Who Are You?
Hi I have read through most of this thread and I don't think I have posted on here before . I am 32 and have been married for 8+years.I am a mom of 3 as you can see from my username lol.My children are 4yrs,5yrs,and 7yrs and I have 2 step kids that reside in another state but come to visit not nearly enough. I am a Military Spouse my husband is Active Duty Air Force for over 17 years.I am also a Nurse but decided in 2007 to stay at home until my youngest starts school at least and then I will further my own education with hopes of becoming a Nurse Practitioner:) I love to travel one of my favorite places to go is Monterrey Ca (I am from Northern Cali).I love seeing other countries I have lived in 4 different ones. I have struggled with weight since my early teens but it has been worse since I had my first child but not from pregnancy weight gain for some reason I seem to be a post pregnancy gainer :/ I am 5'2 and was at my all time high of 234 last November and got down to 212 while my husband was deployed but since he returned I have ballooned back up to 225 or so and that is just the latest yoyo.Like others I have tried about 20+different diets.I had been considering WLS for a while and decided on the Sleeve in June and I was hoping to be sleeved in October but due to an undetected thyroid issue I had to put on thyroid meds and need to wait until my levels are stable. That being said I hope to be sleeved by No later than December but hopefully much sooner:)

I am Pre op so I haven't ordered anything yet but our clinic also recommended bariatriceating.com for recipes and shopping... I dont know what shipping cost are but anytime I shop online I go to retailmenot.com and look to see which websites have coupons.

Anyone's surgeon have a crazy sounding goal weight for them? I am scared that my surgeon will set mine at 110 or something crazy like that.. I am 5'2 but I plan on keeping some booty and breasts I do not want to be stick thin... I am thinking 135...- African American Sleevers

Ok ladies I am not sure if everyone already addressed this but I am wondering if there is a Pre surgery plan of attack to prevent hairloss?I haven't had a relaxer since 2007 so I am 99% natural (I still have a few straight ends) I still occasionally use a flat Iron but I figure that will have to stop after surgery...Any supplements you recommend? My hair is long and I would like to keep it that way,it is fairly thick but I feel like I already lose a lot in the shower washing every 10 days and I haven't had surgery yet. I should be getting sleeved in November...- African American Sleevers
Long ago wasn't that long ago and unfortunately the need still does exist. I am not racist by any means but I have to say that a lot of the Caucasians of my age 32 really do believe that racism is a thing of the past and those who think this because they are white and don't notice. My own husband is guilty of this we are an interracial couple and he really forgets racism exists until he sees me treated in a way different to the way people treat him and it was really bad when we were in Australia.I would love to say it doesn't exist any more and these schools, clubs etc aren't necessary but even where I am from in California it just is not so. Lol, I have some large Ta-tas too and wa thinking the same thing.. I just wonder if it adds more risk to the surgery to do everything through one incision... I know I will need to ask whoever ends up being my surgeon a lot of questions and doing research. I am also curious if they could use the same entry points I had from a previous surgery??- October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves
Who is your surgeon Minky? I will be done at SAMMC formerly BAMC and one of the girls on here was sleeved their last year and has the single incision too but he PCSed.I am not sure what the new sleeve doc does....- I Am Freaking Out
I am almost through with all the hoops and I am freaking out a little. The wait won't be long once I submit all my stuff. Ok now what I am freaking about is allthe Bad Stories I have been reading and there seems to be a lot lately. I am an anxious person and I am thinking about not going forward because I am afraid I will die as a result of this surgery...I have been reading Iggy Chick's story and it is freaking me out seriously. I am 32 and have 3 young kids I have hypertension and sleep apnea so far and I am now hypothyroid due to having half of mine removed.I really want this but I am so influenced by negative stories.Anyone else going through this or went through this and are out on the other side?- Sugar Free Vs No Sugar Added
Sometimes a juice that states "from concentrate" still has added sugar because the "concentrate" had sugar and it is their way of not having to say it they get away with it because it originates somewhere else.I used to work at a place that did bottling for Ocean Spray and Snapple.- My Surgery Update
