  1. Wow, as a nurse I would never of said something like that to anyone! She definitely needs a class in when to to open her mouth! surgery- 8/27/12 ........ down 40 and counting
  2. For me, it was 11 months after seminar, I didmy 6 month diet - the hold up was the lazy scheduler in my MDs office( that was fired for not doing her job). Based on my insurance I paid co- pays only. So far only about $200.00 thought the whole year. surgery- 8/27/12 ........ down 40 and counting
  3. I did one week 2 shakes / day, I could have broth SF Jello, Popsicles, drinks, and one lean meal. LOTS of water! surgery- 8/27/12 ........ down 40 and counting
  4. It my first fill today, surgery was 8/27, lost a total of 20 pounds since then!! Was going to get 4.0cc, but suggested 3.0 cc, Only got 3.5 cc, I was nervous and my MD compromised with me,LOL Kind of a weird feeling, but not painful, or anything. On ward! surgery- 8/27/12 ........ down 34 and counting
  5. MY doctor/nutritionist said no caffeine, why? I have been drinking decaf coffee since surgery. surgery- 8/27/12 ........ down 34 and counting
  6. My doctor pulled me out for 3weeks, although after 2i was good, but being a nurse he didn't want me to have anything pop the sutures, lifting patients and such? surgery- 8/27/12 ........ down 34 and counting
  7. Have clothes in my closet that still have tags on them, just for $hits and giggles, I tried them on....... I am wearing them today with no tightness! SSSooooooo excited to keep it going! :0) surgery- 8/27/12 ........ down 34 and counting
  8. I had my 1 week and 3 day follow up post op and have lost 16 pounds! He moved me to "stage 4" soft foods- tuna,chicken,anything soft he said. Told me no bread and i am okay with that! I feel great, incisions are healing nicely. So excited! surgery- 8/27/12 ........ down 34 and counting
  9. I too had anticipated a lot of pain, after reading for the past 6 or months, my pain never went above a 2/10! Very happy with everything so far! Good luck to you dwilliams
  10. Definitely not drinking enough can cause dizziness, headaches, -make sure you monitor your Fluid intake and see how you do dwilliams
  11. I had a bed hold in case I needed to stay, for insurance purposes, although I did not have to stay. I was admitted at 8:30, surgery at 10:30, once I was awake and stable enough, walked around a bit, I was taken to x-ray, I actually had to wait until the surgeon was done with all his cases for that day and he did his final rounds at night. Discharge was about 6:30.one of the best experiences I have ever had Ina hospital with me being the patient! dwilliams
  12. I posted in here to try and get some postitive feedback as far as other creative ideas,yes I did get a "generic" menu post op from my physician. Looking for other suggestions from some that have already been down this road apparently people don't want to be bothered?? I am starting to find this the trend along the way of the board. dwilliams

I was just banded yesterday, everything looks great, I feel great, he said as long as I can keep Water down I can go to full liquids today, my question is becauset his will be my foods for the next few weeks, what ideas do others have. I have search online, but can't seem to find any? Thank you dwilliams

  16. I feel great! Very small amount of pain at one incision site, a bit of a sore throat, but over all feel great!
  17. Totally depends on your insurance or self pay, I started the process in September 2011, first Md appt wasn't until the beginning of December- and from there was a 6 month documented diet, and to lose 5% for the doctors office and all the in between consults to get to today! I never thought the day would get here! 3 more hours and I will be on the other side! Take the time, inform yourself, read everything you can to make it the best - it will be here in no time! dwilliams

  19. Monday is my big day, I am hoping that the liver has shrunk enough to go through with the procedure. I have followed the diet to a "T" and lost 6 pound so far.... Starting to get nervous!!! dwilliams
  20. My pre op was 3 Protein shakes per day, and one lean meal which is 4 oz lean meat, 2 cups salad or veggies, 1/2 cup fruit, and light yogurt, and sugar free Jello,Popsicles,crystal light I wanted.not too too bad, but just getting used to the liquids mostly. Good luck dwilliams

I'm an LPN and work in LTC, I do a lot of walking with my med cart and bending to do certain treatments and the occasional lifting and positioning, I am hoping to be off for 2 weeks, from surgery date until my follow up visit with the surgeon. We will see, good luck! Nurses Rock! :0) dwilliams
  22. Knock it off and get back to the gym!!! How was that? Just say no to the Cookies and candy - deal with a little at a time. Everything will work fine. dwilliams
  23. Are eggs considered "lean"? Or tuna? Pre-op diet started today ANSI am allowed one meal that consists of lean meat, veggies. Thanks! dwilliams
  24. Well, it's only day one and I am a coffee-holic but I am doing ok, I have had my coffee black, and will have my protein shake in a bit. Got to get some broth, my husband said he would do it too and caved already! LOL that's okay-I am doing it not him and he said he would support me in every way. One way to occupy myself and not think of eating -sounds crazy- clean my pantry! LOL One -almost down- 6 1/2 to go! :0) dwilliams
