Bed Spins?
It was a joke --- about the morning-after results of my old drinking days. You're right, no one wants to feel like this! Ugh.....like the worst hangover ever. It's a little better, been sipping peppermint tea, but still spinning and nauseous.....blech!

Bed Spins?
I have NOT been monitoring my intake -- just sipping all day. Maybe I'm taking in a lot less than I thought....

No Fill...normal To Be Able To Eat Lots?
I'm no expert, but I think this is probably a question for your doctor. I'm only a week after you and am on three weeks of fluids, so no solids for me until September 18! I would describe everything that's happening to you to your surgeon. It sounds like you could use a fill earlier than he's prescribing. But also don't pay attention to everything your boss says: Remember, we're snowflakes! Good luck! Blue

Pre-Op Phase Shakes Are Killing Me!!!!
I'm allergic to all artificial sweeteners but especially sucralose (Splenda) which is in everything! Maybe your doctor will let you use something like Raw protein (unflavored) mixed up with juice, or a protein powder from a health food store with natural sugars in it, like my doctor did.

Bed Spins?
I woke up this morning with the worst case of bed spins and they won't seem to go away. I'm not on any heavy duty meds -- but last night I took half an Immodium for diarrhea and some liquid Tylenol, along with .25 mg of an anti-anxiety pill. I think I drank all my fluids, but could I be dehydrated? I used to pay good money to get this feeling! Now, it's just annoying and nauseating. Suggestions? Blue

Help! I've Been Asked To Be A Guest Speaker!
I would limit it to about 20 minutes (if you're keeping track) and focus on What It Was Like Before (how bad it was), What Happened (how you came to the decision to have the surgery), and What It's Like Now (how good it is). Just tell your truth -- you'll be great!!!

First Full Liquid!
I made an interesting concoction just now -- I took a half-cup of organic sweet pea Soup (no chunks), added some Water to thin it, added some Raw unflavored Protein, a little Adobo seasoning, and had me some full liquid -- woo-hoo! Blue

My friend brought over some little Immodium pills. I broke them in half and over an hour or so I took one and a half. Did the trick!

Blood Blisters
Hard lesson to learn, it sounds like you might be allergic to the surgical adhesive, like I am. Feel better!

What Calorie/protein Goal Is Everyone Aiming For?
I haven't gotten there yet, but it looks like adding the unflavored Unjury protein powder to just about anything will up the amount! Blue

Constipation.....not!
It kind of extra sucks because my husband is in NYC today so I'm totally on my own again. Supposed to pick up my son from a play date, but I ain't leaving the house! I also can't get Immodium so I'll just sip sip sip. Can't be THAT much left! LOL

Constipation.....not!
So I'm having a sort of crisis here. After four days of nothing, my bowels have decided to have a rowdy pre-Labor Day pool party. Apparently I didn't get the invitation. Have had to take a couple of showers and change my clothes. Not fun! Any brilliant ideas? I made an appointment with my follow-up doctor for tomorrow morning, but I would like to get through the night and still have a modicum of dignity left. Blue

Gulp! Gulp!
Oh, I don't have a problem...Just trying to change a habit. Spend most of my time, while I'm drinking, looking like a chipmunk with nuts in both cheeks! LOL It's that moment between gulping it into my mouth and swallowing it that can take forever! LOL

Long Island Suffolk
Hey Christina! I just got banded in Mexico on Monday, but Dr. Allam is my follow-up doctor, first appointment on September 18th. I live in East Hampton. How you doing? Blue

Gulp! Gulp!
Even though I'm still on liquids, I'm already really aware of how I have to change my habits -- not just eating, but drinking! Every time I take a drink from my Water bottle, I almost completely fill my mouth. I then realize that if I swallow it all, it won't stay south for very long. So I have to swallow very slowly. Invariably, that's exactly when one of my kids asks me a question. It takes minutes -- nay, hours -- for me to divide that one gulp into about 12 tiny sips. Just one of those things I will have to learn -- take small sips....or at least smaller gulps! Blue

6 Days Post Op-Wake Up Feeling Nauseous Everyday!
Can you keep just a little cold ginger tea next to your side of the bed to sip as soon as you wake up? Would that help?
