  1. Thank goodness!!!! I can eat again. 3/28/07 I went for my 4 week followup and my first meal was Hamburger Steak, mashed potatoes and green beans at The Berryman House. I only at about a 1/4 of my plate. I was able to take some to work the next day for lunch and had enough left for supper but silly me left the plate at work. Oh well. I seem to notice everything is saltier or stronger now. My entire perspective has changed on food in general. Even though I thought I'd die any moment during the liquid diet, I now can say something positive aside of the weight loss came from it. I just have to remember that food is what brought me to this point in my life when making future decisions. :clap2:

  3. A gettaway is just what I was thinking.....take the grandchild for a trip if it's the way to perk her up. But while the grandchild sleeps, be sure to spice things up a bit with romance.....flowers, candles, soft music or poetry....not necessarily intercourse. Just plain ol' intamacy. Take a photo book along if possible. With pictures from the time you two met until now. The happier moments of course. Anything to make her laugh, smile and reflect on how lucky she is.
  4. Wow you are brave in so many ways! Congrats and many wishes for speedy recovery!
  5. Wow....you go girl!!!! You look so much younger now. I can't wait to see my results. You give me inspiration!!!!!
  6. Wow, you can eat spaghetti with noodles?
  7. Hey, I am a belly sleeper! It was so frustrating for the first 2 weeks. I've just gotten where I can sleep on belly. After a week a was sleeping on my sides though with a pillow in front of belly for cushion. Seemed to work. I do have occasional pain though in left abdomen across from belly button. Not really sure what that's about. One thing for sure, If you are a tosher and a turner....do it slowly. I thought I'd pulled something one time. Seemed like I turned but my insides were a little slower. I'm fine though. Just keep lots of pillows in bed w/ you is the best advice I can give.
  8. My surgery was 2/27/07...add me to the Feb Banster list!
  9. What everyone else said.....walk walk walk. Also, I tried eating the juice from a can of navy beans. It seemed to help. I even asked my Dr. and they said to get on the floor on hands and knees and arch butt in air and rub belly slowly in clock wise motion. Sounds CRAZY I know! Can't say if it worked or not because I later drank the bean juice which did the trick. The Dr.'s office told me that none of the gas meds would work. For the coughing, they told me to hold a pillow over my belly for cushion when coughing or even sleeping. Try some no sugar added bryers fruit pops, they're great!
  10. No foaming, but I seem to have this taste in my mouth that I can't get rid of. It's pretty nasty. One day my tongue was completely white. I think it's the liquid diet. Or maybe body just burning it's own fat. They say that puts a bad taste in your mouth. Not sure. Hope you get to feeling better.
  11. I started spotting after surgery and then went into a full period which I hadn't had in months.
  12. Thanks for the info on the wls card. It will be some time before I can use it but it was helpful. Pray for me, I still have 2 more weeks of liquid diet to go. Then 2 weeks of soft foods. I have somehow survived the last 2 weeks on liquid diet and I feel so weak. I am miserable. I want FOOD!!!
  13. My experiences have been sorta the same above. I hate it when people say after talking with me........"you have such a pretty face"....why don't they just go ahead and say "but you need to lose weight"? It's so obvious. Or one time after being out of work for a few days, one of my residents said "I haven't seen you in a while, You're kinda hard to miss". Of course the thing I really hate is when someone comes up and gives you a "pat" on the shoulder that would knock any one else out of a dang chair. What instead of a rub....they gotta whack ya one good time to make sure you feel it through all that blub? Geeze.
  14. Thanks for the info! Can anyone help me with putting my weight tickler on my profile. I'm new at this too. :girl_hug:
  15. Hey, thought we couldn't have pasta with lap band??? What's the deal with no lettuce either?
  16. Thanks for the awesome lead to great recipes!
  17. My lap band surgery was Feb 27, 2007. I lost 23lbs in 7 days. I go for followup with Dr. Blair Rowitz on March 14, 2007 and I will weigh again. I've only got 2 weeks and 3 days left of this stinkin liquid diet. Thank GOD!!! I'm gonna go crazy soon if my sniffer doesn't quite working so well. I'd be fine if I didn't have to smell food cooking all day long at work. I'm so looking forward to those scrambled eggs. I'll be on a soft food diet for 2 weeks following this liquid diet. Well gotta run for now.
