  4. Hello, I was in the same boat you are in. I had my surgery on 8/20/2012 so far I am down 20 lbs. I had a rough start because i was sick from the anesthesia. Now that, that is out of my system I feel great. I go for my follow up on Tuesday and can't wait to see what my Dr. has to say. I DO NOT regret having the band at all. It will be life changing, but I am so ready for it. Good luck to you!
  5. At first my husband was a little distant about my surgery, but I think more was money. He had just had some kidney surgery and we had bills coming in from all his dr.'s. But we had a long talk one day and he got on board and has been great since. But I was determined I was going to do this with or without my families support. As far as candy etc. I gave it up a month ago along with dt. coke. I haven't really missed either. I had my lap band on August 20th. So far down 13 lbs. Hang in there, be strong for yourself.
  6. I have had mine a week and have had no problems. A friend of mine has had hers since 2008 and she has not had any problems with hers.

I have to admit it was a rough few days. I am feeling better and getting around more and more with out pain. I am sick of liquid and today ate a few crackers. It felt so good to have something "real" . I just about can't eat anymoe strained soup, jello, pudding etc. I slept in a bed last night. That was awesome. Much better than a recliner! I go for my follow up on the 28th for one week. (surguery was on the 20th) I am excited to see what the DR has to say. Did anyone else eat "real" food the first week of liquids?

Tomorrow (August 20, 2012) I am having my lap ban surgery. A little nervous. Not so much about the surgery, but my life changes. I have a really close friend that had it done and has done really well. She still has her social life and goes out with friends for parties and suppers. The week before is awful. But I know it will be worth it.. The more support the better it goes. I have met a couple of other fantastic woman having the same surgery. We talk often and it sure does help.
