "tight" feeling
  9. i went back to work this week and had 3 12hr shifts.... extremely busy shifts at the hospital. my stomach most the day felt like i did post op week one.... like it is still all inflamed. ugh! i cut out my one cup of coffee that i will have every once in a while thinking that was it... but nope. anyone experience the same? hopefully it gets better. ideally id take some more work off but dont think i can afford to do so ...
  10. good for you on the walking. it all i can do to get the errands done in a day. this will be changing soon!
  11. i am pretty sure this is the medical follow up to the surgery itself. making sure your incisions are healing well. answering questions you may have about your physical healing in the process. good luck! how are you feeling?
  12. i have my post op appt today as well. how are you all feeling, recovery wise? yesterday i had a growing list for my surgeon, today i am feeling a little better and wonder if a am turning the corner in my recovery?
  13. i am right there with ya..... and my head swims with the idea of "what if i will always feel this way... emotionally, and physically?" today for some reason i feel a tad better and almost see a light at the end of the tunnel! id love to encourage each other here since we are band date twins how are you feeling today?
  14. That is good to hear. Banded 9-10 and I'm "done "with protein shakes. I need to remember that soon this phase of the process will just be a glimmer of whole amazing journey. I'm down 7lbs since surgery and 24 since the start of this journey. I want to embrace this with joy, but am I the only one who is reluctant to do so?
  15. i gotta get in on this one.... im only post op day 2 but dying of gas pain..... help!!
  16. i feel that which i think is inflamation of the lap sites.... what do you think? im trying to move as much as i can but feel sooo dang bloated, its so uncomfortable. i dont even want to drink (however i am forcing myself). anyone have a good solution to the bloating besides walking it out?
  17. i drank chicken and beef broth. worked really well when i wanted something salty too.... good luck!
  18. i am day two out of surgery. did bariatric advantage as well.... your surgeons diet was the same as mine..... there are so many different pre op diets out there.. i had to tell myself "its just food" and the truth is, the diet gets easier after day 2 or 3. hang in there!
  19. i was banded on monday and am comforted to hear similar experiences like lack of sleep etc. i also woke with a terrible headache (caffeine withdrawal?) waves of nausea now and then too. im also surprised that i can only take half sips of fluid at a time. makes it hard to get all the fluids in (may also have caused my headache). dont mean to sound neurotic about the scale numbers but i just figured since i have had virtually no calories for 3 days i would have dropped some pounds, but i have actually gained 3!! am i alone here? thanks for reading... good going everyone!
  20. happy to report my platelets look great.. ready for my surgery tomorrow. thanks for all your answers.
  21. i DO have facebook but not sure who all i want to know my lapband biz!! lol you know? i see you added me as a friend. how do you do that? what hospital is your surgery at? lots of questions.... would not mind if there was a place to chat so the whole forum doesn't have to endure it !
  22. im in the city of orange ca as well..... 7 days pre op to go..... where are you in your journey?
