You can call your surgeons office and they will tell you what they offer as far as repayment or promotions they may be running. I just went through this myself. My doctors office offers 60 months @ 14.99%. Hope this helps!!

I've got my mind set, money in the bank (I am self pay), care credit approved for fees, preop foods bought. I called the surgeons office today to make my appointment and they took my name/ number to call me back...well, it's almost 6pm here in GA so I guess I won't get a call back today...and the waiting continues I am soooo psyched! It's finally about to happen! I worked 5 (12hour) shifts last week to save up the final money I needed. Super thankful for this opportunity and the support I've already gotten on this forum! Hoping to post a surgery date tomorrow!

Ditto! I exclude myself from a lot. I Always say no to group trips to the beach because God forbid I have to be in a swimsuit around people I know. My son plays tball an I dread every game because I'm just so uncomfortable in my own skin. I just recently turned down a girls weekend at the beach with my coworkers...I want to go so bad, but I just sit home and have a pitty party instead. Uuugggh!! And THIS is why money isn't an issue for me. It will pay for itself when I can enjoy life again!

Congrats on a surgery date!! I too am self pay. Ive had a few moments where I questioned spending such a large amount of money...even had some feelings of guilt. THEN, a fellow bandster/co worker said to me "you will be making payments on something for the rest of your life. Consider this a payment on yourself"...those few words have been PRICELESS in my journey. It is time to do something for ME! Hoping to get my date in the next week Good luck to you!!

I'm in the same boat and also frustrated I applied for care credit and they approved 6800 (I need 12000)....I have the cash for the rest but I'm scared of care credit and their high interest rates...so disappointed

I applied for $8000 on care credit and the approved me for $6800. I did it online and I got an immediate approval with a code. But that's it..no instructions on what to do next...anyone dealt with them that could give me advice? How do I find out payment terms, etc? Also, has anyone had success calling and getting them to increase the loan? Thanks!!!

I've been looking into lap band for almost 5 years now. Money has always been the holdup. I finally have it saved up and now I'm having second thoughts. Should I try to do Atkins? Go back to weight Watchers? They never worked (long term) for me, so why am i even considering them? Did anyone else experience this when it was finally time to have the procedure scheduled? I'm a self pay so once I call and make my prep appointment, my surgery will be scheduled 2 weeks out. I guess it's so close and I'm just getting nervous. Encouragement please!!! Lol
