  19. Hello, I have a question to anyone who can answer it... I just got lapband on 8/28/12... And I have to go for my fill in 6wks.. I was told that I have to follow a liquid diet for 2wks, then muchy soft foods 3wks after that... And so on... My question is.... On the day of my surgery, is my lapband filled? Is it just the band alone? Sorry if I sound uneducated about this but I honestly don't know.. only because I feel hungry at times & I know when people get their lapband filled, they're not..
  20. Ms. 1990, I'm glad & proud you want to get the lapband... I personally think your bf doesn't want you being skinny. I'm sure he feels he has the power in the relationship bcuz once arguments happens, he can always use the fact that you're overweight as a bad thing to hurt your feelings. If you lose weight, you can confidence, feel better about yourself & won't tolerate his BS. Is he a big guy? He probably won't be able to handle you looking great! Scared a nicer guy will win your heart. He's human & its normal to feel jealous BUT that's the last thing he should be concern about.... He should be concern about your health & trust you that you will be loyal to him. I'm blessed that my boyfriend was very supportive about me getting banded & stood by my side & came to my doctor appointments with me... But if he was against it, I would of left him... Getting the band is something we all did to better ourselves & our health... It's not so I can go look for another boyfriend.. Sorry I made this so long but my point is.... If the lapband is something you want to do, then that's what you should do.. Who cares if the whole world is against you... You have to put yourself first.. DO THIS!! You will be healthier & happier!! :-)
  21. Laker, Congrats on your accomplishment!! Good for you, very happy for you! I just have a question..... How did you/anyone get their band slipped? Just want to know what to look out for..
  22. When I had to start my 2wk shake before surgery, that was very very very difficult for me to do!! I had to lock myself up in my bedroom or leave my house while everyone ate & I will show up when everything is put away... I purchased the strawberry powder shake from my doctor's office. They said pour a scoop, water/skim milk & shake it up.. it was disguisting!!!!! Lord forgive me! I chose to get my blender, add 5ices, chop up a banana, chop up 5strawberries, pour the scoop of powder Meal Replacement, I chose to add a little bit of Crystal Light (doc said Crystal Light is ok to drink during 2wk diet) fruit punch juice, blend it up! Added 3more ice cubes to make it colder, blend it up more... And it came out DELICIOUS!!!! Doc didn't want me adding strawberries or banana to my shakes but I'm sorry, I had to!! At the end of the day, I intake less than 1,000 calories to my diet.. So try it out.. I enjoyed my shakes :-)
  23. Hi everyone, I just had my lapband on 8/28/12... And everything seems so far ok... I haven't vomited or anything.. but I've been told that I must follow the diet to avoid band slipping... How does a person know if their band slipped? Is there certain side effects? Just wondering what to look out for...
  24. I love this website, so many people I can relate to & it feels I'm not alone. Everyone's body is different so we are all going down different roads but I will meet you all on the skinny side :-)
  25. Hello Ms. Bee Congrats on getting your lapband. I do understand its important not to eat solid foods... I haven't had a meal, I actually do have Isopure meal replacement.. I drink water, my shakes & have myself oatmeal.. Oatmeal is very soft & gentle to my stomach but doesn't really fill me up.. I'm still hungry after my bowl of oatmeal.. I do want to eat foods but so far I'm doing pretty well... I think I may drink water too fast? I feel a bit of air in my stomach & sometimes need to make myself burp... But it usually goes away... Is that normal?
