I started preop diet last week on my own but wasn't supposed to start until this week. I lost 9 lbs in a week and the preop diet mainly consisted of Protein Shakes , meat and veggies. Then Clear Liquids two days before surgery. I don't even have a surgery date yet so Im sure u will be fine by starting early. highest weight = 305 current=296

I think I am going to shoot for 3 weeks myself because the last thing i want to do is go back to work then have to go back on leave bc i wasn't ready!

Thx to all those that empathize ...we are all in it together! @tina - did i miss something? I feel u were going to make a point about this thread, but i feel that I missed it? Can u bring it home for the rest of our benefit?

@Alley - yeah I have relatives who have gone through this surgeon and also some of the staff in my PCP's office has used this Dr. as well. I live in a large city so all the referrals speak volumes, I just want them to be on top of things to the degree they are on top of getting my payments before I begin an appt!

So, I have been very proactive about making certain all of my appts were scheduled well in advance. I've been in this process since July. Long story short, I scheduled my sleep consultation twice and both times it was cancelled with no advance notice and no valid reason. So I finally was able to get that appt knocked out weeks ago and now I'm waiting to have the actual sleep study done and these folks are dragging their feet. This is the last appt outside of my last nut visit on the 15th. I'm literally stalking the Sleep Health office and they aren't moving unless I am calling them. I finally have a study appt and now they are saying they don't know if my insurance will cover it. Back to the waiting game...so frustrated!! I keep telling myself things may be crazy right now but at the end of the day I will have my surgery...period! Its just delayed right now. *sigh*

They are obvious changes! You look fantastic just several weeks out. Im pre-op and can't wait to get in there! keep up the great work.

thanks everyone, you've all got me in stitches especially with the rolling up of the boobs repost Happy. I was hoping they would go down a bit bc I am a 40H. Now Om thinking the complete opposite and I'll still need a reduction. Lmao. Gotta love the Boobies! Congrats on ur pecs Butter! lol

Ok, do a friend of mine freaked me out this weekend and asked me what my husband will think when I lose the books. I responded to her that I wasn't expecting to lose them. She shared that she had a friend who went through the surgery and they went down dramatically. Listen, I want them to.be smaller but I certainly.want to remain very curve. What has everyone else experienced?

Just imagine urself on the other side of it and plan for what you will do after the surgery. Most people think of their mortality when going under the knife but you will be just fine.

I would have to concur with everyone else that has responded. To be honest with you if you extend the pre-op diet just a bit you will probably lose most.of the weight you need to get off. I vote to talk with your doctor and reconsider.

I asked the same in my last nut appt and the shared the only time a person has not been approved using their practice is because additional documentation is needed. I have only lost 2 lbs n the past couple of months.

yeah, I've got an endoscopy coming up as well. I concur and believe it is pretty standard for the surgery.

I was told my eval would take all day. Its in a couple of weeks. We shall see!

Wow Annie...that's awesome! How long did it take from paperwork submission to approval? Do you mind if I ask what insurance company you have?
